I know it's the only way for me to stay in shape. Diet

just doesn't cut it for me. I have to keep active, but

it's hard for me to get into the habit and easy to

fall out of it. Especially after the past year of

relative inactivity. Looks like I have some heavy duty

snow removal coming up. They're predicting a major

snowstorm coming from our friends in the southwest..

I know that getting older isn't condusive to more exercise (with me anyway).

Bad news & good news from the nee doc.

I have torn cartilage and will have to have orthoscopic surgery (bad news)

Good News - he will cut out the torn part and I will walk out (that's what

he said)

and lay low for a week. After 4 weeks of physical therapy (exercise bike) I

can start hiking again!

I scheduled surgery ASAP (April 14) and hopefully will be hiking by my

birthday, May 25! :-)

Hope you don't get much sno - you've had enough. I feel kind of guilty for

not getting much this winter (but I'll get over it). Then again, we're not

out of the woods yet. (fingers crossed)

Say hi to gym :-)

I think if you set a goal like that, you'll be more

likely to do it. My dad had 7 heart attacks in 3 days

and triple by-pass, last November. He's 73. His goal

was to go to a golf tournament in Nevada this week.

H's there and playing 27 holes of golf a day. I think

it's amazing, but I believe if you set a goal and want

it bad enough, you'll get there.

Well, nothing yet. They're expecting it today and

tonight, but they have downgraded it somewhat because

the temp is a little high. Some of it will come down

as rain & freezing rain. In a way that's worse, at

least for driving. We're now only expecting a few

inches. -dz-

Glad to hear that, while it wasn't the best news you

wanted to hear, it sounds promising anyway. I wish you

a speedy and full recovery. -dz-

Dz, We don't have to worry about snow or ice in southern Az. But I remember living back in the midwest that driving & dealing with snow was a lot better then dealing with ice, I enjoyed the snow, only put up with the ice. I hope you don't get it very bad as far as Ice goes. On my wedding day "March 24 1978 Good Friday" I woke up to two inches of ice on the ground 5 inches of snow on top of the ice & snowing like crazy. Roads were closed.

Jan there wasn't very much snuggling, Susy was also 7 weeks pregnant with our son . Susy was having a lot of morning sickness "BIG TIME". Even on our WEDDING-NIGHT". Susy spent the better part of the weekend in the bathroom.

Yeah, that sounds nasty. Sometimes the ice storms are

very beautiful when the trees are glazed in a sheet of

ice, but that's about the only good thing to say about

it. I remember driving in Milwaukee one day on a sheet

of ice. The road curved and my car slid and I bounced

right off the side of a city bus, I felt like I was on

a pinball machine. Neither I nor the bus stopped and

there was no damage done. -dz-

Yes. It sounds fairly simple but have to stay off it for a week. Hopefully I will be able to hike some after one month (end of May)

Well, the timing sounds pretty good anyway, just in

time to enjoy springtime in New England (?). I saw a

robin yesterday morning. That is what we consider our

first sign of spring. I hope that you have a speedy

recovery. -dz-

We don't think " HOT " here until July. I've been

camping in June when it got down in the 20's overnite.
