Guest guest
Wow 1mg. 2x's a week that is nuts you need to stop taking it I am betting your E2 is way to low now. But it would have helped us if you posted your labs with the ranges and units. Most of us start on .25mgs and take this 1/4 of a pill every 3 days. Driving E2 down to low is just as bad as going to high. Did you at any point get some good night time and morning wood when you started on this. If you did and then lost it you went to low. I would stop taking it and in a short time as your levels come back up your Wood will come back this means your at the right level. I would then go back on it but do .25 mgs. every 3 days cut the pill in half the use a single edge razor blade to cut the half's into 1/4's. You feel this way not because of a side from arimidex but because you drove your E2 down to low. matttaylor99 <matttaylor99@...> wrote: I have very high estrodiol, low testosterone started on testosterone cream, but the arimidex sent me into a nasty depression. Hi, that's over double what I do and I'm doing ~162.5mg of mixed test a week! go with the standard of 1/4mg (1/4 tab, use a tab cutter from the drugstore... the tabs I get I break in half on a score, then cut the halves into quarters... ymmv) every 3rd day and get tested after a month or so. if it truly is an allergic reaction there is stuff like aromasin and extremestase(sp??) that stops aromatization too... but if you drive your e2 level to low with aromasin due to the mechanism it works with you don't recover as fast... arimidex is more forgiving. That depression as likely E2 too low. Much below 20 and it has profound impacts. Most of us take arimidex in 1/4 tablet doses only 2 to 3 times a week. You were taking about 8 times what most of us do.

Guest guest
retro is correct. That is way too much Arimidex. Nearly everyone takes 1/4 .25mg at a dose. You will have to get off it for awhile in my opinion then start your doseage at 1/4 of the total pill. It is a little hard to cut but it can be done. I have my dosage at .25mg every 8 days and that is good for me. Your E2 must be flat by now as retro said. I take my T once a week which doesn't let me down either. I am in poor shape at the moment. I have not done any HRT for a 6 weeks or more after I crashed, the bodylogicmd doctor had me on T3, arimedex and testosterone cream, . The t3 amount of 3o mcg was to much, she knew I was taking 225 mcg for synthroid for hypothyroid, so when I introduced that much t3 without cutting back on the synthroid it made for a problem possibly. Also the 1mg of arimidex 2x a week was a little much I gather. I hired another endocrinologists and he suggested stopping all hrt, then retesting my hormones to get a baseline to see where I stand. Guest guest
This is why I say Endo's are no go for testing or treating low T. All this Endo got from taking you off TRT was to see how dam sick he made you. I have this done to me every time a Dr. sent me to an Endo and all they found out was how dam sick they made me and still found out nothing as to why I am so low. Never let a Dr. pull you off TRT again now you will be a long time getting back to good levels if you like me. I went through this crap and later found out once your on TRT there is no base line results on labs even if your off TRT for 3 months. Each time I was told I am Primary meaning my testis don't work. This was over a 23 yrs time and just 3 yrs ago I found out I am Secondary meaning my pituitary does not work right. So stay way from Endo's they are only good for low sugar. They are not even good for Thyroid. What you first Dr. did adding T3 is done all the time and I don't feel this was a problem. Unless you have low cortisol levels but then you would have ended up in the ER. You need cortisol to carry the T3 out of your blood into your cells. So if your low on cortisol and you add Armour or T3 it builds up in your blood and will make you feel hyper of like your having a heart attack. If I were you I would get a 200mg shot of Depo T to jump start you then do 100mgs shots your self every week. And if you can't get a Dr. to do this see Dr. or see if you can get your family Dr. to work with him to test and treat you over the phone. Dr. is one of the best a lot of me drive or fly to see him he only needs to see you once. Then he can treat you by phone or Email. www.allthingsmale.com When you go off TRT your Estradiol " E2 " will bottom out most of us have higher E2 levels do to TRT. To tell how your thyroid is going you need Free T3 tested also. With you labs off TRT looking like this and your Dr. being reluctant to put you back on TRT If I were you I would run from this Dr. I have lost count on how many times I have hear this story. It's sad we have to go through this I went 23 yrs before I figured out I am Hypopituitary and when my New Dr. looked over my old labs he even said they were screaming I have a pituitary problem. So now we treat all the hormones that are low or even low normal and I am doing so much better. matttaylor99 <matttaylor99@...> wrote: > > I have very high estrodiol, low testosterone > > started on testosterone cream, but the arimidex sent me into a > nasty depression. > I was on 1 mg 2x a week > > any other way to lower estrodiol other then arimidex? update I have had a resurgence of severe depression, the AD meds have pooped out. Guest guest
The last test your Endo did I don't think it's a men's test because of the range or was it a 24 urine test. Your old Estradiol with the range of 10 to 50 pg/ml was the right one to have the rest I am told by Dr. are for women and not any good for men. I am telling you to go to shots because you have a thyroid problem and most men with a thyroid problem have a thicker skin and the gels and creams don't get through the skin and you can't get good levels. In the last post I sent you I gave you some links to sites where Dr.'s post go there and read them Dr. nco takes about the thyroid and thicker skin. They even have a name for it. Your E2 levels can go down coming off TRT because E2 is made from Testosterone. When you go on shots the levels will come back up. Here is what you need to do get your Total and Free T levels up into the upper 1/3 of your labs range for a young man. And keep your E2 at about 20 to 30 pg/ml this will have you feeling your best. So if your range for TT is 250 to 1100 you would do good to get up to or over 700 then go by how you feel. With a thicker skin you will not get past 400 to 500 on creams or gels. matttaylor99 <matttaylor99@...> wrote: > > > > I have very high estrodiol, low testosterone > > > > started on testosterone cream, but the arimidex sent me into a > > nasty depression. > > I was on 1 mg 2x a week > > > > any other way to lower estrodiol other then arimidex? > > update > > I have had a resurgence of severe depression, the AD meds have > pooped out. Guest guest
---Philip, what or how did you know you had pituitary issues? tests? also, you mention that i will not get above 400 or 500 with the test crteams and gels, I believe is true, but if the endo is reluctant to give me T cream with 305 testosterone, I doubt I will get a Depot T shot from him. What is Depot T shot stand for? Yes your are correct, since I stopped the HRT from doc 1 my E2 dropped like a rock. Do you think starting back with the T cream will help out with that? Also, I have puffy nipples [ gyne] for thirty years, I plan on surgery some day, I am a little woried about the T cream or shots making it worst, and I refuse to take arimidex, I think that DIM product works for me. thanks in advance, Matt In , philip georgian <pmgamer18@...> wrote: > > The last test your Endo did I don't think it's a men's test because of the range or was it a 24 urine test. Endo's are not good Dr.'s for thyroid or low testosterone. If you have no luck getting this Dr. to give you Depo testosterone shots starting at 100mgs a week then you need to find a good Dr. DO Dr.'s are some of the best where do you live. Yes your E2 will come back up on Depo T shots as your levels come up so will E2. I am over weight and my I have fat on my chest this goes away as I lose weight what you need to worry about is breast tessue if you have this then you need to keep E2 in check. Having it removed and not keeping E2 down it will come back. Indolplex/DIM is very good for keeping E2 in check. matttaylor99 <matttaylor99@...> wrote: ---Philip, what or how did you know you had pituitary issues? tests? also, you mention that i will not get above 400 or 500 with the test crteams and gels, I believe is true, but if the endo is reluctant to give me T cream with 305 testosterone, I doubt I will get a Depot T shot from him. Guest guest
As for my pituitary for 23 yrs Dr.'s told me I am primary meaning my testis don't make enough T. I read TRT: A Recipe for Success and the HCG Update at Dr. 's site he puts this out there free for us and are Dr.'s. www.allthingsmale.com I showed this to my Dr. and told him I want to add HCG to my T shots he said it would not do me any good because I am Primary. I posted to Dr. about this and told me to show his reply to my Dr. Here is a cut and paste. Of my post to Dr. at the time on the web his nick was SWALE. ====================================================== #5 (permalink) vbrep_register( " 413586 " ) 03-13-2005, 04:10 PM pmgamer18 vbmenu_register( " postmenu_413586 " , true); Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2005 Posts: 6,605 I am confused? --------------------------------- I have been on TRT for 21 yrs and I am Primary I read SWALE paper on adding HCG to the mix. I asked my Dr. if it would help and he felt no. Because my Testis don't work. SWALE is he right. There are several reasons why this is not so. First, you have not lost all Leydig cells, so any HCG you take will stimulate those who still function to produce endogenous testosterone. This will support testicular size. We should not ignore this aesthetic consideration. Next, if he reads my work, he will learn that HPTA-suppressed (as all TRT patients are to some extent) also suffer decreased pregenenolone levels, which is the first step after CHOL in all three hormonal pathways which begin with CHOL. HCG increases pregnenolone production, and therefore restores a more natural balance of our hormones. Next, nearly all TRT patients who add in HCG to their regimens report an increased sense of well-being and also libido. These are genuine quality of life issues. Finally, I just instinctively do not want all those LH receptors (including those we have yet to discover and appreciate) unstimulated. ====================================================== So my Dr. agreed to try HCG after he read this. I started at a higher dose then Dr. uses 500 IU's 3 x's a week after the 15th shot we retested and my Total T levels went from 600 to 1200 at the time the lab I used there range went to 1592 so my levels doubled. I asked my Dr. if my testis don't work how is this possible. He said it must be my adrenals making more T. I posted this to Dr. and it's not possible Dr. told my I must have a pituitary problem and need an MRI. Well the MRI was OK so I remembered that before I got sick some 25yrs ago today I had a bad auto accident with a head injury so then my Dr. and he was not the Dr. that told me I am Primary went back over all my old labs and they were screaming I have a pituitary problem. So then we started treating all the things on my labs that were low normal like Cortisol, Thyroid, Ferritin, Vit.-D and so on. And this is called Hypopituitary due to a head injury. A lot of are boys coming back from the war have this problem do the the road side bombs and some pro football players. matttaylor99 <matttaylor99@...> wrote: ---Philip, what or how did you know you had pituitary issues? tests? also, you mention that i will not get above 400 or 500 with the test crteams and gels, I believe is true, but if the endo is reluctant to give me T cream with 305 testosterone, I doubt I will get a Depot T shot from him. In the last post I sent you I gave you some links to sites where Dr.'s post go there and read them Dr. nco takes about the thyroid and thicker skin. They even have a name for it. > > Your E2 levels can go down coming off TRT because E2 is made from Testosterone. And keep your E2 at about 20 to 30 pg/ml this will have you feeling your best. So if your range for TT is 250 to 1100 you would do good to get up to or over 700 then go by how you feel.
