After having my son in 1990, I went on to have severe Post Partum depression

when he was 4 months old. Then after I was " over " that, I went on to have

panic attacks.......... we thought mine was all hormone related, but who

knows. I have gone in and out of panic and anxiety problems........ Todate I

only have them periodically. Also I want to note that I had been in a very

dysfunctional marriage to an abusive Arabic man.........ironically when I got

rid of him things got better for me.

So who knows........that is an interesting point I never considered.

Hi,

My first daughter was born in 83 and I could not get any one to

listen to me. I was very afraid to make a big deal out of the

panic attacks because I was afraid of having my baby taken away.

I know that was irrational but it did not seem to be at the time.

I suffered for about 10 years. My husband was having problems

with depression at the same time because of a job loss. So we

were a mess to say the least. As he started to get his act

together I started to get better. So There may be something to

what you say here!

Sharon,

So sorry you went through this. I often worry when my husband is on travel

and I to have a son at home. So far I've been luck not to have experienced

such an attack. But anyone of us could at any time. Hope your are feeling

better and getting some rest. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers.

Hi Sharon,

So sorry for your ordeal, I can imagine your fear. I had something

similar occur once when herxing. Since I fear hospitals and especially

emergency rooms, I jumped in a hot bath. I know that sounds silly, but it

distracted me, and I calmed down. My husband has orders not to call 911

unless I pass out. Get some rest.

Hugs,

Marta

I've been on the serzone for a couple of weeks. 3 days ago i increased from 100 to 200 mg. I also started Zanax 3 days ago--hasn't been helping my sugar cravings, thought it would. I may not take it because don't want to be addicted. I also have unrelaxed breathing, shortness of breath. I feel like i justg want to jump out of my skin. Where do you get tanalbit--i heard it's a good antifungal for candida--havent' been able to find it. It helps you?

And the uva ursi? I heard uva is strong ad you must not take it continuously.

I am so sorry that you are going through this. this is what happened

to me at the begninning of the month when i started this whole

thing. I really think maybe you should try to get some glutamine

(this will help with the cravings) and maybe try Homozon which will

clean you out gently and help get rid of the dead Candida. I am so

sorry you are going through this! Also, you might want to try some

coral calcium - it wil help to calm your nerves. We are here

whenever you need us. Hang in there. I know how you are feeling

right now!

You know Carol, Valerian Root will help to relax you as well. If you

don't want to take the Xanax becuase it is addicting, you might want

to try the Valarian Root. My doc told me to just take the Xanax -

why dont' you just take it for a couple days and not worry about it.

IF you are stillhaving the episodes, maybe the anti-depressant you

are taking is not the best one for you. Do you know if Serzone works

for anxiety / panic as well as depression? You should look into

that. Okay - I just looked up Serzone in my Anti-depressant Drugs

book (can you tell I have problems in that area???). the book says

that it is one of the most effective " newer " antidepressants on

treating anxiety. Even moreso that Effexor and Wellbutrin. Hmmm.

It says you should feel the anxiety wean soon after starting it.

Also it says under drug interactions that " The levels of Xanax and

Halcion are raised four times by combining these drugs with

Serzone. " So, watch out when taking the Xanax. I wonder why it's

not working if you taking one pill of the Xanax is like taking 4 of

them if you take it while on Serzone. Maybe you should talk to your

doc Carol. No one deserves to have the anxiety. I HATE it! It

makes you feel like you're going crazy (I know - I was just there a

couple weeks ago).

Check in frequently and let us know how you are doing. Also, what

other anti-candida stuff are you taking right now? I found one herb

that my system just DIDN'T agree with (Biocidin) and it made me feel

like I wanted to climb right out of my skin as well.

How long have you been on the anti-depressants? Did you get

a recent increase in dosage lately? Sometimes an increase in

dosage can increase your anxiety level for a couple of weeks.

Can you explain the anxiety you are feeling?

I had been getting unrelaxed breathing episodes. Small amount

of tension would make me feel as though I would hyperventilate

any minute. I took Uva Ursi for a pneumonia episode for about 3

months and it cleared that up. Solved some of the anxiety.

Then I got the unrelaxed breathing again. Tried a product called

Tanalbit, cleared that up and I have been fine since. It has plant

tannins in it.

The type of breathing problem I had was feeling unable to breath

in my lower diaphragm. In yoga and relaxation sessions this is

what you would like to achieve. It seems that many types of

bacteria can thrive in the bowel (as well as candida) causing

the inability to breath relaxed. I am wondering if this may be

connected to your problems like it was with mine. This was a

cause of much of my distress.

My anxiety is so intense--i feel like i'm going crazy. I don't know if it is my anti-depressents, my candida, hypoglycemia. I have shortness of breath.. UGH!!! I'm just venting--what can you say? Dear Carol, I am sure your medicine increase is what is adding to your

anxiety. I would get a paperback prescription drug book to keep an eye

on these medications and how they react. I get episodes that I feel like

I am going to jump out of my skin also. Especially it is triggered by

noise, like a car going by. Now I only get this before my period.

The majority of my anxiety settled down when my doctor put me on

some thyroid medication. I had these thyroid tests all of my life and

every doctor said that my readings were in the normal range. Or they

would say, "Its normal for you" Whatever that is supposed to mean?

Anyway, 15 years later this new doctor I am seeing tested me and

found my levels to be normal but very LOW NORMAL. So he put

me on the medication, and also natural progesterone, I have had

trouble with low hormones. This has really helped me to drop two

of the antidepressants that I am currently taking. I do feel the need

for another thyroid tablet. Once I talk to my doctor, we may be able

to experiment and I would like to rid myself of the antidepressant.

But it is a real life saver when you are trying to unravel things out.

We are such a complicated group-LOL

About the Tanalbit- I bought it on the web.

http://www.intensivenutrition.com/Home.html

I found by using it to take it for 2 weeks. After that it doesn't

seem to do anymore for me. But after a few months I then take

it again for 2 weeks. This product helped me breathe easily from

my lower gut, not my chest. So if you have symptoms similar to

mine it may be worthwhile. This is also for Candida only I don't

feel it is taking a direct attack to removing mine. It may help a

certain strain of yeast.

About Uva Ursi, you are right, you must take it for limited time.

Usually 2 weeks. My doctor suggested that I take it for 6 weeks.

My problem was better but not going away and I did not

want on antibiotics. So I pushed it for 3 months. I took 1 tablet

in the morning and 1 tablet at 2:00 in the afternoon. It really flushed

water out of me so I took additional potassium, calcium and magnesium

every day. I made it, loved the way my bladder felt and could breath

again. My body started to feel dead like my muscles wasn't getting

any oxygen. If you take the Uva Ursi, listen to your body. Maybe

you only can tolerate 1 tablet a day or maybe 2 like me if you are

interested in trying it.

If your body is low in calcium and/or magnesium you can feel much

tension and anxiety. So try a really good absorbable product like

chelated products. Coral calcium is very absorbable and is also balanced

with magnesium.

I tried taking 5-htp for sugar/carb cravings and found it to be a very good

help. However if you are left plain hungry because this candida diet

doesn't fill you up, it doesn't help that. This helps you blood sugar a

little also. I hope you are making out a list, our members have found

some tricks to some of these problems. I hope something will help

you also.

YES! Ask your doc for an anti-anxiety...they work immediately (well, 20 mins.

or so) Perhaps xanax or valium or another anti-anxiety. As far as OTC

meds...you can try taking some Benadryl (if you're not allergic to it)

That's the active ingredient in most OTC sleep aids etc. Orsleepytime tea

has kava kava in it....very relaxing. But if you're that anxious, then ask

for the real deal. No need to suffer with anxiety on top of everything else.

God bless, mzgee

oh Edie sounds like a hellacious roller coaster!

Some people do well on milk thistle.

But you can't go jumping around on anti d's and expect em to work. I don't

understand the reasoning, unless one isn't working and you quit it? None of

them are gonna cover everything, it's more a 'best fit' thing.

good luck hope you feel better real soon :)

I haven't e-mailed this list in a long time. I have been off treatment

for almost 8 months. I went for my 3 month blood work everything came

out good. It is almost been 8 months and I just don't want to go back

for my 6 month blood work I don't know if I am frighten or what. I hated

being on treatment and at the same time felt luckie to be on it (if that

makes any since). When I first got off treatment I felt great full of

energy loved life and people. Know it is a effort to get out of bed and

do anything I don't feel bad just no energy. I also have the bone thing

in my neck shoulder and wrist. I just wish the motivation to do anything

would come back. Does anyone else have this problem? Maybe you could

tell me what you do for it.

Jessie... so good to hear from you!

<<. I just wish the motivation to do anything would come back. Does anyone

I whine about it all the time. In fact, today of all days, I'm really down

about it. I'm tired of hurting, of being so tired I can't DO things normal

people can do, of not feeling " in control " even tho I know it's a mind game,

I want to FEEL I can control myself, my feelings, my body (mostly), I'm

tired of having to plan what I do, how much I do, plan to make sure I'm not

stuck out in the heat more than a few seconds, plan that my rides are all

ac, that someone else cools the car off before I get in it, planning meals

and grocery lists so I can get the right foods cuz someone else usually has

to do the shopping, tired of spending money on my car so I can get to work

so I can spend more money on my car so I can get to work, tired of trying to

be normal and not succeeding.

Ever have one of those days? Well today is MINE you can't have it haha.

Schedule yours later.

Jessie, my doc told me it could take up to 6 months to get this shit out of

our systems. Problem is, I had less pain ON treatment than OFF. Now I'm

returning to how I felt before treatment and it sucks.

Be sure your doc knows what is going on with you tho ok? She/he might be

able to help. However, don't stop drinking the water and resting. Take the

lows as they come, shoot the curl, hang ten and then some :)

Hope you feel better soon

Hi Edie,

Ask your doctor for either Xanax or Valium. They

work right away and will help all those little things

to roll off your shoulders. I'm pretty sure you can

take them just when you need them, (or just until the

SSRI kick in) and they can be taken along with your

SSRI antidepressant (which you take regularly.) Even a

low dose will help. Xanax made me a little drowsy, but

the Valium doesn't. However, everyone is different.

Hope you find the right thing for you!

Good luck!

Claudine

Jessie, I can relate, somedays I have all kind of energy, well at least feel

like doinf things and then other days just tired, think its the hep, and

the weather, am worried about winter though, hate hibernating, so am going

to make a plan to get out and do things, (of course I say this every year)

At times I think its from not wanting to do anything for so long while on

medicine, before that I always wondered what the matter was, I'm thinking

maybe an antidepressant year round does'nt sound like a bad idea, just hate

taking pills and would really like to go natural, the wort St. 's

doesn't seem to do it for me in the winter though. well take care and hang

in there

she settled down.

> So... when you posted this about something for

anxiety

> - I was interested.

> What do you think (after I stated the

situation)?

the anxiety went higher because of the core

problem to her depression.

there is a *big deal* in her memories and in her

neurology.

Big stuff. Rape, child abuse, something she's done

herself, something massive.

All the other symptoms and everything are there to

protect her from having to " feel like that " ever

again because if she did, she would die. And if

she was to think about " that " , it would bring

those feelings back on the one hand, and on the

other hand all her symptoms are designed to keep

her away from positions where " that " could happen,

*or* where she could be reminded of *that*.

Anxiety attacks are particularly useful to stop

people from doing all kinds of things that could

remind them of *that* or could trigger *that*

happening again.

You need to back up way back and start with

pre-work such as, I am afraid - terrified - to

open this up at all.

You could also do something altogether different

and approach it from the opposite angle, namely

asking her what resources she might need to live a

different life and she doesn't have and then tap

on that - I have no center, I have no strength, I

have nothing left to fight with, that kind of

thing.

Then there's also a technique that I am

particularly fond of which would be either to ask

the client directly or to muscle test for:

What do we have to treat in WHICH ORDER AND

SEQUENCE to resolve this completely ecologically,

completely gently and have it be right again?

.... and see what turns up.

This has to do with the resources needed to

weather the storms of increasingly difficult to

cope with memories and experiences -

metaphorically speaking, on a heroes quest journey

they get to find swords, shields, helmets and

various other bits of magic *before* they finally

meet the biggest monster, so that when they do,

all they need is a bit of courage to win the day

because they have *everything they need* to

support them in their endeavour.

I think that's a very important question you have

asked, very important indeed for anyone starting

to work with really high order disturbances in

people. With these kinds of people you really need

to be careful and do your homework, if you will,

taking the client's responses immediately as the

gospel to what is happening to guide the

progression of treatments over time.

When a symptom responds so immediately with

turning up twice as high, something needs to be

done *before* the treatment/set up you were

attempting to make it be alright to be doing that.

When I say that kind of thing, usually some people

jump on me and accuse me to try to get back to the

" 25 years in therapy " approach but that is not at

all the case.

What *is* the case, however, is that some problems

cannot be resolved in a single session and that

the ORDER AND SEQUENCE of what is being treated is

really, really important to have METs work their

true magic - it is like a domino effect when you

get it right, one issue after the other rapidly

presents itself and responds beautifully and

quickly to the treatments.

Thank you for asking,

Silvia

Isn't Catchecol (spelling?) recommended by Dr. D. for stress in O's. You can

order it from North American Pharmaceuticals. I have taken it, but am not

sure if it did anything or not.
