Welcome ,

My name is Krista from De Winton Alberta, Canada. We have a 3.5 year old

daughter, Kaisha, who was damaged by the DPT vaccine (story is in archives)

and a 2 year old son, , unvaccinated. We too eat an organic, whole

foods diet, mostly gluten free as Kaisha has celiac disease and is

allergic to wheat, family bed, cloth diapers, trying to attachment/continuum

parent (Liedloff, The Continuum Concept). I too love being a stay at

home mom and plan to homeschool.

Love,

Krista

Hello All,

Just wanted to introduce myself.. I joined the list a couple of days ago and

just

got a chance to do my intro.. My name is and I subscribed to the list

because my brother in law has terminal brain cancer.. He was diagnosed a little

over a year ago... He was in remission for about 3 mos until they found another

tumor in his brian.. He is not taking it well (which I'm sure you all can

understand). I have done some research on alternative therapy for cancer and am

a

nursing student.. So am a little familiar with treatment options.. He just

finished his second round of radiation therapy.. They haven't done surgery

because

the tumors are inoperable, and the cancer has spread down his spine.. I look

forward to getting to know you all and learning new things.. I will also try to

help all of you when ever I can.. Thanks a lot

Welcome to the group !

I'm new here as well and have just been recently diagnosed with breast

cancer, and now have suspiscious spots that have shown up in my lungs and

uterus. My mother just passed away from breast cancer in Jan. of this

year. I have not done any traditional treatment, and have found this group

to be a wealth of knowledge and support. I also feel better than I ever

have with all the changes. Give my love to your brother in law, and thank

you for your offer of sharing knowledge ith us. Some of this is very

difficult, but I've found strength I never knew I had.

Blessings,

Diane

Have you heard about pinpoint radiation? There is a program on Staten Island

that uses something called Stereotactic radiation therapy wiht many types of

brain tumors. THis has been used successfully in Europe for a long time.

CHeck out the following site and click on the link at the bottom of the page.

I don't know if your brother in law would be a candidate, but its worth a

try.

Thanks for asking ... I emailed them and they sent me this packet of

information on the surgery. I gave the information to my mother in law. You

have

to send them his MRI and scans that he had. As far as them following up on it I

doubt it. It is a very sad situation. My in laws are a weird bunch.... Sorry

to

say.. But I truly appreciate your concern and for telling me about the

procedure.

Welcome to the group. I think if you've lurked for any period of time

you'll find that this is one of the warmest, most caring and most

motivational groups of people you'll ever " meet. "

Congratulations on your progress so far, to be in your 7th week of a

second challenge is wonderful. You are an inspiration for those of

use who are in our " rookie " season!

Post the before/afters on here and send them to the epalisades site.

By the way, I enjoyed your work on Picket Fences (just kidding).

pics to me and I'll post them on our site at

check out the wonderful pictures of transformations

Hi Melinda,

What a beautiful baby you have!

Hope you find lots of useful information and support here. Welcome!

Callie

Hello everyone;

I am new to this list as of this morning and haven't done any reading yet.

My name is Melinda, I am 28 and currently living in Talent Oregon (Southern

Oregon, 40 min north of California).

I am from Saskatoon Saskatchewan Canada. My parents were freaky religious

and did not believe in medical Drs so my brother and I were never

vaccinated. I had measles when I was 5 when the outbreak killed 5 people

that belonged to our church. I resented my parents for not vaccinating me

or taking me to a Dr even when I had a life threatening illness. I always

believed I would vaccinate my children. I got vaccinated for Rubella when

it was going around at my University as I had some risk of becoming

pregnant. I also had chickenpox and mumps.

I was living in Toronto Ontario when I became pregnant with my daughter

Taycee last July. In February my husband and I moved to Oregon (he

is from the area) and I gave birth to Taycee at home, unassisted (I had a

DEM midwife hanging out just in case) on April 6th. I have been

researching the vaccination issue for the past few weeks. I am leaning

towards not vaccinating and most likely will not vaccinate given my current

knowledge of the pros/cons. It does concern me that Oregon has the lowest

vaccination rate in the US so an outbreak is more likely to take hold here.

We are heading back to Edmonton Alberta, Canada in October to resume my job

with EXXON. We are doing so reluctantly as we really want to make our home

here in Oregon but can't seem to sustain ourselves here at the moment. (I

am Canadian and am not allowed to work in US, can't work in Canada).

My Daughter:

I look forward to getting to know you all;

Melinda

Hi there,

Welcome to the list, I ask this question to everyone who has ever suffered

one of these illnesses. What was it like? What was the worst part about any

of them? What is your current health like? I am asking the latter because I

am curious, if in later life it made a difference getting these diseases.

The five people you knew, what would have kept them alive, do you think?

My son is 14 mos old and up until now we have not vaccinated, we have

totally made our minds up.

Once again welcome,

Well , I was five so I don't remember much about having measels

besides thinking I could fly off the top of the stairs. I had a really

high fever but I don't remember much else. All I remember about getting

mumps was that my throat was sore and I was standing on a chair, bending

over to drink some water at my grandmothers who had well water in a bucket,

while I was bent over, my grandfather looked up my night shirt. That is

totally unrelated but is my only memory of mumps (LOL).

My mother treated all illness with cyanne pepper, cider vingar, hot lemon

water and chopped garlic. As a child I was much more fearful of the

treatments than I was of the illnesses.

My current health is excellent. I have chronic pain in my back from a car

accident but that's about it.

I don't know what would have kept the other's alive, I am not familiar with

the details of their illnesses. I would think their parents should have

done more than prayed, though.

This guy supports parents that don't vaccinate. He has done programs on

Norene,

Most of the moron doctors I have to deal with. Would rather you didn't know

much about what is happening. I can't understand the secret. I fight with my

docs and they really don't like me cause I want to know things for that we go

rounds. The attitude of some docs are expected.

Hi Cheryl!

Welcome. I am really looking forward to hearing your comments

regarding essential oils. I have bookmarked your website for future

reading. I use essential oils for so many things, but i still have

lots to learn! Looking forward to hearing from you. BTW, there is a

board here on for essential oils!

Rhonda :-)

Thanks for the warm welcome Terri! A little about the soaping me: I've been

soaping for about a year. Started a biz this past November. Have 2

wholesale accounts in town. My sister in Albany wants to carry it in her

store as well as a friend of hers who owns an upscale beauty shop! Yay!

Trying to expand and do lots of marketing. My 10 y.o. just added a small

side line biz to mine, making MP w/ toys inside, body glitter, lip balm and

some other stuff. IF anyone has any good kid friendly recipes for her, let

me know. I'm stumped as to what to add to her line! I do CP and am always

trying new ideas. Since I started I've added bath salts, milk baths, bath

teas, bath melts, lip balm, spray lotion & lotion bars. I feel a little

like I'm spreading myself too thin. After this next big spring show, I'll

see what sells best and cut back a little. Oh, if you want to visit my

site, it's www.eclecticgarden.bigstep.com. It's not really complete yet

(definitely a work in progress) and it's mostly for the locals that call and

want to know what I have available. This way, they can see photos and all.

Anyway, I too am hoping this list will take away some of my homesickness;

however, it seems the opposite is true! Anyway, thanks again for the big

warm welcome. I will try to contribute when I can. Hugs, P.S. Terri:

Sounds like a great party you're having!

homesickness away. Please relax and have fun here.

Hi Suzzane,

Hope you are having a good free pain day.
