Guest guest
Jeri, Until the doctor completes the tests try not to take milk thistle, it will cause incorrect lab results. Tell the doctor EVERYTHING you are taking and how much. Milk thistle has been used for thousands of years for liver disease symptoms. (It may even save the life of someone who eats wild mushrooms and gets the wrong one). It will also prevent the liver from producing some enzymes required for elimination of some toxins, drugs included which could lead to unknown side effects or overdoses. Most people with hepatitis C will die with it, not from it. A good diet low in fats and red meat will help the liver. And if you find that you do have an active infection....NO alcohol!! Check out the Links on this site and LeighAnn's website: http://www.geocities.com/1Leighann/. Glenn > > I just found out I have hep c. I have my 1st doctor appoint today. I started taking milkthistle yesterday. I'm afraid I'm going to go to the doctor and he will prescribe a lot of unnecessary (?) pills. I just want to be informed. I prefer to do things as naturally as possible. I have taken herbs and supplements for a number of years rather than resort to prescription meds. Its always worked for me until now. I got my 'natural' health books out and every one of them said I need to see a doctor. I feel good and considered my self healthy until now. I'm a bit scared. plaserville6@... > > Jeri > >
Guest guest
Dear Glenn you sound very knowledge about HepC, I am not a candidate for treatment because of a depression. In 2000 diagnoised with Chronic Hepatits C. I had a viral count of 1 million. I had a liver biospy it was grade 1, stage 2. I only felt tired. I got it in 1987,from a transfusion lately I have gotten the rash on my chest and back, my sister tell me my back is full of spider veins. I had a headache since January, at first I thought it was neuraglia, but it hasn't gone away I have been taking Indocin, the Dr. gave me Lycria, but I thought I was going blind. So back on the Indocin. My mouth is bleeding, and I have had two serious nose bleeds. I read on one site this could be from HepC, I think I am going into another stage of HepC. I never got my gneone type and my Dr. said it wasn't necessary because I was't taking treatment. My blood pressure is good, not as low as it was before my hysterotomy. It was very high for a while when I was taking Vioxx. Now its 125 over 68 and I am sixty three. I don't expect to live forever, but these nosebleeds were really bad, last one lastest 12 hours. I am right is the HepC just getting worse. Since we move down to North Carolina, my health insurance doesn't cover labs, or Doctor. The hospital is covered. I don't want to put myself thru new test if this is just a natural continuation of the Disease. . hdhepper1 <grisley4@...> wrote: Jeri, Until the doctor completes the tests try not to take milk thistle, it will cause incorrect lab results. Guest guest
I believe in drs but I don't think this guy can predict your death. I'd see another dr, one who understands your approach to this disease. Sounds like he's trying to scare you into treatment. I went through treatment successfully but if your biopsy is good, you should still have time to make that decision without this guys help. Good luck ans welcome. Guest guest
It's been my experience that most doctors have a low opinion of "alternative" medicine, I don't think they like to admit there is an alternative to their way. They have not been able to correlate viral load to alt/ast counts to liver damage. It varies so much from one person to another, it seems to me that most of the advice I've heard centers around the liver biopsy, as the best evidence. -dz- I believe in drs but I don't think this guy canpredict your death. Guest guest
Hi , Welcome to the heterochromia group. Your son is a cutie! It looks like there is some color difference between his eyes. If you haven't already, it wouldn't be a bad idea to take him to an eye doctor, just to rule out any problems. Most of the people in this group (including me) have heterochromia with no associated problems. > > Hi Everyone, > My name is jessica and i have a 3 year old son named isaiah. Guest guest
Hello , And Everyone Else :-)Your Lil One is very cute!! I have a 3 month old Son with one gray eye and one brown eye. I was waiting to see if they might change but was told to get things checked out with an opthamologist. We have an appointment in a couple of weeks. I am sure there is nothing though as my Grandfather had one green eye and one blue eye so I believe, at least in this case, there is a genetic link.Anyway, the difference in your Son's eyes is subtle, as in my son Eli's case. I bet you can see it very clearly with more light. As I am, it is never a bad idea to have things looked at...also agreeing with .Sincerely,littlel77 <lcountee@...> wrote: Hi , Welcome to the heterochromia group. Your son is a cutie! Guest guest
Thanks for your help. I was going to tell the pediatrician at his next check up next month to see if she can refer me to an opthamologist you now how insurance companies are. But thanks i do appreciate your help. I will keep posting as i find out more. I read that heterochormia is inherited or cause by trauma or syndrome/disease. Well as of my knowledge no one has had heterochromia and there was no trauma and no signs or symptoms of disease so it does have me a bit worried. Thanks again for replying. --- littlel77 <lcountee@...> wrote: > Hi , > > Welcome to the heterochromia group. Guest guest
hi, !sure he has different colored eyes, but i am not sure if this is depending on heterochromia. may u should ask ur doctor about this. i for myself would mean that heterochromia would shows itselfs in clear parted different colors and not even same color but different kind.also it seems that the colors of isaiah's eyes looks different in different light conditions. anyway he is a very cute boy! congratulation for "creating" him! ;-)yoursPierre-André <jessymarie4981@...> schrieb: Hi Everyone, My name is jessica and i have a 3 year old son named isaiah. Guest guest
Hi Pierre, Thanks for your reply. I do appreciate the replies i am getting. I will definately talk to the pediatrician regarding his eye color to either rule out heterochromia or rule in. Its nice to see some very unique people in this group. You all have very beautiful eyes. thanks again for your reply. --- Pierre-André hentzien <piah1964@...> wrote: > hi, ! > > sure he has different colored eyes, but i am not > sure if this is depending on heterochromia. may u > should ask ur doctor about this. i for myself would > mean that heterochromia would shows itselfs in clear > parted different colors and not even same color but > different kind. > also it seems that the colors of isaiah's eyes looks > different in different light conditions. > anyway he is a very cute boy! congratulation for > " creating " him! ;-) > > yours > Pierre-André > > > <jessymarie4981@...> schrieb: Hi > Everyone, > My name is jessica and i have a 3 year old son > named isaiah. Guest guest
According to FitDay: 1 Tablespoon of Coconut Oil = 117.23 Calories (total fat 11.76g) 1 Tablespoon of Butter = 101.81 Calories (total fat 11.52g) 1 Tablespoon of Olive Oil = 119.34 Calories (total fat 13.5g) I don't count calories. I only count my ratio of fat : protein : carbs. I'm losing weight, the more fat I consume the better for me. I'm 65kgs now and want to get down to 50kg so I can fit back into my skinny clothes! If you are gaining and need to lose, I'd be happy to work with you on some calorie/carb/protein/fat ratios that would help you lose as well as cure your candida. Feel free to email me privately as I'll need to ask you some questions to help work out the numbers. If your calories are too low then you will be going into starvation mode.. too high and you will put on weight. If your ratios aren't good you can gain too. The biggest factor for gaining weight on this program is to over-do the protein. If you stick with the lowest carb veggies those are rarely the issue.. but too much protein or too little protein, too much/not enough calories and a few other foods can make extremely sensitive individuals like us gain weight. I've had to kind of work with my own body to figure out what it wants. Lots of experimenting. Guest guest
Thanks for sharing your story and welcome to the group....your story is not different from any of ours in that we did NOT drink and have been totally blown away by the positive results...even being aware of incidental use and being careful of what we ate. Some very important issues here...NO ONE knows that 1400 is 'too high' for incidental use....esp.when just recently they have found that inhalants actually casue HIGHER levels of Etg then injestion! Depending on how concentrated your urine was...the level could be quite lower if normalized to creatinine level. We have been here over 2 years working on resolving these issues. Lorie has posted the e-mail address of a reporter in a previous post who is doing an article on Etg...please send your story to him...anything may help! We understand how you feel, believe me....we went through ALL the feelings! Did you have any consequences or pending consequences over this? Hang in there...this is a great place for support and ways to sort out solutions! > > Hi guys, > > I have read through all of the posts, very interesting. My story? Guest guest
Hi Niles, Welcome aboard our little life raft. Glad to meet you but so sorry for the reason why. I, too, am a CA RN (N. California), clean 3 1/2 yrs, etoh never an issue. I have had 6 + EtG's for no explainable reason, all in a period from end 4/05 to early 9/05. Levels were from 260-960. It has been a hellish nitemare. The most significant change I have made is to discontinue taking Tylenol in any quantity; I was using @ 3900 mg/day for several mos before & during the + EtG's. I am a maniacal label reader & obnoxiously curious customer or guest when eating out or @ a party, etc re: food preparation & ingredients & my food intake is relatively limited to certain things. Those of us on the site for awhile have developed theories & practices re: avoidance of etoh in ANY form as best we can determine it's presence. Since it is ubiquitous & we are not clairvoyant it leaves room for chance & error; hence, innocent positive EtG results occur. The ridiculousness of the mission of the BRN re: 'protecting the public' in light of the 3 month delay in reporting your + result to you is something I cannot wrap my brain around. That goes for a lot of others, too. And for you, trying to reflect back on what you might have eaten containing some form of etoh is likely futile @ best. Be aware that EtG levels are not meant to be extrapolated back to dose, so 1400 is certainly not too high to be indicative of unintentional exposure & the # itself really means nothing other than there was exposure somehow. Cleaning/cosmetic/hygiene products in large part contain etoh among other things; there is thinking that inhalation & skin absorption can create + EtG's. It's NOT just ingestion & unfortunately the probation monitors & case mgrs for Diversion (my program) & the BRN itself are not well educated @ EtG so their understanding is hazy & often inaccurate. Guest guest
Hi , thanks for the welcome....so far, no consequences from the positive test. I had to inform my employer, she called my probation monitor, i had to submit a letter from my sponsor (who I work with every day), get a letter from my nurse support group leader. I don't know what the final outcome will be. I am meeting with my probation monitor on 06/28. We will see....I did contact the journalist prior to writing to this list...anything I can do, I am there and willing. thanks, Jenn > > > > Hi guys, > > > > I have read through all of the posts, very interesting. Guest guest
Hi Marsha...well, I was actually booted from the diversion program after three successful years, there was a personal conflict between one of the dec monitors and myself. When I was released, I was told it was for failure to derive benefit, when asked what that meant, I was told they didn't have to explain, and that if I wanted to join diversion in the future I could. Well, forget that. I continued to work, stayed clean, and waited for probation to roll around. Now, 7 1/2 years into this, I am still being hassled, even though I do participate in recovery/12 step program, compliant with probation, etc. This whole thing just blows me away. Does anyone know if an Albuterol inhaler can cause a false positive. I do remember having to use my inhaler more often in March than any other time, and wonder if that can have any impact? Again, thanks Marsha, I am sure we will be in touch! Jenn- -- In Ethylglucuronide-EtG , Marsha Dienelt <marshadienelt@...> wrote: > > Hi Niles, > Welcome aboard our little life raft. > If you would like to email me privately, please feel free to do so @ the email address attached to this. I would love to know what part of CA you are in. > Hang with us; we're a good group fighting for a common cause--- exoneration! > Marsha > nilesclay <nilesclay@...> wrote: > Hi guys, > > I have read through all of the posts, very interesting.
