Welcome to the celiac world, Piglet. (My mother is called Rabbit, so we must be related.) My 16-year-old (on Wednesday) daughter, Molly, was diagnosed 14 years ago. A few quick suggestions:*read the www.celiac.com web site, if you haven't already. There's a wealth of information there. Our new and fabulous local web site is www.bayareaceliacs.org.*try the GF products at Whole Foods. They're pricey as heck, but the breads are delicious. Most GF breads are not! Other indulgences: Crave chocolate cake and brownies (at Piazza's and elsewhere -- find out from the Crave site, www.cravebakery.org), "I Can Eat That!" pizza crusts (Draeger's) and Kapcakes ready-to-bake goodies. Other than Whole Foods, all of those bakers are in Northern California and deserve our support. Besides, their stuff tastes delicious, even to a non-celiac like me. Another terrific local web site for goodies and info is Sure Foods Market (www.surefoodsmarket.com). *plan to come to the Stanford Celiac Conference on Sept. 16. I learn something new every year, and it's a day to meet other celiacs and not have to ask if what you're eating is GF.Good luck!Debbie On Jun 10, 2006, at 11:27 PM, piglet95037 wrote:Hi, all. I was just diagnosed this week. My friends call me Piglet (no, I am not kidding!) and as you can tell, I live in Hill. I don't have an appointment with a nutritionist for a few weeks, and I'm feeling very lost, so any help you can offer would be very welcomed! I am reading all I can get my hands on, but I think it's making me more confused.Thx in advance,Piglet

Hi Piglet! Welcome to the boards. I also highly recommend that you

attend the Celiac conference at Stanford in September- there is tons

of great info! Please let us know what kind of food you are used to

eating/ enjoy, so we can give suggestions on how you might transform

your former diet into a gluten free one. If this is what you are

hoping to learn more about that is- if you have other questions,

feel free to ask them and I'm sure you'll get more answers from us

than you know what to do with! Welcome! *hugs*
