New with questions

anyone in or work in new jersey? sopunds like this

might be a state where all you have to do to become a

tech is to get the job! Is my gut right on this? if

this is the case it is SAD! I don't know how close

you are to the state lines, but maybe you could

register and get a job in a neighboring state too.

There are many programs to study pharmacy technician:

Distance learning programs do not have on hands experience but would/should

introduce you to much more than a simple recview book. They range from about

$700 to $1500. In this case I have seen beter programs at $700 than some of the

$1500. But these courses are not needed to pass the PTCB. But you will gain much

more knowledge and be a better tech than a simple study guide book for

preparation for the PTCB exam.

The BEST education and training is a classroom environment with mock labs and

an externship. Of course they will range from $500 to $20,000 depending upon the

state and type and the degree or certificate/diploma status obtained in the end.

This too is not needed to pass the simple PTCB exam! But it will make you the

best tech of the three methods!

Hi Haritha,

You should have no problem getting hired at any pharmacy since you are PTCB

certified. Though it's not required yet, it is " preferred. " You're application

would be looked upon more favorably, you would be the applicant most likely

called in first for an interview. Since you are already a pharmacist, it's my

opinion that you should apply to hospitals first. The pay rate is markedly

higher than at retail pharmacies. And also since the pace isn't as rushed in

the hospital work environment as it is most retail pharmacies and there are more

employees scheduled per shift you may have more time to have another pharmacist

working with you help you get your pharmacy in this country.

I think a lot of us how have or are taking Lex can tell you that the side

effects are very minimal if any. I have been on Lex almost a year now and I

haven't suffered from any side effects and it really has helped me with my

anxiety as well. I would say give it a try and keep your doctor well informed

of any changes that you may go through. If side effects occur, give it at least

2-3 weeks before wanting to be taken off. This gives your body time to adjust.

I see that you also stated that you have a high-stress job. Is there any way

of changing jobs? If you can eliminate unnecessary stress, that will help you

in the long run and help with your health.

Hello!

Welcome. My hearing loss is very similar to yours. Ten-twenty pecent in the

implanted ear and 50% in the other.

My experience has been better than I ever hoped. I have had my Freedom CI

since last August and it gets better daily! As my doctor said, " It seems to

have helped get your life back! " THAT, it has.

I was able to hear within 15 minutes of activation. Sounds I had no idea

about, the buttons on the office phone clicked when they were pressed, the

keyboard on my laptop clicked, as well. What a surprise!

The most important thing is that I can hear speech so much better. One on one

it is 100% better than before. I went from 20% word recognition to 86%. It is

amazing.

I had reservations about the procedure but the good folks on here and other

forums helped a lot.

I don't know whose standard you are quoting there, but I was just reviewing the

Medicare website the other day, and they have set their eligibility threshold at

40% if memory serves me correctly.

right ear

and have auditory neuropathy as well.

I'm on the waiting list for a CI....I'm told that the FDA says that

you have to be 80% deaf to be elegible for the CI.

Hi , Welcome to the group.

I have aspergers though over the years many of my difficulties have gone away.

My son has high functioning autism Dx but I know he too has AS, ADHD and

appraxia combined. Since he has far more toxicity issues than I did as a

child, he seems more severe.

We tried enzymes first. My son showed some improvements but nothing like the

diet.

For some kids, the enzyme is more effective and there is no way of knowing who

responds to what best unless you try them. Starting with enzymes is what I

recommend because even if your child needs the diet, enzymes helped my son to

expand his food choices and thus going on the diet became more easy.

On the topic of DAN dr. I am a huge proponent because my son totally

transformed when we started targeted supplementation (test based). Make sure

you pick a very good DAN dr.

For constipation, try giving Magnesium Citrate.

Hi ,

My 5 year old son was diagnosed with AS in December too. I was very

reluctant to start the diet too and wanted to just try enzymes.

After more research and finding out that most DAN! doctors recommend

the diet, we decided to take the plunge with the diet. It felt

extreme but I felt like we owed my son all attempts to make his live

easier.

There was no immediate dramatic change after starting the diet, but

after 3 weeks we realized he hadn't had a meltdown in that time

period and he was no longer constipated! He has been constipated

since he was 6 months old when we started solids. And I also

breastfed for a couple of years.

So now we are seeing a DAN! for testing and we are doing enzymes and

other supplements. I hope this gives you the courage to attempt the

diet. Give it a good six months. Even if there is no improvement

you won't have any regrets. And even ending the constipation is well

worth it.

I would also recommend reading the McCandless book, Children with

Starving Brains. This might help your husband understand opposing

counsel.

Which allergy symptoms have gone up? Are you talking about nasal stuff? Iodine does tend to increase mucus.

Have never heard about the burning sensation on the soles of the feet.

Good question. I don't know how to tell if baked goods contain bromine. I've noticed a few packages that now say "made with non-brominated flour". I would assume that all flour is brominated now unless you have reason to know otherwise.

I'm feeling a little itchiness on my skin and sneezing maybe 20 times

a day. The sneezing could be explained by my increased energy

encouraging me to go outside to walk more.

I went thru the files and links this morning and something in there (I

think Brownstein) said tingling in your extremities was not a good

sign. On the other hand, I have gotten this sensation for several

kinds of supplements that have turned out to be beneficial.

Sorry for the late reply, . I also had a burning sensation on the

soles of my feet, usually near the ball of the foot. I had actually

forgotten, I'm not sure how, since it worried me a bit. I started on a

lower dose than Iodoral and my burning started perhaps 2 or 3 months

after starting iodine. At times it was quite uncomfortable other times

no burning at all. It lasted for at least a month and then gradually

went away. I don't have any idea what caused it. Hope that helps,

The old saying " If you STINK, take ZINC " , might be true. We have found when we

got rid of the MEAT IN OUR DIET, we didn't even need to wear deodorant.

Hi everyone. I have been reading all of the information here for awhile now.

I hope you will be able to help me.

My husband and I both have many symptoms of candidiasis. The one that I

really need help with for my hubby is the excessive body odor. he works

construction and says after 30 minutes of being at work he can't stand the

smell of himself. We have asked for help from doctors but have not got any

answers. I can't even stand the smell of his towel after showering. He is

currently taking 500 mg of Levaquin for a severe infection in his elbow. I

am worried that this is going to make everything worse. He takes the Daily

for Life Total from Melaleuca which has helped some, but I am sure he needs

to do more. He has severe depression which I am sure is more of a problem

due to the yeast. Please send me any suggestions. Thanks so much Carol

Carol, the saying " eat zinc don't stink " comes to mind. Also,

increasing immune system viability will get rid of infection; the

undenatured whey and selenium play the biggest part in that.

Bonnie beat me to the saying, which I agree to. Removing meat from

the diet however necessitates adding alternative sources of animal

protein such as undenatured whey or eggs, or a pharmaceutical amino

acid supplement.

I've never been much of a meat eater, so I'm not certain if that would

help. I agree that if you do go that route, to make sure you get

other sources of animal protein.

One thing I *highly* recommend with the yeast is AZO Yeast. It's in a

pill form, and designed to keep your yeast levels down, to avoid yeast

infections. However, I take anywhere from 3 to 6 of these a day when

I eat, and nearly all my candidiasis are gone, when I stick to this.

If I miss a few days, then my psoriasis comes right back, and I'm

eating bread and sugar like it's nobody's business.

You can pick these up at Walgreens, Wal-Mart...and one bottle is

usually around $6.00. It's labeled as a homeopathic medicine. I have

a bottle right in front of me, so if you need any information from it,

You can try Bach Flower remedy called " Crab Apple "

Buy 1 - Oz (30ml), from Homeopahy stores.

Take 15 drops in half cup of water, twice daily.

Helps mainly smell of perspiration.

Known to make one smell as sweet as a baby.

Can reduce dosage later as improvement occurs.
