I hear ya -dz-....... The Christmas spirit didn't stop here yet

either....... I got my Granddaughter a karaoke machine that hooks up to

the TV........... She has been wanting one for 2 years..... I also got

her a Holiday Barbie.....Get her one every year. They are for display

and she loves her collection..... My Grandson wants Timberland Boots

just like I have...... They are not cheap...... That is all he

gets....... Oh and I got him a Chicago bears pillow and Fleece

throw......... He loves that team...... Well Have a super Day

There are places all over the web, I have used

amazon.com because they have such a wide variety. I

got online yesterday and ordered gifts for 5 of my

nieces and nephews, charged them on my mc and had them

delivered to their home address. It's really handy

when you have gifts to send out of state. You can also

opt to have them wrapped, but it's an extra $3.50 or

As told before this morning I went te see the Dr. I

thought we would start the treatment but we'll have to

wait.

They found I have haemachromotosis,...to much iron in

my blood. For one year they 'll take of 0.5 l of

blood.

And then the treatment can start

I am sorry to hear that the treatment will be delayed.... Did you say

they will take blood from you for 1 year? Is there anything they can

give you for the iron? Hang in there..... I will say a special prayer

for you!!!!!

I know iron is a concern for the liver. I was told

that if taking vitamins, be sure to get vitamins

without added iron. It must be frustrating to wait,

but remember that most of us have had this for many

years before finding out about it. More than many

other diseases, time is on our side. You may consider

trying milk thistle or some other supplements which

have been found helpful to the liver. Before I started

treatment, milk thistle alone got my ALT down, so I

I'll check the dosage. It calls for up to 3 times

daily and I usually take it only 2 times, just because

it's inconvenient for me to take it at work. I did use

another milk thistle product that had some other

ingredients in it, but other than that, nothing else.

I'll tell you more when I can check it out. -dz-

Sorry to hear that you will not be able to start treatment as soon as you

thought. Just hang in there and be patient. We want for you to have the best

chance for treatment to work.

Sharon, That is a really good point: that your body can tolerate the

treatment better while it is strong! *IF* I have it, I would not want to

wait more than a couple of years for alternatives...

I will have to let make up his own mind re what he wants to do for

treatment...I worry about him taking interferon, becxause he already suffers

from chronic depression (has all his life, maybe from having had polio as a

child, thus spending much time in early years in hospital, who knows?) I

will be so glad when further tests are done so we have more information.

Thanks to this group, I at least know some of the questions to ask the

doctors.

The treatment is not recommended for those suffering from serious depression. It causes depression in patients that did not suffer from it prior to the treatment. That is a big factor in determining whether to recommend this treatment or not. -dz-
