Terri,

Let our support and friendship be your warmth. We could melt a glacier.

We are sending out our Prayers and thats gotta count for something.

Imagine us up this late (or early) and reaching out to comfort you during

this stressful time, Dear girl, it does not get any better than this.

Just picture MGB people all over the U.S holding hands and praying for

you and everyone out there who needs our prayers. What a beautiful

Christmas picture!!! we are singing " We Are The World " also... :-)

We got you covered,

Well Lynnette, I am so sorry. I am not a big poster, but I do read all the

posts. I wish I had replied to you though. Please do not give up on us.

We don't mean to ignore anyone. Give us another chance and tell us where

you are in your journey. Are you looking for the MGB? If so I would be

glad to be a contact if you need one. I had my MGB on 9/29/00. Love ya,

Betty in Western NC

and pre-ops, and those just receiving insurance approval. Not one soul here

has even spoke to me the few times I did post except in Ohio, who

had the RNY. My disappointment is beyond words. I have felt very

" overlooked " for lack of a better word. Usually I see most of this group

respond to almost every one out here....for some reason except me. Maybe I

am just feeling blue right now, but I thought with getting insurance

approval I would have heard something from someone...Maybe this isn't the

group I need. I feel excited for all that I read about that will be

" dancing " or those with approval that have been waiting. I am still " new "

to this egroup, but AM discouraged.....

Terri,

I have a real stupid reply to your last paragraph and please do not take me

at all seriously. If you are living in -33 degree wind chill weather, you

do not want this surgery. I am in Western North Carolina and our lows at

night are usually low 40's right now and I am FREEZING. I have always been

hot natured and loved cold weather. But since surgery, my feet just plain

get cold.

Now listen, that is not a reason for not having surgery. Just a lighter

note. We wish you all the luck in the world. If you do not have all your

contacts, let me know by private email. bettyjohn@... Love to

ya. Betty

Lynette,

Darling, did we over-look you? You know as a post op, I rarely find the time to

read all the post that come in my mail everyday.. somedays I have over 200 to

run through, and I may only answer posts that are directed to me..

Please forgive me for not congratulating you.. and by all means welcome to our

club!!! My name is Trudy, you've probably undoubtedly read a bunch of my

babble. Please note I will look for your posts in the future, and honestly try

not to ignore you anymore. What can I say you must have just snuck through !!!

Hugs,

Trudy

Hi

I'm new to this group too. I have posted only a couple of posts and

Terri,

If I am not mistaken the mammogram is required for anyone who should be

having one anyway. Your family history and the doctor's opinon are what

decides it, I think. After a certain age it is required. Just ask if

the Dr. would normally have told you that you needed one.

Thanks Betty! I am having the Lap RNY. My doc sent me to this specialist in

Va Beach, Va. This is the procedure that he does. I am scared though. I

love to read the posts that everyone puts out here. I read daily. Wish I

were having the MGB and with Dr R also. Guess I will use this support group

anyway even after having a RNY.

May God Bless you!!

If you wish you were having the MGB then why aren't you. If your doc won't

support you get another. Guess I don't understand. This is your body. Sorry

if I sound harsh, I don't mean to. Best of luck,

Can anyone help with an explanation of the difference between the old loop

method and Dr R method (Billroth II?). this appears to be major

misconception that other doctors have according to article in web site.

This plus the manual pointing out potential problems of RNY may give you

enough information to have your doctor change his mind on the best course of

action.

Lynnette,

Pla...leeze, I am nobody special.. I just babble on alot. I only work on

week-ends and that gives me lots of time (usually) during the day to come on

here, and read and post. But, I have been trying to change my old habits of

sitting around the house by going shopping or visiting a couple times a week. On

the week-ends I work Fri. and Sat. nights and some Sundays, and so I have a

difficult time keeping up with all the posts.

You'll see that as we post ops loose more weight, and get more energy, and

think less about food the less we all post on here. I intend on trying to read

them everyday, and answer all those that pertain particularly to me.

Just so people like you won't feel left out... Okay.

This is the warmest place to be in the whole world when you have been

discriminated all your life for being over weight, laughed at and judged by your

size... everyone here has gone through this (more than once) and we just all

need the warmth, and love of people who know how it feels... it's unconditional.

We ask weight only because we know it's gonna change (drop) we ask physical

conditions only because we have had them, or have them ourselves. We share

humiliating stories because we KNOW someone else has experienced the same thing.

I'm nobody special, Lynnette. I'm just exactly like you, someone who wants to

be accepted. . . first here, and someday by being more normal in size accepted

by everyone, without discrimation.

Love and Hugs,

Trudy
