Group,

I rarely post, but read everyday. I WAS so enthusiastic about this group.... I

would read all the encouraging mail, the trouble spots, the glory each of you

have shared, etc. I read as you congratulate newcomers and pre-ops, and those

just receiving insurance approval. Not one soul here has even spoke to me the

few times I did post except in Ohio, who had the RNY. My disappointment

is beyond words. I have felt very " overlooked " for lack of a better word.

Usually I see most of this group respond to almost every one out here....for

some reason except me. Maybe I am just feeling blue right now, but I thought

with getting insurance approval I would have heard something from

someone...Maybe this isn't the group I need. I feel excited for all that I read

about that will be " dancing " or those with approval that have been waiting. I

am still " new " to this egroup, but AM discouraged.....

Just getting my feelings out there....

Lynnette,

I am just like Bonnie. I don't know enough to answer, but I read every

single post. I have had to change my PCP because he wouldn't support this

surgery, wouldn't even listen. I found another doctor that would and like

you there have already been times it has been hard. I called my insurance

and told I was not covered, called my NEW doctor and she said

" Let's take this step by step...first a physical and THEN she will write a

letter to my insurance company. BUT no matter what, I am having this

surgery, even if I have to get a loan to get it. I would make a payment for

this surgery than a car....lol

Don't get discouraged.....it could be a bumpy ride. :-)

And I am sorry if you felt neglected or ignored...just join in.....EVERYBODY

is the same here, just great sharing people.

No one wants you to feel left out. I sent about 5 emails for contacts for each

one I recieved an answer. It is such a busy time of year. I notice that at

certain times even this list is quiet. We are all so busy getting ready for the

holidays. It is NOTHING personal. We are happy you are here and welcome you to

the list and our little family. I have only been on here since the end of

September. I am having my MGB on 12/22. If you can wait that long I will be

happy to be a contact for you. Just keep posting and we will be there for you.

Everyone here is one big

family........newbies......oldies.......post-ops.....etc. It just takes time

for everyone to get to know eachother as there are so many of us, and so many

emails a day.

Please let me know if I can be of any help to you as you enter the MGB

, Sorry to hear you ever felt ignored. If you still need contacts,

please let me know. I'll gladly be one for you. Sometimes, there are so

many postings, I just delete them all cause I don't have time to read them.

If I ignored you, that was how. This is a great group, the greatest really,

and please don't take anything like that personally. Just try again. Peace.

Sheesh! Are we messing up here?

Lynette, please don't take your lack of responses personally. We don't know

you, certainly don't dislike you. I am sorry that you've not been responded

to. I keep thinking that I need to shut up and let others do the talking,

and so I have often chosen not to respond, assuming others would. And I'll

bet some others have done the same.

I am so happy for you having gotten insurance approval. That's a huge hurdle

to have behind you. I promise to look for your name and respond to you for

as long as I'm on this site. One thing you'll experience yourself, after

you've crossed over, is that we get back into our lives after surgery, and

have less and less time for this life-sustaining site. Before surgery, we're

obsessed and on this site all the time. Afterwards we wean ourselves. You

are a welcome and important part of this dialogue. Sorry we didn't let you

feel that.

Please, keep telling us about your path toward this new life. We're here,

even if we're not always paying absolute attention! Fondly, PhillyJude

Lynnette,

Please do not be discouraged. I am someone who posts more than I should,

I do get some responses, but many times none. As you can see there is

some e-mail bonding that is going on this site. I tend to get sensitive

myself at times and I did have a slow start getting people to even answer

my private E-mail requests for contacts. Several who post a lot totally

ignored my request even when I just asked if I could use information they

put on the main E-mail. I have a friend who is trying to get the surgery

as well, EVERYONE she has E-mailed responded to her!! That really made

me feel overlooked!!!

I have however, met several truly wonderful people who were kind,

considerate and thoughtful. Please keep in mind that there are a lot of

people on this site and sometimes it is overwhelming when you get over a

hundred group e-mails a day!!

I am trying myself to get approved by the insurance company and to finish

my packet. If you E-mail me I will respond.

at bedsoleboyd2@....

Good Luck and keep up those spirits!! :-)

Lynnette,

Please don't feel ignored. I, too, felt the same way for awhile. Sometimes

I still do. But, this is the greatest bunch of people. They certainly

don't mean to make anyone feel left out or unwanted on the list. We all

just get caught up in this exciting life that we have found and occasionally

slip up. Just keep posting and hang in there and if there is anything I can

do to help you, please let me know. If you have insurance approval you are

over the biggest hurdle and on your way. Congratulations and I hope you

will be joining us on the other side soon.

Lynnette,

Sorry, I didn't mean to hurt your feelings. I feel that I am a newcomer

myself, I mostly post when I have questions to ask. However I do read

almost every post, but I usually leave the answering to others who have

more experience than I do. Congrats on your insurance approval, I am

scared to death I am going to be turned down; but then I've got alot of

work to do before I even get to that point. Do you have a date yet?

Best of luck.

Welcome. First get that ultra sound done and try not to worry. We are here

for you to help you through the process to " the dance " and anything else you

might need. Just try to stay warm.....-33 wind chill, yuck! Reminds me of my

growing up years in Chicago. We lived only 1/2 mile from the lake so it was

extra cold with the wind coming off the lake. I remember the thick blue wool

pants my mother made me wear under my dress ( we had to wear dresses back in

them " olden " days). Do you have any snow now?

Hi

I'm new to this group too. I have posted only a couple of posts and

had just a few respond. But I figured as time went on and I posted

more, I'd get more " into the group " . I had my physical last week. My

Mammogram came back with some problems, so I have an ultrasound

scheduled for this week <praying that all is well there>, then I hope

to get really moving. I hope to send my letter to Dr R this week -

was waiting on the blood test results as I didn't know my Cholestral,

etc... Ya'll make me want to HURRY and get this done!! :)

I'm hoping to be able to do THE DANCE in January or February. :)

In all honesty, I cant wait to become a " reg " so that I know what

some of you all are talking about!!! I mean, stink meters, and poop

stories <G> and the general friendships.

Hang in there :)

PhillyJude,

I really appreciate your e-mail. I no longer feel ignored. I am just a

bit crazy.. You know that we all need comforting and being new is scary

in itself. I meant for that post to be sent privately, as a comfort that

she is not alone thinking her thoughts and being " overly sensitive " . We

probably all have issues with acceptance. I did not mean you. The

people I spoke of I do not see much on here any more. My kids are

driving me crazier than I seem to already be!! I meant to respond to Flo

privately as well...

Oh well, call it tiredness... I am anxious to dance as well... I do

not take the silence personally, well maybe sometimes, but then I get

over it and get a reality check!! There are a LOT of e-mailers on this

group and it can be overwhelming for the post-ops. We are really a bunch

of " needful things " at times in our frenzy to get the surgery.

Please don't be worried and know you are not one of the people I spoke

of. I am sure I probably e-mailed them at a bad time. You are great and

I can't wait to read your progress reports. I guess I am living

vicariously through you post-ops. I am looking forward to experiencing

it for myself!!!

I have never felt so accepted and really understood as I have on this

e-group. Just ignore my outbursts.

I am really proud of your progress!!!

Hugs :-)

, you're not crazy. Or if you are, I *really* understand that kind of

crazy. Glad you put your feelings out there (even if it was by mistake). Hope

the neglect feels less personal now.

Marg,

You bet I will. I will be dancing in the streets if I get approved in

time to dance in Jan!!! I have bugged the Insurance company and really

put on my sad pitiful face for them. They probably will approve me just

to free up their phone lines!!! Its kind of a cosmic thing, we all are

dancing together at different times!!! Dr. R better have a fresh pair of

dancing shoes by the time I get there!!! We are going to be like Fred

and Ginger!!! Oh No!!! I think I just dated myself and forgot the

corsage!!! I may never go out with myself again, nah, I will be dating

myself for a long time I think!!!

Hugs, and Prayers :-)

Where are you anyway? I am in Alabama.
