For some reason this reminds me of when I was a

teenager or perhaps early 20s. I used to watch The

Wild Wild West with Conrad... *drool*

I used to fantasize that I was in the WWWest and was

in his train, me at about 200 pounds and he was being

nice to me but not interested in me, of course,

because I was so fat. So I stood up, went into the

next boxcar and took off my fat suit... went back to

see him and Artie (somehow wearing another dress that

actually fit now)... and they would both fight over

me.

Now that I look back, I realize how sad that was...

The stuff put into our heads that we're not worthy or

acceptable if fat... what a shame...

Alyssa,

even if they deny you there are ways to fight them, I did.....although I

had a different insurance company it was secondary to medicare. they flat

out said no.....we argued and fought for 4 months and then finally I said I

wanted it to go the medicare review board (becuz I knew medicare pays for it

although Regence said they didnt!) They actually lied thru their teeth all

the way.....I wonder if medicare knows they lied? (and cigna is reputed to

be much better than Regence which is thru BC/BS)

The waiting was torture for me but thru it all, I learned alot more from

just being here, soaking up all the information, being able to be supportive

to newbies coming behind me and generally learning to be patient which was

not one of my virtues. When I quit thinking about myself and focused on

others, I got approval!

By the way, did you know its cigna that makes tummy tucks and plastic

surgery easier to get afterwards? <grin>

Anyway, you WILL get there and we will be with you all the way!

Hugs, Judie

Because of the way the story unfolds, they needed a slender person

because that is how Hal sees her -- he doesn't see her as obese like

everyone else does. So the actress playing the character wears the

fat suit for our (the viewers) benefit, but doesn't wear it when his

attention is focused on her. Her 'inner beauty' -- get it?

Oh Alyssa, hang in there! In the three months before my DS I had

outgrown my size 28 jeans. I couldnt zip them at all, only could

button the button at the top of the zipper,so the zipper gaped open.

I wore shirts that covered it, but only had two of those that even

fit me anymore. I was so discouraged!

Your time will be here before you know it. Its a drag waiting, and

feeling so miserable, but it also motivates us, and keeps us focused

during the wait time. Bless you, Meli

Oh, please don't knock pantyhose! I go back thousands of years to the era of

GIRDLES having to hold my stockings up! Even at my heaviest I refuse to wear

a girdle! Compressed in the middle, excess rolls out the top & bottom, I'd

look ( & feel) like a dumbbell! (Guess I could don a cape and enlist as a

sidekick to SuperBatwingGirl!)

BTW, I'm sure Mr. Polyester was a Mr....and he's probably the

same evil bastard who is responsible for pantyhose. Kick on!

I don't know how old you are, but I sure remember the time before pantyhose. I

don't want to go back there anymore. I remember the garter belts that would

slide down because the nylon stockings were a bit too short.. Or trying to

attach the hook in the back of my leg that just didn't want to cooperate. Just

trying to find stockings that would fit a large woman that weren't thick support

was fun.

I remember my first garterbelt at the age of 13; it felt so weird to

have those things pressed into the backs of my thighs when I sat down

in church! I was in the 7th grade when my mother bought me a pair of

panty hose, and I thought I'd never get them on right. The

relationship between me and ph has gone downhill since then...

I personally don't care for stockings but when they are necessary,

thigh-highs (which right now resemble tall knee highs on me) or knee

highs are the extent to which I am willing to torture myself.
