Hi,

I had United Health Care PPO and they were great approved 1st time. I Went

in on June 5 2001 and had the DS on JULY 18, 2001.

I have United Healthcare Select POS and had NO trouble whatsoever. NONE. I

was very happy with how fast they came through. After the Dr. office

submitted my paperwork, I found out I was approved within 3 days. Good luck

I spoke with the insurance coordinator for Dr. Herron at Mount Sinai. I

have BC/BS United Healthcare and he said that there was no problem with

approval for the procedure. At times, the approval may take several

weeks.

Kathi, get thee to an Opthamologist ASAP, that sound like my symptoms when I

was dx with Iriris. And yes it hurts a lot! You'll have to get to know your

Optho well, I have to see mine every six months now. When I was in my first

major flare, which for me started with my red, swollen, extremely painful

ears, the RP moved into my eyes which was very painful. The dr treated it

with steroid eye drops, took about two weeks to clear up. So, make yourself

an appointment soon. I'm lucky to be in Chicago, my Optho knew what RP was

and had even treated a few cases, so it didn't throw him for a loop.

the time I have only the eye pain and loss of half my sight...with alot of

glare... Then the headache will come later... The pressure is terrible

behind the eye... I know exactly what you are talking about, in fact I had

one this week. some times bright lights will trigger mine.. Sorry you have

this too...

info about stents and I Kept wondering how you were doing.... What are you

coming back here for this time? I hope nothing serious... Please let me

know.. I wish I lived closer to San Diego, I'd come visit you. We could have

coffee or lunch.

I'm sorry about the headache.. It sounds just like mine.. I only started

getting them about a year ago.. Don't know what to do for them... I thouhgt

it was brought on by Chiari Malformation that I have but the neuro said no...

They just seem to appear out of no where.. .. It has happened a couple of

times while I was driving and that scared me... I pulled over the first time

and spent a few hours in a book store. LOL Good choice when you can't see.

When you get back or feel up to it, could you write a little about stents....

Hi , This morning i when i woke up and opened my eyes they were so sensitive to the light. There was redness only in the middle of my eye on the right and left side, it was the right eye. All of my eye flares start in the right eye. It really wasn't sore like my normal eye flares. It felt like the light was causing the pain. The day before i was taking asprin for a headache that i had. I didn't think about my headache i had yesterday until i read what you wrote. It was like the front of my head was hurting. I haven't had a headache in such a long time. That was probably my warning that something was getting ready to happen. I don't know???

I miss you all. I will be back on regularly as soon as i finish seeing this doctor in CA. I will be back their next week. I will be at UCSD Medical center San Diego.

beginning... Don't know what it means after you have been on it awhile.. Have

you increased your dose? I know how bad the headaches are.... you have my

sympathy along with the nausea... MY dr prescribed something for the mouth

ulcers and I can't think now what it was... I would call the dr if it

continues and ask... .

i just received word that mike(nephew) was not at work

at the pentagon yesterday, for some reason he had been

sent to one of the air force detachments to work for

this week. Thank God for small favors. So that

means mine are present and accounted for. That sure

is a relief.

Put in a call to your Rheumy, and tell him what happened. He may not want you to comtinue the drug. Remember I had an allergic reaction after 9 weeks of metho.
