Omnsbudsman for Ga.I don't live there, but I am sure you have some sort of

Get a clarification. That may be what they pay for the surgeon's fee.

The other things, like hospitalization and anesthesia are generally not

referred to by the insurance company in that way, with any sort of " cap "

on the amount they pay. So they may be talking about just the surgeon's

bill and they may cover the hospital and anesthesia as well.

Ask until you get straight answers.

I found that my son couldn't tolerate a teaspoon of DMG. He's 5 1/2 and I give

him 3/4 now. We started at a teaspoon and dropped to 1/2. After 2 months I

upped it to 3/4. He still doesn't seem ready for a full teaspoon and he's been

on 3/4 now for 3 months.

Welcome to the group! Sorry you have RP but glad that you found us. This is

the greatest group of people you will ever have the chance to meet. We are all

here for each other. We laugh, we cry and moan and groan and we have a lot of

fun!

I live in Oregon and have had RP for over 7 yrs. now. I live a fairly normal

life.(Okay so it hasn't been too normal lately..) I am 44 yrs. old have two

grown children and am raising my 5 yr. old granddaughter. Life with RP can be a

hassle but I am lucky not to flare all the time. I am taking Imuran which is an

immunosurpressant.

Again welcome and post some more so we can get to know you!

spoke with heidi the other day and if the rest of the

group is as sweet, kind and understanding as she is i

think this is where i belong. i have been suffering

flare ups but until today was not officially

diagnosed. now i am. i'm new to this so bear with me.

i have gone to the club site but for some reason it

says i am still a guest but after sending this mail i

will try again. thank you all for giving me a place to

Sandy, so sorry that you had your RP confirmed! I know what a blow that is,

I was just dx last June and it's a tough thing to hear. Don't panic, RP can

be managed, altho we're still waiting for a cure! Find out as much as you

That is too bad, because my son was dx'd exactly as yours, and I found that

the preschool program taught him far more than a couple of speech lessons.

A child who is delayed needs both, and if there is any chance your son is on

the spectrum, he needs the interaction of other children to help him along.

Other than the outbursts towards other children, my son was exactly like

this at the same age. He is now 5, and through " floortime " , preschool,

diet, speech, ot and pt, he has made incredible strides. I tried to not

focus on the label, but rather I on where my son needed improvement. For

him, it was behavior, first, social skills second and speech third. He is

now only 6 months behind his peers, and I'm more than pleased.

Well, its tricky but you will have to become accustom to making more foods

from scratch and relying on only a handful of mixes or packaged foods. I

found it was harder to go corn free. As far as the behavior improving on

diet, yes! That was the area where we saw the most improvement. It sounds

hard to believe, but we've proven it over and over. Any infraction of

casein or gluten causes my son to become difficult. His voice gets louder

and he screams answers at your face, rather than use a pleasant voice. He

gets whiny, and becomes an overall crab! I also found that the diet made

his runny nose stop! It was worth it just for that.

should do the same... This is getting rediculous....I haven't heard from

Judy, but have heard from . I missed a call from her today. Will call
