Sounds like you had a dumping episode - probably from the milk. Most of

us are lactose intolerant after surgery - and milk is just lactose

which is a sugar!! Bummer, huh? I was craving milk the first few weeks.

Could practically taste it going down......(I love milk, oh well!)

Your weight loss is fine. I too was a fairly slow loser and still am

(2.5 monthes out) . You will find that it will not be a steady thng,

this losing weight. You will have plateuas when you lose nothing, you

will have weeks where you lose like crazy, others when you lose the

reccommended 3-6 lbs. Your age makes a difference (boo hoo for me), the

older the slower. Your metabolism is just fighting the change in your

body - dont worry - it will come off.

Please keep me informed of your progress!

Carolyn,

Unless you are a well conditioned athlete a heart rate below 60 is too low.

I've asked here before and now forget exactly what a good target resting

heart rate is but I know it's higher than 60.

Hi all...My name is karon...operation date is Jan.14....Just around

the corner. I am 50 years old and a mother of 2 grown kids...I given

my word to my daughter that I would go horse back ridding with her on

Mothers Day. The first day of the rest of my life is coming soon...At

this point of my life I have NO QUALITY of life. I have always been a

" BIG " girl but I was active..running a day care for 12 years. Well I

went back to " outside of the home " work and SAT down in 1996 and

forgot to stand up again. My day is...Get out of bed..SIT and have

coffee..go out and SIT in my car and drive to work...take the elevator

to my job and SIT in a chair..most of the time I forget to go to the

bathroom...after all that would mean I would have to stand up...leave

work 8 hours later and SIT in my car to SIT and eat super and go to

bed. I can not walk long enough to go shopping...But with my Handy

Cap Plate on my car I can almost drive into a restauant and SIT and

eat....Well this is my year to shine..This year I will go horse back

riding..I will buy a bike..I will quit my job and get OFF my ...BY now

my BIG FLAT A--...I will walk and stop to smell the roses..I will live

every day like there is no tomorrow..

" Hearts will never be practical until they can be made

unbreakable..So remember..A heart is not judged by how much you love,

but by how much you are loved by others " I will take time to love

myself!!!!! kisses and stay safe!!!

Sabina....the triangular appearance refers to the fact that RSS children tend to

have broad foreheads with small features rather crowded towards the bottom of

the face. They tend to have small mouths and chins in relation to their

foreheads. Someone else said that their heads are kind of 'lightbulb'

shaped...thought htis was quite an apt description!

Having said all that RSS kids are VERY CUTE!!

good luck

Eileen

(p.s.also they can have low set and sometimes protruding ears)

I am a new member and havde not posted before. My daughter is still

in the investigation stage, she was diagnosed to have skeletal

dysplasia before birth due to short limbs but after birth was labeled

proportionate IUGR. She has some characteristics of RSS, IUGR (3-15

lb and 15.5inches at 36 weeks), large forehead with mild bossing,

huge fontanels, blue sclera (a rarer trait), and feeding problem,

delayed bone age. I dont understand the triangle

face thing, because none of the pictures of the RSS kids have seen

the faces look triangular to me. She is on NG tube for almost a year,

she now eats on her own during the day (4 meals each about 4 ounches

formula+cereal+baby food mixed to about 30 cal/oz) and 9 hour drip

feed at night. Despite her weight she has a cubby appearance. THe

geneticist didnt think she was

RSS but did not outright rule it out. Her endo is testing for GH,

Noonan syndrome, etc. but has not mentioned RSS. posted a couple of

pictures (they are taken at 9 and 12 months) in the album under

Naomi. She is now 12.5 lbs and 23 inches, but is quite " chubby " in

appearance despite the low weight. Wanted some opinion from experts

here on RSS.

, I second that!!!! But it will pass, eventually...... as the saying

goes, good things come to those who wait, or something like that. 4 weeks
