Guest guest Posted October 29, 2006 Report Posted October 29, 2006 I am really curious as to why you post with a 22 character line width. It can make your longer posts difficult to read. mjhBrend"The Basil Book"http://foxhillfarm.us/FireBasil/ week course of Diflucan 2 days ago. Guest guest Posted October 29, 2006 Report Posted October 29, 2006 Good post . We have a long way to go, thats for sure! [low dose naltrexone] Some people get the wrong idea about LDN Some think LDN is supposed to get rid of all their symptoms, make balance better, walk better, stand them up out of a wheelchair....not true. LDN is meant to slow down and hopefully halt disease progression and if one does happen to get symptom improvement on LDN then you got lucky. If you were lucky and got symptom improvement be aware that those symptoms can erupt at any time and there are many factors that can trigger these eruptions.I just went thrugh 3 days of my hamstrings of both legs drawing and cramping, my MS is extremely weather sensitive and ys, it was the crazy weather pattern here that was triggering this, did I panic and fear my LDN had stopped working?...NO. Yesterday the sun came out and the muscles in my legs improved and all's well today.Stress is one of the worst triggers to cause negative symptoms to erupt and as long as you are under stress your symptoms are going to be bad. There are other factors that can cause LDN to suddenly stop working in someone who has had success with LDN let's say 2, 3, 4 or more years. First make sure you are not under stress, have an infection, make sure your pharmacy hasn't made any changes to how your LDN is being prepared, have you taken antibiotics or anything else that might be an immune suppressant, have you recently had surgery, a colonoscopy or any amalgam dental fillings put in, mold exposure, then look at the possibility of candida yeast overgrowth, candida can live in the gut but it can also live in the bloodstream...getting it out of the bloodsteam is difficult and may take a 2 to 3 week or more course of prescription Diflucan(Nystatin cannot reach the bloodstream). Amalgam/mercury dental fillings keep the candida fueled. Dr. McCandless said it is cruel for a dentist to put amalgam dental fillings in an autistic child's mouth so mom's of autistic kids beware. Does your diet consist of junk food and do you sit on your duff all day getting zero exercise?...your muscles will waste away if you do not exercise them. For those who start out on LDN but continue to progress with new symptoms. Remember, not everyone will succeed with LDN but I do believe the majority will(approx 75% to 80% will succeed in my opinion which is not a professional one). First make sure your LDN is being compounded correctly, NO CALCIUM CARBONATE is to be used as a filler in the LDN capsules. Have you ruled out Lyme disease via a Western Blot test by IGeneX Labs, Lyme is the great imitator of Multiple Sclerosis. Could you have candida yeast overgrowth(causes are many), you may be eating a food that acts in your system as an exogenous opioid narcotic drug and LDN can block that and cause you negative symptoms(usually these foods are sugar, dairy, gluten, soy and possibly corn). These are just some things you may look at.I am always searching for ways to improve my LDN experience. I've improved my diet...I eat 100% all organic foods and I use some supplements, get massage therapy, get exercise, I do have a positive spiritual belief, I have great family and friends who add positive emotions to my life, I generally get adequate sleep, I have a wonderful doctor who is encouraging me every step of the way, and since my fungal/yeast history from the past was so bad and I could possibly have candida still in the blood stream, for my own peace of mind I started a 3 week course of Diflucan 2 days ago. I do not get the flu shot as they contain mercury and thalidomide, I stay away, if at all possible from any doctor who does not believe in alternative medicine. Quote

Effort and sacrifice has got to become part of our overall therapy and not just expect LDN to do it all. I wonder, for example, how many here still smoke cigarettes and think it doesn't effect their health? I quit June 1993 after being up to three packs a day. I was overdosing on nicotine. Also, the garbage masquerading as meals in the fast food joints (Mcs, Baskin Robins, Dunkin Donuts) should not be part of the diet of those who are chronically ill such as us. It may be tasty, but it is not good for our health. I avoid this stuff like the tax collector. Artie Quote
Guest guest Posted October 29, 2006 Report Posted October 29, 2006 Some things we do that are good for our health still may not help us walk better or feel better, etc but you'll never know unless you try. I did have to be realistic with myself though. I know no matter how hard I exercise that the areas of my body that had bad paralysis is not going to get a whole lot better but the muscles around those damaged areas can be kept in good shape by exercise, proper diet, etc. Artie brought up something I hadn't thought about because I've never smoked, but quitting smoking would be a plus in your overall health and the health of those around you. I do not allow anyone to smoke anywhere near me. LDN can slow or halt progression and sometimes help symptoms, you must do the rest to maintain what LDN gives you. Probably next year I will start having these amalgam fillings removed and replaced with composites and then once all have been replaced I will do oral chelation. May not make one bit of difference but it will give me peace of mind. ========= > > > > > > > > > > Some think LDN is > > supposed to get rid of > > all their symptoms, make > > balance better, walk > > better, stand them up > > out of a > > wheelchair....not true. > > LDN is meant to slow > > down and hopefully halt > > disease progression and > > if one does happen to > > get symptom improvement > > on LDN then you got > > lucky. I cannot sit at a computer for long due to past paralysis of my entire torso years back. Quote
Guest guest Posted October 30, 2006 Report Posted October 30, 2006 Hi, I just joined this list. Has anyone used LDN for a child with autism? If so, I'd appreciate hearing results. Thanks, Cate Portland, OR Quote

Thanks, > Cate > Portland, OR > Cate, You should consider joining this group: Autism_LDN/ This is a group for discussing and reporting treatment results with LDN (low dose naltrexone) in autism spectrum disorder. This is a new treatment and the goal is to get as much information as possible to help parents decide if this is an appropriate and safe treatment for their autistic child. Quote

Guest guest Posted October 30, 2006 Report Posted October 30, 2006 Thank you. I'll do that, and should probably get off this list, then. I see some interesting postings from adults with autoimmune issues here. I have rosacea, so maybe I should try LDN too :-). And eat coconut oil. I hit resize page to see if that will make any diffrence. Webtv and MSN TV do not work the same, lots of features with the old webtv were left out of MSN TV, I hate this thing...they do not make webtv any longer. I hope to get my old webtv refurbished in the near future. Quote
