I'm praying that nothing serious comes of this. Please let us know when you get

back home.

Re:

I'm on my way to the ER unfortunately. My new neighbors who just

moved in today (about 19-20 yrs old) came down the stairs swinging

their 3 year old son who's feet landed squarely in my abdomen. On the

left side of all places...at least I won't have to wait long as the

CT and ulrasound have already been ordered. Keeping my fingers

crossed there isn't any internal bleeding...I use a fairly good

amount of heparin to flush my picc line.

Hopefully the next block will sustain me. Thanks.

Mark - sorry to hear you were in the hospital again. Hope you are feeling

better soon. Amazing how times have changed...when my mother-in-law had

kidney stones 15 years ago they kept her in the hospital for two weeks until

she had passed three stones. Still am not sure which is best (and we did

talk her into throwing them away last year when they downsized into an

apartment).

Mark,

So sorry to hear about the kidney stone. Hope it passes quickly

Hello all......Today has been a painful day, but not because of my

pancreas.....I just got back from the ER and I have a Kidney stone......It is a

good amount of pain, but I had always thought that passing a stone is one of the

worst pains you can get. It isn't even close.....It does hurt quite a bit but

only when it is on the move......I haven't passed it yet, but hopefully it will

happen pretty soon...All I can say is, atleast it isn't my panc that is hurting

that caused the ER visit

I hope this finds you and your well

I went in her bedroom and got 2 Excedrin. Went back in to the

kitchen to fix me a glass of water, got the glass out, put the ice in

it. Went to pour the water and I couldn't find my pills. That is

because i put them IN THE ICE!

Oh well just another case of cerebral flatuance.

LOL, !

Reassuring to know that someone else has these momentary

cerebral episodes! Yesterday I was unpacking groceries and

talking to Austin at the same time. I put the liquid dishwashing

detegent in the refrigerator and his container of Hi-C underneath

the sink!

Mark,

Hope that you feel better soon. I just acquired a rather large kidney stone

that is too large to pass and is stuck in the right kidney. I will probably

have surgery on it in february. Too busy to deal with it right now unless it

acts up. But my kidney doc said to saty away from xtra salt. Juat thought

that I would give you a littel tip to perhaps prevent another one in the

future. IN addition, you need to at least urinate 2 liters of fluid a day

to keep the kidneys flushed.Take care and I hope your stone hits the bottom

of the soon. Listen for the ker- plunk sound and then praise GOD that

it is over ! ( smile !)

Take Care,

Lily

My mom's story was similar to yours. After several bouts of excruciating pain

she finally went to the ER. She was told she had one small kidney stone. Don't

worry it will pass. She went to the urologist the next day. He looked at the

x-rays and told her that she had 3 large stones. Each one way too big to pass

on its own. She also had to have a stent for a while and said it was miserable.

RE: Mark

Mark:

OK, i wasn't going to share this but sicne everyone else is telling their

kidney stone stories I will tell mine.- At least the last one. I had back

pain and noticed bright blood in my urine. THe stone was seen on x-ray, but

I was told it was small and would pass on its own.- Drink lots of water,

strain your urine. So I did, problem is 2 days later I awoke with

excruciating pain. Back to the doc. this time was told that the " small "

stone had obstructed. They did a cysto and went in after it. broke it up and

what they didn't get, I eventually passed. Trouble is I had to have a stent

to keep the ureters open. For 2 weeks. this was much worse than the stone.

It caused major bladder spasms to the point I could barely walk. The only

way I could function was with B&O suppossitories ( Belladona & Opium). Now I

am told I have 2 more, one in each kidney but they are up high, not causing

any problems and should pass on their own.- Yeah right, I've heard that one

before.

I hope you have better luck with yours. Having to deal with the pain of

kidney stones on top of the CP stinks. Best of luck to you.

I'm not sure which your msg was meant for but I'll answer in case it was

for me. I do not have chronic panc (or so they say) I have recurring acute

panc. I was doing absolutely wonderful with my health and energy level at the

highest I can remember when I was hit in mid-july with acute panc. I've been in

the hospital six times since then and haven't fully recovered. I'm seeing a GI

surgeon who specializes in biliary surgery on Oct 21st. For now I mostly take

lortab 5 and phenergan for my pain and nausea. I have both 25 mg phenergan

tablets and suppositories. I was taking Lortab 10 at first but now I mostly

stick with the lortab 5, although sometimes I do need two to keep the pain at

bay. I also have some mepergan capsules which are demerol and phenergan

together. I'm not sure what the mg amount of each is. I don't have many of

those left and the doctor told me he cannot call in demerol over the phone so

I'm saving them in case I have a really bad attack.

What do you take for pain and nausea on a daily basis and the dosages

please? I need this info for my doctor. from Canada
