Bill, my apologies if in deconstructing your initial helpful words I

caused you to share more than you planned to at this point. You'll find

that on the whole, we're strongly against RAI here. This is not to say

that people don't go on to lead satisfying, productive lives after RAI.

It's just that RAI is not the panacea many drs. present it to be, as you

are learning. I don't have statistical evidence to back this up, but I

suspect that the people who do best are the ones who are the most

informed -as to what their replacement alternatives are, what symptoms to

be on the lookout for, what blood work to insist on and when, and how to

interpret their labs, among other factors.

Members of this group have been through the gamut of what thyroid disease

has to " offer " - from thyroid storm to Graves rage, all levels of thyroid

eye disease, just about all the possible permutations of medications, and

more. And in those rare instances when something entirely new pops up,

someone will know how to find out more info about it.
