YUP! It was me...(see below).

Date: Thu Sep 18, 2003 2:39 pmSubject: Re: Re: Need Advice..please

Ginger,

Thank you for the information. I did call BC/BS and they told me exactly what you did....yes, it's covered, submitted to the state, etc.

I just called Dr. Bonaventura's office and they aren't seeing any more new patients, only for infertility. I also called Dr. Moodley's office and they said that they aren't familiar with abdominal cerclages...but she took a message for the doctor to call me back.

<moving on down the list>

Anyone have any other suggestions? I guess I'll start with a general radius outside of Michigan and move out slowly.

An opening is left because things must come out. My c/s was scheduled for 38wks but delivered at 35.5wks.Love, P.

Generally after having the ab at about what weeks have most of you

had the doctors schedule your c/s. I know that can't go the whole

42 weeks that doesn't seem wise to me. This being if you don't go

into labor and force them to do the c/s. Just wondering. And those

of you who have had the ab and delivered successfully was there any

difference in your monthly cycles after? I know they live it in and

it is almost sewn shut so I was wondering if if changed that at all

more pain or less flow like that.

I am sorry you are having a difficult day and you are right. People just don't understand or care. I am happy you are recognizing your children's "birthdays".

Today is the Birthday of my twins Edmundo jr and Esperanza. Today

has been very hard for me. I had to work to day and things here have

been very up setting. I work for a phone company and they have

mandated us to work 10 hour of overtime. I switched hour with a

friend to get off early today and they gave me so much trouble

because I told them I would not stay late today. I am finding that

if people have not gone throw the same thing that you have then they

don't care or just don't understand how important it is to celebrate

these days. We let balloons off, light a candle for each of them and

have cake and ice cream. We started this when we lost our 1st son

.It really helps me to honor them on their special day.

That sounds like a wonderful tradition. In the past, we have done the cake and ice cream thing too...

I think it's important to remember our children in these ways...whatever helps you get through it. I'm so sorry you are hurting today.

Thinking of you,

my OS took over. My face felt as if it had doubled in size. She

with her own handiwork. :-) I still have a slight open bite, but

that's for the ortho to tweak and by the way it looks, it probably

won't take long to adjust. As a matter of fact, I wouldn't complain

if he didn't tweak it. I LOVE IT!!!

Hi Soon-To-Be-Postoppers,

It is entirely normal to be scared, concerned, apprehensive before

surgery. ly, I was a nervous wreck before " the works " (upper,

lower, genio). However, some tips to help you in these final pre-op

days. Do keep busy. Keep your mind occupied. I know this isn't

easy! Also, be prepared. The better prepared you are for the early

postop days, the better your recovery will be. Have your supplies

on hand. Have support folks lined up. I also found it comforting

to treat myself to a little something special to come home to after

surgery ... some nice down pillows to rest my beat-up head and it

was nice to see/feel them when I got home. Spend some quality time

with your family and friends. I found that going to the movies was

easier to get my mind off of the upcoming surgery than reading a

book, where my mind would wander. I also took a few days off from

work prior to surgery to spend time with my toddler and husband as I

knew I wouldn't be much fun for the first couple weeks postop. And

lastly, do treat yourself to your most favorite crunchy foods before

surgery. It will help you not miss them so much while you are

recovering.

I know the above won't take your mind off of your upcoming surgeries

completely but it may help to pass some of the time. I found that

just preparing and getting my supplies kept me busy!

Good luck to you!

Hello guys,I know there are a few 's in this group so I will go

by S. I posted several weeks ago for the first time. I am about

7 wks 3 days. This is my secong pg. I lost twins Oct 2002. I have

had GB surgery 6/2003. I have pcos, but conceived naturally after 2

IVF cycles. I had my first US a week ago last tuesday. The doctor

said the heartbeat was slow, not where it should be. He wants to

repeat it again tomorrow. He is optimistic stating he has seen many

times where the heartbeat started to pick up after a few weeks. i am

nervous, I admit. Please pray for my child and a great US tomorrow.

Has anyone else had this experience.

Thanks

Hi there:

After the milkshakes and " all things liquid " - and after I was unbanded

- I started eating oatmeal, mashed potatoes, squash - all things really

soft. Then I upgraded to pasta, baked beans, meatloaf, tuna, salmon

and other fish - still softer foods. One day I craved a big Mac so

badly I bought one and put it in a food processor and ate it. It was

all mashed but it tasted great.

I haven't progressed much past that - I'm 7 weeks post op today. I had

only lower jaw (pushed back) and a genioplasty. My sense is that it

might be a few weeks before you can eat fries comfortably - at least 3

- 4 weeks. Hope this helps.

Hi Jacks,

Relax my dear............. at the point you could do real harm you will be

too sore to get into too much trouble........ i.e. remember you have a scar

and other bits that have been badly mistreated and so lifting the leg around

and doing the light fandango either in the ward or first few weeks at home

isn't really were you will be coming from............. if you want to move

at all much you will be doing better than the rest of us.......... shuffling

to the shower and wandering gingerly up and down the corridors is about all

you will want to do for many days..........

Being young you body will heal pretty quickly and this will mean that even

if you pass these magical points early on there is little chance you will do

much harm.........i.e. the resurface device is pretty good on the

dislocation factor rating........... I suspect you would have to actually

fall at a nasty angle to get it to come undone if you have fairly normal

muscles around it post op....... I had virtually none and it wasn't an

issue...........but then I couldn't look like bending to 90 deg or crossing

my legs so I was safer that way than most........

Now is the time to try hard to stop the stress for that depletes the immune

system, pamper yourself and do things like make preparations for any things

like food, equipment etc you may need after the 21st..........You will

cope.........remember even old dear with fragile bodies have THR's every day

of the week and cope..........
