I'm sorry I'm late on this Cindy, it has improved there, but still is

horrific for women.. eg a teenage girl last year had her fingertips cut off

because she wore nail polish without permission. Many go back to life

threatening relationships .... I think I read of these things in the latest

Chatelaine magazine. There was also a female representitive from Afganistan

that spoke out about the situation ( a doctor I believe) and her life is

threatened as at one time was the author Rushdie, was it? had been.
