Protease enzymes should not be used by people with gastric ulcers.

This includes things like Houston and Kirkman. One I would recommend

as being healing to the GI tract is Gastric Complex HP by Tyler. It

has Marshmallow root, slippery elm, DGL and Gamma Oryzanol along with

non-protease plant enzymes. Once the ulcer is well healed, you can

add proteases. Of course, with an ulcer you might test for H Pylori

and treat that if necessary, either with a special antibiotic

regimen, or a natural product such as mastic gum, DGL, etc. HTH, Kim
