This is a side effect from the pain meds. I get the same thing from percocet

and the MSIR. I try not to take it in the afternoon/evening (when I most

need it!) The doc has also given me Zanaflex to battle this side effect. It

is like you take meds to counter the other meds...bad cycle.

Hi Peg,

So sorry to learn that it's been a bad couple of days. I certainly can relate

to

that. I'm so desperate to find a way to have a day without pain. Even the

little

things that I do causes a great deal of pain shortly after. There is a certain

amount

of consolation knowing that we're not alone.

I've had pain in my arms for the past several years. My forearms are sore as

boils most

of the time. Some days my wrists feel as though I had fallen on them. Pains

shoot in

the tops of my hands .... especially the left side. I don't know the cause

except for blaming it

on FM. Be assured that I empathize with what you have shared. My mind goes

berserk sometimes

trying to keep it all together. lol

Take Care!

God Bless,

Sparky aka Larry :)

Hi,

I've been taking Zanaflex for the past 6 weeks. There isn't any change in my

pain or the muscle soreness.

I see the doctor tomorrow, and he'll probably up the dosage or put me on

something else. And, I don't know what

that something else could be ... I've taken so many drugs the past 4 years.

Sparky

parrot004@... wrote: I didn't say that the Zanaflex worked!!! LOL. We

are doing a trial with it.

It seemed to work for the first week or so, then slowly got less effective.

So, he is telling me to take more...what a pain!

Hi Peg, My pain meds make me as energetic as I can possibly get with this

dd... My rheumy told me that major jerks like that are very common with

fibro.. Something that has to do with your brain waves trying to tell you to

go to sleep buy your body is doing something else?? Also restless leg

syndrome can do this with your legs.. I don't know sometimes I get so tired

of hearing my rheumy tell me all my symptoms are related to fibro.. I am sure

he is right because I have had what seems like a million mri's, catscans,

xrays, and blood work to rule out everything else possible.. Plus fibro has so

many unexplainable symtoms... anyways it is 7:00 a.m Monday here and I wanted

to tell you I hope you are feeling better. I have to get ready for school and

then get my two little ones up for school as well.. Again, hope all is well

for you and everyone else here!!!!

been taken vicodin for the past week. really doesn't help, makes me sick to

my stomach...

Peg, are you taking the Vicodon with milk or food. I take it also and on my

bottle of medication it has a notice that it needs to be taken with milk of

food or it could upset your stomach.

Take care,

hi terri, been taken vicodin for the past week. really doesnt help, makes me

sick to my stomach... cant take the pain any more, normally i force my self to

get up and clean, cook, laundry animals and kids and go to work. sounds like you

:) haven't been able to do too much latel. that makes me upset because i've

always been active with my children. went sledding and skating etc. cant do that

too much any more. haven't done it at all lately. they miss there " old " mom and

i miss the old me. my youngest just turned 12 yesterday. i had wanted to go

white water rafting when they were older and now that the boys are my body

decides to rebell. :) i give you alot of credit because i know it would be

really difficult trying to care for young children and deal with all the pain

and fatigue. one of the major reasons i have decided not to have another child

now. thanks for your support terri, hopefully i can do the same for you

sometime. peg

Pets can help a lot with taking your mind off things and amusing you

with their antics! I find a lot of comfort with my cats. Do the cat

and dog play together?

I had that done last year Cindy. I'm sorry to say it didn't help at all. It was

very painful to pee for a few days but nothing unbearable. Maybe it will help

you but for me it did not. Good luck. Ellie

(unknown)

Well, I went to the urologist yesterday (they

rescheduled my appointment) and after a few minutes of

questions and an examination of pressing on all the

sore spots! he is scheduling me in to test for IC. I

have to wait 5 months for a time in the hospital. Has

anyone had their bladder stretched and filled with

water with a tube going through their urethra

(spelling:) ). I must say, it sounds quite painful.

Hi Cindy,

I had a hydrodistension done last March. They

put me to sleep. I woke up on a gurney while

they were pushing me to recovery. When I woke

up, it felt like I had a full bladder. I sat

right up on the gurney and yelled, " I have to

pee. " I heard one of the nurses say to the

other, " Distension? " Anyway, my bladder really

was empty. They gave me morphine, and then I was

fine. Some people feel better after having it

done. Not so with me. The uro put me on Elmiron

and Vicodin, and I'm much better.
