Re: Effects on Character / Personality / sleeping patterns

I can tell you UNEQUIVOCALLY that my 10 1/2 month old DS's personality

has not changed one bit! He is still his happy, 'talkative' (in

babbles!), sometimes cranky when he's really tired (he loves to fight

sleep to the end) self!!! I posted a couple of pic of him in

the " " album within the Photos section if you'd like to see

the 'smiles'. He continues to 'flirt' with all his 'teachers' at day

care...he's actually become more mobile (crawling everywhere) and

daring because he's now got his protective band! I was worried myself

about whether his disposition would change, worried that less people

would interact with him in public with the band which I was worried

would hinder his outgoing nature...he still smiles and tries to get

anyone's attention regardless of whether they are just staring or

interacting with him. Babies are so resilient...I think banding is a

harder adjustment for us parents than it is for the child.

I hope this helps!

I have seen a few posts that kids are crankier, don't sleep as well,

.... but the vast majority (>90%?) adjust after a few weeks or less and

are the same as ever. My daughter has always been a happy, active

baby, who didn't sleep that well (not horrible either). that was the

case before, during and after the band.

Thanks for that. I'm pleased to hear there was little change in your daughters demeaner - must have been a relief.

I posted quite hastily as soon as I joined - i should have said my name is Nicola and I'm mum to Kayson (affectionately known as Kasey). Kasey has a cranial range of 76 but his asymmetry is severe at 24mm. I went to this consulatation today without much preperation and now i'm all over the place, frantically trying to decide what to do.

My consulation was with LOC but I now see another brand STAR are there anymore out there I should know about ?

My biggest concern was that the clinician advised that the fitting can often effect their character. Kasey is so full of laughter, always chuckling away and hes slept for 12 hours since he was six weeks - it made me cry and would brake my heart if his laughter, chuckles and general personality were effected. Especially when you consider that they are only claiming to effect asymmetry by 50 pc

Any comments / thoughts are greatly appreciated
