also use the FAGE yougurt for breakfast and dessert -

with lots of cinnamon and some splenda or with chopped

I have never seen FAGE yogurt. Of course I am in the back woods of NH, but I

used to live in Massachusetts and don't remember seeing it there either. Is that

a brand name or a type of yogurt?

NH has some great markets - Shaws and the other one, with an H? They seem to

carry everything low carb I've ever seen. Check the organic section, as

sometimes the greek fage yogurt is stored there.

Thanks Gretchen, I am going to have a look at the recipe in the 4 corners book

on Amazon as you suggested,

I don't suppose it would work with unsweetened Soy milk would it ?

Thanks Stacey - I was just in Hannaford today - they have the very best

produce department. They have one in Guilford that is pretty close to me and I

just found out that they are going to build a brand new one right across the

street. Can't wait for that. There used to be a K-Mart there and they pulled the

whole thing down. Not sure what else is going to be going in there, but should

be a great new shopping center - right across the street from Shaws -

competition makes for great prices :) I will look there for the yogurt. I just

found the DaVinci syrups at TJ Maxx today - so I'm all set :)

Where are you from Stacey??

I'm from NY, born in NYC now residing on the eastern end of Long Island, but

I get to New Hampshire several times a year - my bestest friend lives in

Alton, so I know where Guilford is, etc. I just love the supermarkets up there

-

so gigantic and good prices too! Just the water selection is staggering!

Probably won't get up there until the summer - my friend will come down for a

visit at the end of April, probably, and I was there just after Christmas.

So where'd you live in Queens? I was born in Manhattan, at the New York

Infirmary, but my parents lived in Forest Hills at the time. At three months, I

moved with them to ton, and I spent the next 25 years there in a

succession of houses.

I'm getting shivers up my spine as I type this. I lived at 16 Hollywood

Avenue from 1966 to 1978, then at 336 Kenmore until 88 or so or more. Started

on

ton Parkway two houses south of Alameda on the west side, just don't

remember the number as I was only three when we moved to Hollywood Ave. My

brother and his family still live in ton on Hillcrest (off Hillside).

People named Hoops lived in 16 Hollywood before us, not sure if they were there

in 1950, however.

I remember those literary magazines. I think my mother still has them... LOL

I also recall the name Huber. Just tried calling my mother to ask, but

she's not home.

And my niece and nephew attend P.S. 98. Great School, that one. Wonder if

any of the same teachers were there... Mrs. , Mrs. Muller, Mr. Caeten,

Mrs. Aiosa, they could have been there.

Ahh, memory lane. Have you ever gone to the ton memories website?

www.douglastonmemories.com

It has people from all different time periods. I'm listed in the directory,

as is my brother, and there are pictures and such too.

Too wierd. Really, really small world.

Wow. I was in ton from about 1947 to 1950, at 6 Hollywood Avenue.

Left at the end of 5th grade. I suppose my teachers Miss Stein (Gertrude

Stein) and Miss Chopieska had retired by the time you went through. Peggy

Staples taught piano. Other friends were the Hubers and Kennerlys and

Zellers and Wileys. I still have the PS 98 " literary " magazine from that

era. My brilliant offering:

I like baseball.

It is fun.

First you hit

And then you run.

I think poetry teaching has advanced since that era <G>.

Very interesting article. The people in the study ate three 6-oz.

servings of yogurt a day. That's quite a bit. I eat one 4-oz serving

most every day, but then I'm not losing any weight. To me, yogurt is

filling and satisfying. Maybe it kept these people from eating more

fattening foods. But that wouldn't explain the loss of the belly fat.

Wonder if it holds true if you eat full fat fage greek style yogurt as is my

first choice for yogurt. I really don't do low fat anything if I have a

choice as I've found all of it lacking in flavor and mouth feel.
