Guest guest
I had to watch a video prior to my face to face. It was about 30 minutes long. It had an overview of each type of surgery offered and film of a laproscopic RNY. There was information about the benefits and the risks. After the video there was a weigh in, blood pressure check, and a before picture. A meeting with the doctor was next. we discussed which type of surgery would be best for me and I had a list of questions with me. Took a total of about one hour for it all. Hope this helps. wls 7/19 264/xxx/

Guest guest
Mine lasted all of about 30 minutes. The surgeon met with 4 of us in a group to explain the procedure, and the doctors and what types of surgery he does. He told us the death rate for the team (which was 2, one was heart attack months later, and one was a clot from an infections years out) Then we all seperated to our own rooms, were weighed, got our blood pressure taken, talked with the nutritionist, the nurse practitioner, and the surgeon one on one. That was it. Was nice to be able to see the surgeon since I haven't seen him in 4 months Best of luck to you. Guest guest
WOW I guess every surgeon and Hospital runs there appointments different. I met with Dr. tti at Albany Med, the surgery consult was 4 hours. there were four of us there and our families. He gave us a packet that explained the terms he was using and had diagrams. We also were asked if we wanted to help a student with her studies and take part in a survey. Dr tti then proceeded to tell you exactly what he was going to do to do the surgery. He also gave you all his statistics for him, the hospital, and national for the complications. after about 2.5 hours of his lecturewe went up to the Surgical Department for a 1-1 and discussed our individual needs. We were then weighed given our appointments and then scheduled for surgery. for a total of 4 hours roughly. I go for my Vascular lab Monday 8am and Tuesday for my pre admission testing Wednesday for the Upper GI ultra sound and then next Tuesday for my surgery > > TOMMOROW I HAVE MY FIRST DOCTORS CONSULTAION CAN U GUYS LET ME KNOW > WHAT'S GONNA HAPPEN? >

Guest guest
I HAD THE SURGERY OPEN BECAUSE OF TOO MUCH SCAR TISSUE FROM A PRIOR SURGERY TO REMOVE MY GALLBLADDER. I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW UNTIL THE SECOND DAY THAT I HAD TO HAVE OPEN WHEN THE SURGEON REMOVED THE BANDAGE. I WOULD HAVE TO SAY THE PAIN FOR ME WASN'T ANY WORSE THAN WHEN I HAD TO HAVE MY GALLBLADDER OUT LAPROSCOPIC. WHEN I FIRST CAME HOME FROM THE HOSPITAL I FOUND IT HARD TO LAY DOWN BECAUSE OF THE PULLING ON THE STAPLES I HAD 22 OF THEM. SO I SLEPT MY FIRST FEW WEEKS IN A RECLINER. Guest guest
I had the surgery laproscopically, but did have pretty major back pain when I woke up. That first night was tough, but the nurse was great about using pillows to help prop me into a halfway comfortable position. And getting up and walking felt GREAT! ) > > HI I HAVE A QUESTION FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE HAD THE SURGERY OPEN? HOW > WAS THE PAIN WHAT WAS IT LIKE AFTER? Guest guest
Hi Mike, I walk 1 mile or more a day (treadmill) and use a gazelle for 10 minutes. I do this 5 out of 7 days. I agree our winters are unpredictable! I do enjoy downhill skiing very much tho! My rny was 1 yr. ago lost 95 lbs and counting (slowly now tho) Take care! Guest guest
I usually do 30-45 minutes, depending on my energy level. I do a 10- 15 minute warm-up on a stationary bike and then get on the treadmill for the rest of the time. It's funny... I seem to be on the same schedule as a spin class, so almost every time I get on my tame little stationary bike, the spin class shows up and puts me to shame! hehe I think I'll give it a try one of these days and see if I can keep up! ) > >> > >> How long is good to excerise a day? > >> > > > > > YIM: oxoxdedeoxox >

Guest guest
I know I am probably grasping for straws now, but has anyone ever heard of this? http://tinyurl.com/2sow7o
Guest guest
I have seen that plus at least 500 others claiming to have THE cure. If it really worked, then someone in one of my groups would have tried it and told us that it really DID work. They would probably also tell us exactly what it was, and how to do it. I haven't read of anyone telling us about it, so I can only assume that it doesn't work. I read that fibro 'cures' are a multi billion dollar industry now. I can believe it, as there are so many different people out there on the net with their hands open for our money, promising that buying this, that and the other will cure us. The only thing I have read a lot of support for is the Guaifenesen Protocol. There are even a few Yahoo groups dedicated to this. I have been curious about it, however it is so complicated and there are so many things you have to stop using (even regular toothpastes, shampoos, etc.) that I don't think I could do it. If you're interested in seeing something about it, there is a girl who blogs on You Tube about it. You can go here to watch a few of her videos. She also has a regular blog. This is the addy for her main You Tube page: http://uk.youtube.com/user/dianacwolf Here is her website and blog: http://web.mac.com/dianawolftorres/iWeb//Home.html She ALMOST has made a believer out of me. However, as I said, it is a very complicated plan. Peace and Love Caroline I know I am probably grasping for straws now, but has anyone ever heard of this? ____________________________________________________________ FREE 3D EARTH SCREENSAVER - Watch the Earth right on your desktop!
