Guest guest
Fat-free cheese. I haven't found a decent one yet. Most of them don't even melt right! SulaBlue
Guest guest
OOoh, speaking of which - For those here in Texas - HEB has boneless skinless chicken breasts on sale for $1.99, value pack, limit 2. That's about HALF the price it's been going for. I plan on stocking up! SulaBlue > Got to go shopping for meat. Nothing in the freezer but steak and beef > shanks (as far as meat goes). Guest guest
Most meters will read up to 600, some a bit more, some a bit less. After that they usually just say " High " . On the other end when you go below a certain set point (20?) tjhey say " Low " . Seems friendly to me, I often greet people by saying one or the other of these..... I'll throw the book away and try to do better. Knock, knock, knock, yoohoo, anyone home? hey, I'm talking to you!!!!! Do I have your attention now? Good. First off, THROW AWAY ALL THAT CRAP THEY GAVE YOU!!!! DON'T LOOK AT IT AGAIN. IT IS TOXIC TO YOUR BRAIN. IT WILL KILL YOU. REBOOT YOUR BRAIN. START AFRESH. FORGET EVERYTHING THEY TOLD YOU. IT IS WRONG. IT WILL KILL YOU. IT WILL TAKE AWAY YOUR EYES, YOUR LIMBS, YOUR KIDNEYS AND YOUR MENTAL ABILITY. IF YOU DO IT THEIR WAY YOU WILL DIE A HORRIBLE DEATH AS A FOOTLESS, ARMLESS, BLIND LUMP ON DIALYSIS WITH HURTS THAT NO AMOUNT OF NARCOTICS CAN FIX. IF THE HEART ATTACK DOESN'T GET YOU FIRST. IS THAT WHAT YOU WANT? THEN KEEP DOING IT THEIR WAY. There now. I'll wait a moment while you burn all that stuff and clear your brain. .... .... .... OK, now. I'm going to try this again. You MUST track your carbs. Carbs == sugar after they're digested. Starch == Carbs == Sugar. If you eat carbs, your blood glucose WILL go up. Period. No doubt about it. How do you know how many carbs you're eating? Easy. You read the labels on packaged foods. You get nutritional info from the websites of the chain restaurants that you frequent. For other foods, you look up the info in a nutritional database. On paper or on the computer. I've posted this URL at least once a day for the past couple of weeks so I'm getting a little annoyed that you have to ask. This is the USDA Nutritional database. It is free. No cost. Zero dinero. Without obligation. Your tax dollars at work. Ready? Here it is, yet again: http://www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/foodcomp/srch/search.htm <<click here Click on the above url ^^^^^^^^^^. Yes, this one ^^^^ Select the platform you want to use (PalmPilot or windows.) Click on the appropriate button. Download the software. Install the software. This is very important, as you can't look up stuff if you don't install it. Fire off the software. Type in a food type that you're interested in, say " wheat bread " . Read the facts. Look at the carbohydrates line. See that? 17.21 grams per slice. If you make a sandwich out of two slices, that's 34.5 grams of carbs. That's half of what I allow myself all day. That would raise my blood glucose maybe 50 points. Two little slices of bread. Before we waste anymore time on you, let's see if you can understand these basic facts and get that database installed. If you're not going to read what we write, then we're wasting our time. Pop Quiz: What is a carb? What does it do to blood glucose? Where do you find carb info? --- De Armond See my website for my current email address http://www.johngsbbq.com Cleveland, Occupied TN

And if those words are too big, High blood sugar will make Mr Happy stay limp. Even when he's supposed to be standing at attention. Do you like a limp Mr. Happy? Then keep doing what your " doctor " (quack) is telling you. Mr. Happy will be as soft as a raw egg... My doc uses the same One Touch Ultra that we do. When he finally got around to diagnosing me, I registered something around 575. I don't recall, as my mind was quite fuzzy from all the sugar. I think the specs say it will go to 700, after which it registers " HI " . --- De Armond See my website for my current email address http://www.johngsbbq.com Cleveland, Occupied TN
