I lived in Montana for two years and my face was flaring all the time from

the heating indoors and the extreme cold outside. I recently moved to Texas

and everyone was telling me my face would get worse, but when I'm outside,

sweating, my face looks so much better. The Texas heat and some moisture

has actually done my face a world of good. cea is a tricky one.

Hi,

Is this Robin??? You were sitting one seat over from me, I kept asking you if

you were all right... I'm glad you found the sight. Please let me know if you

have any questions... If it's not Robin, welcome to the group!

Hugs,

I felt that way too so don't feel like your being goofy. This is the first place that I found that everyone knows or has been through what you have. I welcome you to our group as I am new to it myself. My first meeting was last months tuesday and then I went to this most recent thursday. Listening to all the patients questions, concerns and just general info. for me was amazing ....I EVEN FORGOT I WAS HUNGRY AND DIDN'T HAVE ANY DINNER!!! now that is amazing!!! Anyway welcome! Amy

Welcome Markie,

so sorry you have gotten this horrible disease, especially due to

injury. And no, you never forget the pain. Nothing else is like it. You

will find the people here just wonderful and willing to help with

anything they can.

Oh Markie,

I am so sorry that the church is so....well, ignorant. I don't mean that in

a mean way at all. It's just that in our ignorance, we tend to not do

anything rather than do something " wrong " . When it would be much better to

reach out, even if it is not the " right " thing...............at least to know

they care. It's just like when a loved one dies. No one knows what to say,

so they say dumb things, like, well, he is better off now. You just want to

scream. THAT doesn't take the pain away!!!!!

Take care of yourself. I hope you have some good days!

Be well,

.. You are the first person I have seen post who is also from Canada like me

wHAT doctor do you see in Toronto and which hospital are you usually seen

at? I sometimes feel I am the only person in Toronto who has this disease as

I never see any info on it and no one else on any of the sights I have

checked out. I have seen a Dr. Shapero at Scarborough General and a Dr.

Langer at Toronto hospital.

Markie,

I'm glad the sandostatin has helped you. My doctor tried that on me and

all it did was make me more nauseous and drop my bloodsugar at

unpredictable times.I take Cotazym, which is a form of pancrease.

Hi Kimber, I take pancrease too. Went to the doc last week for a check up

and he said I probably need to go back to the specialist to see if I need

the pancrease increased. I have had an increase in the pain and nausea and

more frequent vomiting. I haven't had to be hospitalized for over a year.

Just keep going back to broth and jello and that seems to help. Things

always get worse when I feel stressed or get real tired. Later, Markie

Yep, I think a lot of us have noticed that connection. Aside from my attacks

during pregnancy (which were the worst), most of mine I can target a huge

stressor I had in my life at that time. I manage to stay out of the hospital

too, but now that seems to be damning me - the doc's saying, " Well, how do I

know you're really having attacks if no one sees you during them? " And my

last doc had just told me to stay at home on liquids and pain meds and take

care of it myself. Go figure.

Kimber and Markie,

I had the same experience with Sandostatin. I would throw up every time

after giving myself an injection and my blood sugar went " haywire. " I'm glad

to hear that it really does work for someone. :-)

Hi Andre, I just keep my fingers crossed and keep praying that the

medication continues to work. I always worry that it will quit and then I

don't know what I will do. I don't take the pain meds like I should. I was

addicted at one time, went through rehab, and was terrified of getting

hooked again. Sometimes the doc scolds me and tells me he is monitoring the

meds and if I need it, I shouldn't be afraid to take it.

Later, Markie

Markie,

I've had mine increased three times. The doctor said that there wasn't

really anyway you can overdose on the things, so if more helped, take

more and she'd adjust my prescription for it.

No..... it's not possible to make SCD yogurt without that initial heating. You

have to sterilize the milk by heating (never above 185 degrees F for goat milk,

or the proteins will be damaged), before adding your yogurt starter. Otherwise,

you'd have other bacteria competing during the fermentation process..... and it

will likely not turn out.

Patti

hi.

i have a question. i have been told that my son might be better able

to tolerate raw goat milk than pasturized goat milk. if i made

yogurt out of raw goat milk though i would destroy the enzymes that

make it more digestable in the heating process. is it possible to

skip the heating and keep the enzymes alive and still make yogurt?
