So Louis, WHERE did you say you are from????? We will put you into the melting

pot of folks to lead the rest of us on to something good in your area. I know

you have told me before, but I am old and forgetful. (And I STILL call Abilene

West Texas, and I LIVE here. LOL)

OK since I once referred to the B/CS area as " East Texas " (nearly got killed

Do I notice some excitement finally starting to develop! I have

watched everyone's concern about this and that over the last few

days. Maybe just maybe we needed to get all of this aired out so

that we can move forward. I am not saying this way or that way is

better at the moment. I just think we need to all keep coming up

with ideas to improve EMS relationships with one another. Just

remember we werent always agree with each other but if we can come

to a consensus we can always continue to move forward. Trust me, I

dont always agree with Jane, Gene, Dudley, Dr. Bledsoe (shh dont

tell him..lol), and others. Just keep it going and I think good will

come out of it all.

I am going to be quiet now...I am rambling and runnining on just

three hours of sleep. I plan to express my views more openly on

here.

I think your doing a good job at listening to us.I would like to see

paycheck recovery, especially when the PayDay Law has been tried and failed.

I have an employer who owes me $2500, where I came from in California,he

would have been arrested for theft with 2x indemnification. This is an

issue that has burned many medics and needs to be a retroactive law.

It is ok to disagree folks as long as we all understand that we have to work on

things together to make everything come to the middle as much as possible if

there is no absolute agreement one way or another. The important part is to be

able to actually agree to disagree but go forward for the good of an

organization and the public that is served. Welcome to the discussion, .

We would WELCOME your help with bylaws revision so that the bylaws can be

Just FYI, I think this next meeting is having to be an emergency meeting due to

some Board resignations and such, so we can only put a " member input " line for

it I think. I am not sure - is working on the info for posting. However,

at the next regularly scheduled BOD meeting, we can take requests for agenda

items I am sure.

I DEFINITELY won't argue THAT point. I have a son who is a U.S. Army Calvary

scout - leaving for his tour in lovely downtown Bagdhad in a couple of weeks. I

figure he is fighting for our right to disagree and still be alive when the

argument is over, so we all have to learn ways to do it and still be friends

Hi Tom and All,

You can add me to the list of those folks that want to help EMSAT get off

the ground. Put me down for the Southeast Texas area (Houston/Beaumont).

I'm not one that shows up on this list as a " regular, " but I do read it.

There have been many wonderful posts on here about EMSAT lately and discussing

how we can make our EMS profession better.

Tom " the learning medic " and others have stated over and over again, UNITY.

I agree. I'm not going to repeat everything that has been said, and I

couldn't possibly say it as eloquently as those have already, but I just wanted

one more person in the public pot who agrees.

As far as EMSAT goes, I was one of those folks a couple of years ago that

kept asking " What is EMSAT doing for EMS and me? " It dawned on me, what am I

doing for EMS? I haven't done anything for EMS. I've been a non-active

member for the last year. After reading all the posts the last several weeks,

it

dawned on me again, I'm still not doing anything for EMS and being a

non-active member is cutting it.

I see a lot of people on this List that have an obvious great passion for

EMS, but yet want to just talk about how nothing is getting done. It's really

simple, the more great minds that come together at one place over and over

again to discuss the future of EMS, the better the chance that something will

change ... for the better.

So those of you who aren't members yet, JOIN and then be ACTIVE! Don't ask

yourself, yet, what can EMSAT do for me. Ask yourself how you can use your

knowledge and experience in EMS to help EMSAT help EMS, which by the way, will

end up helping YOU!

I really think the idea of local chapters is the way to go. All of the

other Associations I belong to have this set up. It just makes sense.

EMSAT can only accomplish what its members accomplish. EMSAT needs your

experience and expertise. If you are really that passionate about EMS, isn't

it

worth a try?

Just some of my rambling thoughts on all of this. I'm looking forward to

seeing some familiar faces from the past too. And Tom, I've known you for many

years, you were a great medic back when and I'm sure you still are today. I

really enjoy your posts as well as many others.

Take care and stay safe,

, LP, RN, FP-C

Can you come to the EMSAT meeting on Aug 4th so we can discuss this as a group?

I believe there is an opportunity on the agenda for members to discuss stuff

like this with the Board and then we can start working on a plan of action to

meet the needs and requests of the membership. So if all of you who are voicing

interest in stuff like this, come to the Board meeting so it can be discussed as

a group face to face. :)
