It's okay all. I will not post on here again. So enough said and sorry that

so many are offended. I will still lurk to see if anything new is happening.

So until then, Yahweh bless everyone!

At 06:39 AM 27-05-03 -0700, alan cameron stated:

>Each Zantac 150 tablet for oral administration contains 168 mg of ranitidine

>HCl equivalent to 150 mg of ranitidine. Each tablet also contains the

>inactive ingredients FD & C yellow No. 6 aluminum lake, hydroxypropyl

>methylcellulose, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, titanium

>dioxide, triacetin, and yellow iron oxide.

Besides Alan's use of gutter language, which I believe has no place here,

(and which I have not reproduced),

I don't know, because according to the EPA, " aluminum lake " has no aluminum.

Their definition is as follows:

FD & C Yellow No. 6 Aluminum Lake,

2-(2'-Hydroxy-5'- Methylphenyl)Benzotriazole and Octadecyl

3,5-Di-Tert-Butyl-4- Hydroxyhydrocinnamate

That is rediculous Susie. Do not be run off by such offenses, I enjoy

every one of your posts as does " most " everyone. There will always be

I agree Susie, dont stop posting. Also, No one was complaining, we just

signed up for a gallstone group not a religious debate. As for calling those

of us that dont wish to hear or discuss your religious preferances, " the

demonic realm " that was completely uncalled for.

Subject: Re: HELP

I have been having difficulty posting to this group although I receive the daily postings. So, I decided to jump in here.I have been having problems with finding the right dose of ldn. I first started with 4.5. After 3 days, I experienced burning pain in the back of my legs. I then reduced to 3 grms. Wow. It was great. Steady improvement for nearly 3 weeks. Then I experienced several days of the burning pain again. Since then, I have been adjusting the dosage up and down for the last 4 weeks or so with little success. When I took a lower dose, say 2 or 2.25 grms the burning pain continued and my legs were weaker. 2 days ago I stopped for 2 days and took amiltriptylene for the burning pain. The pain lessened so after 2 days I took 2 grms of ldn last night and the pain worsend today. Does anyone have any suggestions? Words of wisdom or guidance? Any help is greatly appreciated. prof. b.

Try skipping the 3mg for 2 days and then go back on the 3mg for 10

days then skip two days............people have reported success with

this method.

I guess sometimes the body accomodates the LDN and if you stop for

a couple of days, then the ldn works as new.

Hope this helps you, SallyC.

I just had to make a comment about Skips. Someone just said they pay $11 for

3 mg. I pay $11,50 for 2 mg from Skip's. Not only does he lose my script

every month he also charges me more for a lesser dose. I finally got it and

a apology, apparently it was put in the pick up box by mistake. My dr. faxed

him to give me a 3 month supply from now on but he said in the future when I

call to say " it's on file " . Strange, I would think all prescriptions would

be on file.

I am just starting the process of filing for disability. My

employer paid short term disability ends in 2 weeks and it

transitions to long term disability through another company. I got

the paperwork from them to complete and one of the forms I have to

sign says that I MUST file for SSD within 90 days of receiving my

first disability check from them. The checks from them will only be

60% of my prior pay.

I am very interested to know more about the whole process as well.

How long ago did you complete your application? How long did it

take before they scheduled your hearing? Any idea how long it is

before they make a decision and notify you? How do they determine

how much money you qualify for? If you have minor children and your

spouse doesn't work, do they qualify for something also?

Thanks to anyone who can answer these questions. Good luck to you

, I don't blame you for being nervous, these thing make me

nervous to. Just know that you have all of us standing behind you

who understand what you are going through.

Miriam

> Does anyone out there in this group receive disability for their

RA? I have to go for a disability hearing and would like any input

you may have as to what I may be in for. For some reason, I am

really nervous about it. Thanks~ shelsmieg2000@y...

Ardeith writes: I've been living with RA for thirty-some years, and no

herb, or combination of herbs, has given me any relief for the aching and

swelling and damaged joints. I'll take part of that back.....arnica salve

has helped bring swelling down, but doesn't help with the aches or joint

damage. Arnica should only be used on unbroken skin, never ingested, and is

good for stimulating blood flow to clear up bruising. I thought, " Well,

stimulating blood flow might help bring swelling down, " and it did. But

only the sort of swelling brought about by whacking my wrist on a door knob.

Arnica can't do a thing for the swollen damaged bones in my wrists.

Willow bark tea helps relieve pain, but only as well as aspirin relieves

pain. And aspirin are easier to carry in your pocket or purse. Aspirin

can have a bad effect on your stomach too, which is why our doctors

prescribe other drugs for us.

I don't believe herbs can help much with RA......though I use them for other

things quite often.

Hi Beth , Well the meds are for protecing your joints ans body as you'll see here by reading the others post , some simple things like frozen cherry juice concentrate , onnions , garlic , vinagar and apple cider LOL some people like them me i never seen any good from them i am a big fan of onnions and garlic but didn't do anything for my ra , allso tryed vinagar and apple cider i couldn't hold my nose and stomic it many times LOL theres others maybe some will post I'm not sure it's not a big thing here . Chinese like actupuncher , hot peper treatments the hot pepper will set you on fire and i personal don't think it would do more than a bengay or something simerler except burn you up . the actupunker i never had enought money or a place local to try it , chirropractor this really helped me but very temparaly ( but i allso have a spin diease ) and very bad disc in my cervical and

lumbar spin . so it's really something thats very indepentant what helps one may not do a thing for another or vise versa . but you should allways talk to your dr frist . johnbeth <mayfrog1963@...> wrote: hi iam new to all of this. i would like to know if anyone has ever tried herbs? the doc just want to take all these meds. to me i would think all them meds are not good for my body. if anyone out there has please email me and let me know what you took. thanks beth mayfrog1963

Hi and welcome to the group. I’m

not aware of any herbal remedies that really help RA but a generally healthy

diet can help anyone. Some people have symptoms like RA from food

sensitivity but which foods people are sensitive to varies all over the

map. If you find that your symptoms get a lot worse you might review your

recent diet to see if there have been changes that might have caused it.

Some people use an “elimination diet” by restricting their diet to

a few foods that seldom cause problems and then after a few weeks to cleanse

the system they slowly add in additional food classes to see if they affect

their RA. Of course if the “elimination diet“ doesn’t

help then you realize that diet does not affect your symptoms. One person

tried this and found that what she called the “amine class of foods”

caused her significant pain and she was helped by eliminating that class.

Most of us want to avoid permanent joint

damage so we are on Western medications and only change our diet slightly rather

than having high hopes for real relief. I hope you get some relief some

way. God bless.

Beth wrote: have to say iam mad about this to (RA)

Ardeith writes: Being mad, or sad, or whatever about RA isn't going to help you. Getting into a rage might make you feel better.....momentarily....but then the adrenalin wears off and you ache more than ever. Or maybe you are mad at yourself for what you see as a failure in life........but you haven't failed, dear.....just because you can't do some things anymore, doesn't mean there are not other things you can do...or learn to do.

Beth wrote: i hate this thing called (RA)

Ardeith writes: Yeah, I know. But hate won't help anymore than getting mad will. And the bad thing about hate is that you can begin to hate your own body for betraying you......that's what if felt like to me, anyway. My body had betrayed me. But that's not true either......my body just reacted as it had been genetically programmed to react. My immune system began attacking my own body because there is a glitch in the genes that made this possible. After 30 years of this, I have to thank my hands for all they will still do for me.....and I thank them every time I rub lotion on them.

Beth wrote: how do you or anyone deal with this. and please dont say we just do.

Ardeith writes: Beth, the bottom line is that we deal with it because we have to. I dealt with it because I had four children who needed me to do what I could do.....if only to be there to listen when they had problems. You have to learn to deal with it. What's the alternative? Suicide? That's no solution....that puts a load of guilt on everyone who knows and loves you......the guilt of not doing enough to help you, of not understanding well enough.

I believe we are all here to learn something, or to teach something. That's what I used to tell my mother when she wondered why she was still here.....very crippled up by RA.

.......couldn't even dress herself, or wipe after a BM. Maybe she was still here to teach me how to cope with RA.....and....considering how manipulative and mean she could be ..... maybe she was still here to teach me how NOT to be with other people. But, I believe we are all here for a reason, and we should not go back to the Source with our years un-used, and our lessons un-learned, or un-taught.

Beth wrote: it is not as easy as that. for someone life and body be rocked with this. please help me with this....

Ardeith writes: No, it's not easy. But I can think of things that would be harder for me to bear. Losing my vision would be one. If I could not see, I could not learn from Carl Sagan's "Cosmos" DVD's I got Fred for Christmas last year. Yes, RA rocks your life and body. You will never again be the woman you were. So, who can you be now? What can you learn to feed your brain? There's nothing wrong with your brain, now, is there? Feed your brain.....as you already know, your brain will be there for you after your body fails you.......

I have anger issues. Since my coworkers at a job treated me cruelly

for an extended period of time, and I never defended myself, now I'm

a bit quick to jump on people. I just can't let someone hurt me and

get away with it. There was an incident at the grocery store, and I

can't go to the bank, and I just alienated my future brother-in-law

who really didn't do anything wrong except fail to wish me a happy

birthday. (I figured that proves he really doesn't care about me, so

I... kind of lost it.) It's just me and my dad. I don't have any

friends. I was starting to be friends with the guy I just mentioned,

but oh well. I can't work because I can't interact with people. It

stresses me out and makes me want to commit suicide. I just

threatened to kill my mom. She's used to it. (I don't plan to do so.)

Usually I live in a hazy denial of my problems where I manage to be

happy watching a TV show or walking the dog with my dad, but tonight

I'm upset. What am I going to do when my dad dies? What if something

really bad happens to me? I can't cope with little stuff. I stay

close to home to minimize the chance, but there could be a car wreck

or my dog could get hit by a car. Or I could commit a crime of

passion and wind up behind bars, where I wouldn't survive two

seconds. (I'm very sensitive.) I'll regret this pity party tomorrow

because sleep returns me to happy denial-land. You're probably

thinking I need a therapist, but I've only had bad luck with them.

They're incompetent and do more harm than good. I had a great one in

college. I asked her a year ago if she would help me again. She asked

me about my life since college and she seemed a little alarmed by my

paranoia, and she mumbled something about how she really doesn't have

a booming private practice. Rejected by someone who for five years I

thought cared about me. My last therapist I really wanted to believe

was a good one. He was nice and caring. But when I became hypomanic

(read: euphoric), he said, " I know why you're so happy. You've

decided to kill yourself and you're glad you'l be dead soon. " That

brought me crashing back to Earth in a hurry. And it really hurt me.

So therapy isn't an option. Therapists hurt me.

Sorry for ther length. I just want people to understand why therapy

isn't a good idea.
