Guest guest
HI MARILYN NICE TO MEET YOU. I AM ALSO IN A W/C. I AM IN SECONDARY PROGRESSIVE STAGE. WHAT STATE DO YOU LIVE IN? SO GLAD THAT YOU ACCOMPLISHED A LOT OF THINGS THAT YOU WANTED. THANK YOU FOR SHARING. Re: oops! Welcome ann Welcome ann! I am so glad you are ann - I am unique, so far, the one and only Marilyn lol! I had some preliminary tests done for MS way back in '73 - nothing conclusive at that time, but was way too busy having and raising babies. (7) I was far too busy to be ill and managed very well. However, After 5 years of increasing disability, (when my children were grown up) I was finally diagnosed with PPMS in '99. By then, I was well on my way to my wheelchair... It has been an interesting and very blessed journey! I lost my dear husband/caregiver 2 years ago after a 5 year battle with cancer. I chose to remain in our rural home with our 2 little Chihuahua dogs and a paradise yard full of flowers, birds and squirrels. When Home Care Services were no longer to meet my needs, I was out on a fantastic program, where the Health Authority allows 5 hours of caregiving each day. Our youngest daughter (who lives 5 minutes away) is now my primary caregiver, which is a perfect solution. I hope you are discovering the 'gifts' that come along with MS and that you will keep "s'myelin". I know you will enjoy getting to know the very nice, caring people in this great group! Hugs, Marilyn
