I swear, whenever any of us seems to finally get some pain relief or when these doctors are finally listening to us something always seems to happen. We are always waiting for the other shoe to drop. I'm so sorry your're going through all this stuff. You need a new GI right away. This guy you have sounds like an idiot! Since you have SOD,you might need another sphincter pressure test to prove that high pressure still exists. I know of a very kind and caring pancreatic specialist in Texas,but that's probably too far away for you. His name is Dr.G. Raju,and he works out of the University of Texas-Medical Branch. He knows all about sphincter of oddi and listens to his patients. The only reason I don't still see him is because I want the pancreatotomy instead of multiple sphincterotomies. If you're interested, e-mail me and I'll get you in touch with him. I would go ahead and make the complaint about the other doctor. I'm so sorry , I wish I could do more to help you. I assume you have all your records from this joker... get yourself to a GI of your choice , make the appointment and tell the MD office that you would like an evaluation and consultation on your present medical status.. please remember to include all the records from the pain management MD ( this will state your case for you)... when you do see another GI.. be prepared... write your questions down. don't bad mouth the previous MD(s) that treated you.... ask this new GI what his/her thoughts are in regards to your treatment plan and would he/she be able to assist you in treating this illness. make sure you have all your records from all providers... send them ahead of your scheduled visit and request he do a complete review... you also may have to get a referral from your primary in order to have this records review covered in the insurance... they can be very costly.. then when you have your appointment with this GI, he/she should be adequately prepared for all your questions and give you a fair response to what he/she feels you need in your treatment including pain managment. be aware..... there is always the chance you will not like what your hear.... make sure all your ducks are in a row so this will go in your favor..... by the way... I assume you have all your records from this joker... get yourself to a GI of your choice , make the appointment and tell the MD office that you would like an evaluation and consultation on your present medical status.. please remember to include all the records from the pain management MD ( this will state your case for you)... when you do see another GI.. be prepared... write your questions down. don't bad mouth the previous MD(s) that treated you.... ask this new GI what his/her thoughts are in regards to your treatment plan and would he/she be able to assist you in treating this illness. make sure you have all your records from all providers... send them ahead of your scheduled visit and request he do a complete review... you also may have to get a referral from your primary in order to have this records review covered in the insurance... they can be very costly.. then when you have your appointment with this GI, he/she should be adequately prepared for all your questions and give you a fair response to what he/she feels you need in your treatment including pain managment. be aware..... there is always the chance you will not like what your hear.... make sure all your ducks are in a row so this will go in your favor..... by the way... PAIN IS WHAT THE PATIENT SAYS IT IS!!!!! you have the right to have your pain managed.. did you tell this GI that your pain management MD said he can no longer treat you??? is this GI willing to take this responsibility on??? not many Gi's want to do that, too much of a hassle for them in their " see a patient every 6 minutes " practice....... good luck... end of soap box Bing Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
