Hi ..

Am not sure what you weigh now but a 50 pound weight

loss over 3 months time sounds reasonable to my ears.

That would equal out to about 4 plus pounds a week..

As far as loss of muscle goes you would have to work

to build some.. What you often see in very overweight

people is that they do not have a lot of muscle.. that

is due in a large part to a sedentary lifestyle..

Their weight prohibits them from even walking very

far.. As the weight decreases they will be able to

walk further and experience less shortness of breath..

They will in fact develop more muscle tone and nice

lean muscle... and if you had a set of calipers or a

scale that measures body fat you could well see this

occuring..

Wow that's wonderful. I bet he's proud. Even if I don't make my

weight by June I'd like to at least be 150 that way I'm only 25

pounds away from my goal. That would make 17 pounds to go and I

think I can do that for sure by June don't you think? Especially if

I include exercise. I love hearing stories where people are

successful.

she wants to lose 44 pounds in 36 days!! I think she is setting herself up for a huge disappointment. Even 20lbs might be difficult with your calculations.

Nah I just want to get as close as possible. If I include exercise I'm

sure I'll get there much faster. I have to rearrange some furniture

and then I'm going to exercise. Well my husband needs to rearrange

some furniture lol. I'll never feel like a failure as long as I lose

something.

17 lbs might be doable but for me it would still be unrealistic because I know how my body works but it might be different for you. Please get rid of your scale and start exercing. I am afraid that when you start your workout routine your weight will go up due to more muscle and you will get all mad. It is best to gage how your clothes feel, etc. Weigh once a week and even then don't get all upset if you gained a pound, you might lose 4 the following week. Also, your body will plateau at some point. That to me is the most discouraging part and is usually what causes me to give up. But one needs to understand why the body does this and work with it rather than sabotage it.

I almost bought a scale that weighs body fat but it was $40 so I

didn't get it. I know my bmi went from 37.1 to 32.6. So I'm still

considered obese. Is that good to lose that much bmi? I don't really

understand bmi that much. Could you explain it to me?

Once I start exercising and my weight goes up I actually won't be

disappointed because I know it will be because of the exercise. Dr.

A says you just have to break a sweat...not just a little dribble

and that you should never be breathless. My husband read that

somewhere I think from the book and so that will make exercise

easier. The first time I exercised I was out of breath I couldn't

get through the first half hour that really told me how out of shape

I was. Hopefully now that I lost some weight it will be easier for

me.

I think you're giving false hope, . How many women here have been

steadily losing 5 to 6 pounds a week?? 1/2 to 2 pounds, with some

plateaus, is more like it.

I think we are all setting ourselves up for potential failure if we

obsess over the weight loss issue. Concentrate on the food and how it

affects our energy and the weight will come off as an effect.

That's what I tell myself when I weigh myself from week to week.

I think we are all setting ourselves up for potential failure if we

obsess over the weight loss issue. Concentrate on the food and how it

affects our energy and the weight will come off as an effect.

That's what I tell myself when I weigh myself from week to week.

That is not what I asked.

I asked how many women here have been steadily losing 5 to 6 pounds

a week. Please, raise your hands so we can all see you.
