Guest guest
Okay I'll have my husband hide it and ask him to only get it out on Monday mornings. That should help. Guest guest
Hi Again .. Excercise is great because you tone your body and work your heart by doing that... However with some people just walking a little everyday is enough at the beginning... So try and get yourself walking IF you are healthy enough to do so.. Walking speed can increase slowly as your weight drops and your body becomes more condition to some sort of aerobic excercise.. You should never get breathless!!! Try singing a song while you walk.. This way you can monitor yourself and see if you are getting out of breath. You are right though you cannot get to where you want to with excercise alone.. you have to combine it with a healthy eating plan... and unfortunately most people that are vastly overweight can't excercise very well without experiencing some major discomfort.. The good news is that as they lose weight it will become easier.. --- wrote: > > I'm prepared. Even if I just lose 1-2 pounds a week > I'll be very > happy with that. Guest guest
Unfortunatelly I am unable to walk far distances even a block is too much because of my disability which is Spina Bifida. There are problems that go along with that that causes me to be unable to do that. Also I can't get myself motivated to exercised. I exercised the second day of my diet and that's it. I know that's awful. Guest guest
A cup of water weighs 1/2 lb? I will need to remember that. I drink a lot of water. Just driving over to my moms to weigh in, I will consume a liter bottle of water. Re: Hello Everyone I'm New! --- , I thought that or other newbies might be feeling bad. She was comparing her meager loss to your INCREDIBLE one. I just gave her a dose of reality. When you state that it was your first weight loss in a few days; why would you expect to lose measurable weight every day? You can't! Variations happen from day to day, you can be down 2 pounds one day and up 3 the next. Did you know that a cup of water weighs a 1/2 pound. If you have been drinking water or retaining it, guess what! It makes no sense to focus on immediate gratification. Pride should come from the act of eating right, not the pay off of losing x number of pounds in a set amount of time. Our weights will bounce around up and down, its not a day to day adventure, its over the long haul. Relax, you are doing fine. Kay> I won't say anything except that really made me feel bad. Guest guest
The only reason it made me feel bad is it seemed she was making me out to be a liar and that's impossible to lose 2 pounds in a day. I've lost as much as 4 pounds a day. I've never gone up. I've either maintained or lost. I'm proud of myself for losing weight since that's my main concern. Weight is what is causing my mom to have sleep apneia so I have a right to be proud of myself. She just hurt my feelings that's all. I'm over it. > > --- , I thought that or other newbies might be feeling > bad. She was comparing her meager loss to your INCREDIBLE one. Guest guest
Hi ... I think it is normal for some people to weight themselves on a daily basis.. However what " I think " is not normal is weighing yourself many times a day.. Since you feel obsessed with the scale it might be best to limit weighing yourself as was suggested to you.. On the other hand you might well be looking for that reinforcement you need to hang in there... For many successful people there could be a little amount of obsessive behavior associated with their success.. as long as it is not harmful to them I see no problem with it.. --- wrote: > > Okay I'll have my husband hide it and ask him to > only get it out on > Monday mornings. Guest guest
---It sure does. Just remember to not get into a mindset of denying water to increase 'weight loss'. Hydration is so very important. It flushes out toxins and keeps the 'balance' in our bodies. I have read recently some negative statments about too much water upsetting the electrolyte balance of the body too, so I tend to stick w/ approx 2 liters of added water a day. Clear pee might not be our friend as previously told! Well enough hydrated Kay In South-Beach-Diet-Getting-It-Right , " " <lindagroups@e...> wrote: > A cup of water weighs 1/2 lb? I will need to remember that. I drink a lot of water. Guest guest
I think you're doing great, too, . Especially when you consider how hard it was for you those first two weeks. You have come a long way. ann <ps please don't use the word ONLY when describing your weight loss, you are doing great!! with your 6 pounds a month. You do not have alot of weight to lose so your loss should be slower than someone who has alot of weight to lose. Keep up the good progress!>
