Ditto on the not sleeping together. It has probably been 2 years now. We are happily married and we both get plenty of sleep. When we slept together I was constantly waking him up because he was snoring. So I didn't sleep and neither did he. We manage to have time to ourselves when Ds is a sleep. Just not in our bed. LOL

,

The argument that one wouldn't get any sleep if they were getting up to feed

the baby at night was what drove me to co-sleep with my second.

Unfortunately, she started off sleeping at least 5 hours at night without

nursing, so it wasn't such a big deal. Then she wanted her own bed!! Now

she sleeps 7-9 hours!! and she's only 6 months old!! and she's been so

insistent that we finally broke down and started her on a bit of

solids--here I got lucky though, after just a few bites she was satisfied.

I agree that co-sleeping is safe too--a nursing mom just doesn't sleep

deeply knowing that the baby might wake to eat and you want to hear that

before the baby wakes the whole household.

My first never slept with us, but each after him did. Welove having Lucas

in our bed (especially since my new baby present from my husband was a new

queen sized mattress (we had a full size) with the 'do not disturb' feature

meaning when one person moves the other hardly feels it. I get up to use

the bathroom at night and Lucas doesn't even jiggle as I climb in and out

of the bed.)

We hardly hear a peep out of him at night as I wake before he is even fully

awake usually, the only sounds are the cute ones he makes as he tries to

find my nipple in the dark, LOL.

We coslelpt for a long time. Once Drake got a little bigger and more active

in sleep, Dh was worried about rolling over on him so Drake and I usually

slept together in a full sized bed in his room. Now, I nurse him to sleep

and fall asleep there myself for a few hours and then go off to my own bed.

I love cosleeping and look forward to doing it again with the next baby!

Jodi,

This made me laugh. Drake has slept in his crib, oh a few times, but

mostly it's a place to store diapers, wipes, clothes, anything but the baby!!

Isn't it funny how we think " I'm having a baby(ies) and this is all the

stuff I need " but once you get them it all changes.......

That's interesting......I would think he would have been more afraid of rolling over on the baby as an infant...not when baby is moving around more. We co sleep with both girls, ages 9 weeks and 22 months.

I think that if you two are both happy with the arrangement then it is

great. If one person doesn't want to do it and the other insists, then it

would definately affect your marriage relationship.
