Guest guest Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 Yes, I think it is possible that you might receive some additional help. but for all the money you would need to spend..... It depends on the person, I think. If you have already been researching and studying Andy's material, and getting to understand hormone,s then they may not have a lot more to offer, even though it is nice to talk with somebody that has a clue. It also depends on your insurance. I have Blue Cross Blue Shield, and with my detuctible, when I considered how much it would cost to get there to begin treatment, well....it was well over $2000 and probably closer to $3000, which included gas costs down there and back, but didn't even begin address motels or anything like that. For me, it was definitley out of the questions. I think the only new thing that learned was that her growth hormone levels were low.. It wold be interesting to hear what she would say about them now, a d couple of months after the experience. ~Inga > Thanks Inga, I emailed her personally. I found that part very interesting, because I started taking Colostrum back in January, to boost my immune system. I felt an improvement right away after I started taking it. So maybe I'm low in growth hormone too, and helped it without even knowing it! What are you taking? I took the Heavy Metal Therapy: http://heavymetaltherapy.com/colostrum.php I think it was helpful for my dysbiosis, but I ran out and didn't get more. Speaking of expensive doctors, I saw one today. The good news is she is only 15 minutes from my house and she did prescribe Armour and Cortef for me with no qualms. She also likes to order Doctor's Data tests for things that can't be done locally. In her lengthy pre-appointment paperwork, I wrote that I was chelating and that I wanted my thyroid treatment based on symptoms not TSH. She's ok with that. (She even said she had some patients beyond the high end of the range for T3 because that is what made them comfortable.) She wants me to do a 6 or 12 hour DMSA challenge test (which I consider not very worthwhile but mildly interesting), but is ok with just having it be of a normal chelation round. She found what is probably a nodule in my thyroid so I need to go get an ultrasound. I had a blood test for Lyme's this afternoon. Tomorrow I go in to have 20+ vials of fasting blood drawn for various tests. She also recommended a sleep study and lots of various kinds of allergy testing. (Do most people think the allergy testing is worthwhile? I'm tempted to postpone that until I've done more chelation to see how much of that clears up on its own.) I'm not sure where all this will lead. She gave me a big stack of handouts and the few I've looked at give me some qualms. (e.g. quotes from Mercola) She didn't order an RBC Elements test that I asked for, just RBC magnesium. (I doubt insurance would cover that, so it's no big deal if I just get it from Direct Labs.) I hope I get something useful out of all of this rather than just spend a lot of money. At least it is very local. My insurance said I didn't need preapproval for any of it, but who knows what they will actually pay. W. Quote

I would get sick quite often after rounds of chelation, so I tried it to boost my immune system, and it seemed to work. I felt I could chelate more often because I wasn't getting sick between rounds as much. And I understood that it was a good immune booster, because I grew up on a dairy farm, and my parents always said how important it was for new calves to get the colostrum milk the first few days of their lives. And it was one of the few supplements that I noticed something right away from, so I know it did something good for me!---------Jackie T. ~Inga > Jackie > > > Quote

I know you are supposed to make sure that the Colostrum you get is NOT defatted, the fat contains some important stuff. I just looked at my bottle, and it says it contains 1.3ppm IGF-1, I have no idea how much you need. It also contains IgG, IgM, IgA, Lactoferrin, and lots of fatty acids.-------Jackie T I took the Heavy Metal Therapy: http://heavymetaltherapy.com/colostrum.php I think it was helpful for my dysbiosis, but I ran out and didn't get more. -------------I have never tried any other brands, so I don't know how they compare. I just remember feeling better after I started taking it, and I did seem to not get sick as often last winter after I started it. I was getting sick frequently after rounds of chelation, so I was looking for immune boosters.------Jackie T. Speaking of expensive doctors, I saw one today. The good news is she is only 15 minutes from my house and she did prescribe Armour and Cortef for me with no qualms. --------She did this without any testing first? Wow! Or was it because you have been self-treating already?--------Jackie T> She also likes to order Doctor's Data tests for things that can't be done locally. In her lengthy pre-appointment paperwork, I wrote that I was chelating and that I wanted my thyroid treatment based on symptoms not TSH. She's ok with that. (She even said she had some patients beyond the high end of the range for T3 because that is what made them comfortable.) ------------She sounds good , I hope she works out for you!------Jackie t. She wants me to do a 6 or 12 hour DMSA challenge test (which I consider not very worthwhile but mildly interesting), but is ok with just having it be of a normal chelation round. ----------I know they can vary widely, but it would be interesting to see what other metals come out, besides mercury. If insurance pays for it, what the heck, I'd go for it!-------Jackie t. She found what is probably a nodule in my thyroid so I need to go get an ultrasound. I had a blood test for Lyme's this afternoon. Tomorrow I go in to have 20+ vials of fasting blood drawn for various tests. --------Sounds like she's running the gammet, hope you don't run out of blood!-----Jackie t. She also recommended a sleep study and lots of various kinds of allergy testing. (Do most people think the allergy testing is worthwhile? I'm tempted to postpone that until I've done more chelation to see how much of that clears up on its own.) ----------My DO also recommended an expensive allergy clinic to me, which is pretty far away from me, so I haven't done it yet either. I am also thinking on your lines, that if chelation may possibly take care of this, then why bother if it's not severe? But I believe others have benefited from it and hopefully they'll respond.----Jackie T> I'm not sure where all this will lead. -----------I sure hope this doc works out for you, , and becomes someone you can work with, and not just a waste of money. I'm just curious, what kind of a doctor is she? Keep us posted.----------Jackie t.
