Guest guest
, I am o expert on implantation spotting but I think it happens on days 5-11 so that would be about right on time. Maybe someone else knows more about it. Dana

Guest guest
I know I'm knew here but I agree that maybe putting warnings in the subject line might help people who are having a hard day or are " fresh " from the battlefield... I personally LOVE to read the success stories.. but I know there are women who can't deal with it so soon after a loss.. Just my 2 cents Karla ----- Original Message ----- From: I'll be the first one to say that the past few weeks is a tough time for a new member to come aboard, with all the excitement about recent pregnancies, it would be hard to take in the wake of a recent loss. I think we can ALL work together to be more considerate of others not ready to share in our transition by paying special attention to note the " SUBJECT " line of the messages (this way we won't subject a new member to the discussion of pregnancy if they are not ready to face that). Guest guest
Karla, I think you (and everyone) has every right to express their feelings. I think we've gotten so wrapped up in our own excitement (guilty***) that we forget to do those little things that can make such a big difference for someone new. I'm truly sorry if we hurt anyone's feelings or seemed insensitive. I'm also very glad that the topic was raised and addressed, I'd never want to make anyone feel uncomfortable (especially at a time when they're already so wounded). maria Re: Re: questions > I know I'm knew here but I agree that maybe putting warnings in the subject line > might help people who are having a hard day or are " fresh " from the > battlefield... > > I personally LOVE to read the success stories.. but I know there are women who > can't deal with it so soon after a loss.. > > Just my 2 cents > > Karla > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: > > I'll be the first one to say that the past few weeks is a tough time for a new > member to come aboard, with all the excitement about recent pregnancies, it > would be hard to take in the wake of a recent loss. Guest guest
I wonder if the scarring recurred or if they partially dilated the cervix/opening to the uterus and then it tightened back up. The dilation she did of your cervix in her office may have stretched it open temporarily but wasn't sufficient to get rid of the scarring altogether. Because she did that dilation between the 2 HSGs I would think that's what caused the difference, which would mean the uterus may be normal above scarring right around the cervix since the radiologist didn't see any abnormality on the HSG after the dilation (assuming he read the xray correctly). If your period doesn't come I would think you need another HSG and they may need to look up there to really see what's going on (hysteroscopy). After a D & C for an incomplete miscarriage I had scarring just in the bottom of the uterus that initially only partially closed off the cervix, and closed down altogether after 5 months. After the doctor got it opened up he said it was a little like cervical stenosis seen in women whose mothers had taken DES and that it could close down again over time and I might need to have it opened back up. With my second bout of Ashermans, the doctor has told me a couple of times that, although he got everything open, my uterus might scar down again in places because there was so little endometrium left. Guest guest
: This is very odd....why one doctor wouldn't be able to perform an HSG and the other would is strange. Perhaps you had some scarring in your cervix which cause the " blockage " which has now been cleared? But if so....then your periods should have come back full-force and not so weakly... I would see Dr. Valle for a second " second opinion " . It seems very odd to me that you would not be having a better period if you were, in fact, scar-free. And it seems odd to me that you are having such significant pain if you have no blockage left in your uterus. You need to have this checked-out by an expert in my opinion. Guest guest
First of all, you probably need to see if you have another period in the next month. You could get two different readings on HSG tests due to the first one removing or pushing something such as scar tissue out of the way so the second one could be performed correctly. Since you went to the doctor in Dallas, you started BC pills but have light spotting. You may not have had time to develop a normal or thick lining of endometrium so your period could be light this month but heavier next. I would watch it closely the next month or two and then if it is still light or not the same as before the D & C, then I would try to get an appt with Dr Valle in Chicago. Time will help with your diagnosis, but if you have a clear uterus from the HSG, you sound as if your uterus is in good health. Let's hope all continues well with your periods and maybe your medical situation will be solved. Good luck and let us know if you have more questions. Guest guest
Hi Helen; Typically for a thyroid cancer patient, our TSH should be less than .1 - you don't mention what yours is.. but thats the level to be working towards, it keeps us sufficiently suppressed that if there were to be some remaining thyroid cancer cells, they wouldn't be stimulated to grow. Its really difficult to know if your thyroid cancer is completely gone without a scan. There are two indications, a scan showing uptake of radioactive iodine, and TG thyroglobulin which is measured via a blood test, typically when the patient is hypo (off their meds) so that if there were any remaining thyroid tissue, cancerous or not, it would either show up on a scan or by having a high TG measurment. A TG reading while suppressed (on medication) wouldn't tell much, and TSH level don't tell if there is any remaining thyroid tissue, they just measure how much you are suppressed. So, in my opinion (and i'm a patient just like you and not a doctor) you aren't being followed in a way that would tell about if your thyroid cancer is completely gone at this point, and the only indication of recurrence would be if your doc felt a lump in a neck check.. but it could be behind something, or not very big, and thats not an ideal way to tell. With a scan they would know more. If it were me, I would find that more reassuring. Good luck, and welcome back barb tt8/99 RAI 4/00 Clean Scans 12/00,5/02 > Hi everyone, > I have been a member of this group for quite a while and had my > thyroid removed nearly four year ago.
