Pat, Thanks for the suggestion. My employer has been very supportive, but I think the cot in my office will not fly, ha!! As you know I have only been communicating with the group for less than a week, but already it has been so helpful. It is so nice to talk to a group that knows what I'm talking about. Have you been well since your transplant? Sue pat jones wrote: , Welcome to the group. I'm sorry that you find yourself here but I have found that the people here really support and help one another. I didn't know about this group until after my transplant but I'm happy I found it. I use to get so tired that I would fall asleep at my desk at work. I didn't know what to do about but and then one day I mentioned to my chiropractor (who I was seeing for something else) and he suggested that I have a session with the accupunturist in the office. I really found that these sessions helped me alot. No more falling asleep at work. In fact when we went on a family trip to Europe I was the only one who wasn't jet lagged. Just make sure you let them know that you hae a liver problem and that you need something to help with the fatigue that it is causing. Sue,

I used to have terrible fatigue and would often lie down for my

lunch break. My Dr. prescribed Motilium (also known as Dom

Peridone) as I also had terrible nausea. It worked well. Now I have

enough energy for my new job, the mile and a half walk home, and am

able to make dinner for my family half the week. It is a great

improvement from before when I would go to work, come home and go to

sleep. I still sleep about 10-11 hours on week nights but I am

greatly improved.

Motilium is not covered by insurance in the US. I order mine from

New Zealand.

Hi

I know what you mean and alas I haven't any answers.

Some days I need at least a 1hour nap, but other days I struggle along

and go to bed early. It is frustrating, but I usually plan to do most

of the housework/home business work in the morning as by the afternoons

I am only good for low acitivity level stuff both mentally and

physically work.

I sometimes feel like when our chldren were toddlers, after a busy day

they would sit eating their tea and you would see their head going back

and forward and clonk they were asleep!!

Best wishes

Actually, my doctor gave me a few numbers and companies for the dom

peridone, one even in the US, but suggested the New Zealand company as

the best one. Slightly less expensive or something like that. A lot

of my fatigue stemmed from the nausea. Being constantly sick-feeling

all the time.

I have a session with the accupunturist in the office. I really found

that these sessions helped me alot.

Hi Pat,

When you first saw the accupunturist what dialogue did you have,

sometimes I have found that health professionals seem to take a while

to get their head around that a seemingly healthy person has PSC. I

will make an appointment with an accupunturist, so if we start off on

the right foot (apologies to left footed people) and I know what to

tell him/her hopefully we can get stuck in(or needled in) ASAP.

thanks for the idea.

Hi heather I am so gald I am not alone in needing to sleep so much. My

mum thinks I am just lazy but when I visted dr chapman last time he

tried to explain what it was like and I think she understands now. As I

have 2 small boys one is 1 and the other is 3 they have to go for a nap

too.My 1 year old will go to sleep quite happy but my 3 year old

sometimes doesn't want to go into his room which makes me feel like a

really bad mum but then I know they are both safe as I am out cold by

1.30 every afternoon. I put his video on for him and have plenty of

food, drink and toys in there for him but it still doesn't make me feel

any better putting him in there.

I was very blunt with her. I was already jaundice at the time so it was pretty obvious that something was wrong. I told her that my biggest problems were nausea, lost of appetite, and constant fatigue and that these were all due to the fact that my liver wasn't working correctly. I didn't tell her my diagnosis until much later. I asked her to focus on helping me to relieve my symptoms instead of asking her to try and fix the liver problem. She use to stick needles in me to help increase the energy flow to my liver and then and also to help with my energy levels in general. I use to get the needles stuck in my hands and feet (the web skin between the thumb and the pointer finger as well as the web between the big toe and the one next to it). The first few appointments she tried some in my abdomen but when it started becoming to uncomfortable she stopped. Hope this helps. Pat (CA) UC-1991, PSC-2000,

Hi Pat, thanks so much for that, just what I needed. I will have to

travel about an hour to nearest acupuncturist and things are a bit

overwhelming with work (oh to work in an building where people such as

acupunturists are - but I think I would much rather have the country

life), so it will definitely be my new years resolution to become an

acupunturist's pin cushion.

thanks again and best wishes
