Ok. I HAVE to throw this out. How many of us have metal allergies or

sensitivities as well? And that thing where you can't wear a watch because it

just stops working?

I have metal alergies. Can wear 14K gold earrings or surgical steel only. As

long as my watch is loose I can wear surgical steel or silver also. Otherwise I

break out all over. Have sensitive skin also. Can wear most Clinique but have

not found a lipstick I can wear that any company makes. Wear one perfume

only....Obsession...does not bother me unless it gets under my watch. Skin

lotions except face don't seem to bother me.

LOL for sure. My beloved Irish Grandmother was a watch fanatic. Couldn't wear

one of any kind at all. Used to make her laugh.

I've killed more than a dozen. The last one was an indestructible Swiss Army

Watch. Well, in fairness, it runs a bit but the little light no longer works.

I'd probably lose a pocket watch. I'm negotiating for a digital palm pilot but

will have to be much wealthier or on my way to grad school first.

I never had metal allergies until I got pregnant with my first child. With

each pregnancy after, they just got worse.

I do have to laugh about the watches just stopping! My mom could not wear a

watch on her wrist, always had to have one on the chain or it quit working

within 6 weeks! I haven't worn one is so long I don't know if I would make

it quit working or not. Mom's problem with watches didn't start until she

had high blood pressure, then they lasted for the rest of her life.

There must be a reason for that. Idiosyncratic as we all are,( and we really

are aren't we?) that has to be some kind of circulatory thing. I know that I've

seen cooling socks somewhere. Sounds like you could use them. If you stick

your feet in ice water eventually they should just get hotter because of the

vasoconstriction. So you are stuck with tepid stuff right? Or alcohol and the

fumes would drive you crazy. Have you tried the peppermint foot stuff that is

in some of the fragrance shops?

outside in the snow barefooted to cool them off before. Not smart but it

helped.

Graves got really bad. Now I can wear any metal at all. Still kill watches

though. Wearing biomagnets cause them to turn a strange color. And one, which

had a cloth barrier between the magnet and the skin started giving me a rash.

Strange lot we are. I'm sure this all makes sense on some level though. Wish I

knew what it was.
