Guest guest
Terry, I've had that happen too. But not always. Never associated it with symptoms either. But it would be very cool to figure out what chemical is being created (probably oxidized but maybe no because, as I remember silver nitrate is also black.) and why your skin has a higher content of that. Those of us with metal problems might be transforming the metals to some molecules that would be VERY interesting to study for their commonalities. Anybody know how to write a grant? Guest guest
Pam, You made my day. Really. My biggest talent is to be able to identify just what is burning when it is. Honestly. I can tell the kind of wood, plastic, insulation wires, what petroleum product. I'm also better than some labs at sniffing the correct microbe which is infecting someone. Can't do drug sensitivities though. I've also discovered that some perfumes now make me ill. I swear I can smell different components in them then I could before. This list is justifying all my glitches. (Well maybe not ALL of them) Laurel Re: emotional lability - also a poll This gets stranger and stranger.... Yes, hot feet. Tore up all my rugs and will not replace them, because a cold floor feels good. I keep my bedroom unheated, so I can sleep with my feet out of the covers. Never could understand why anyone would tuck sheets in the bottom of a bed. And I have always kept buckets of cool water every where during the summer...ahhhhh... And I have been a super sniffer all my life. My only regret is that I was not born to the right family in France. There super sniffers are highly valued in the perfume industry. Doesn't that sound like a tough day Sniffing things.... :-) Heck, I can find anything that has any odor at all. No one else ever smells anything. Though this ability can drive you crazy at times. -Pam- ------------------------------------- The Graves' list is intended for informational purposes only and is not intended to replace expert medical care. Guest guest
If it is for me its just coincidental. I have been killing watches since I got my first one as a preteen. Guest guest
Hi Jody, Yes it does. I can wear the palest of pale and I look like the color was screaming red. Then for a couple of days after dry and irritated. Guess I will just swear off wearing it altogether. I always admire the Kim Bassinger look...too bad for me. HA L Re: emotional lability - also a poll Hi , Does lipstick turn your lips bright red, no matter what the color? I had forgotten it does that to me since I haven't even attempted to wear it in 25 years. Guest guest
Hi , I am so glad I am not alone in this. It first showed up when I was about 13, and was sneaking putting makeup on in school...even when I tried to rub the red off, it was still bright when I got home, and got caught wearing makeup ;-) Chapstick is about the only thing I can use on my lips and not have it color them. Guest guest
Hi Everyone, Sorry I am behind on these polls. I am trying to catch up with things this week. So will try to get them done. When I wear watches or pierced earrings I break out unless they are pure 14k gold. Otherwise my ears itch and break out when I wear earrings. Watches make me break out too. On watches my husband had trouble. The girl at the store showed my husband how to check the battery. If it moves a little bit the watch will quit working. We were buying watches once a month for him, tried the pocket watch and everything. The problem was the battery becoming loose, she showed us to put a small piece of scotch tape on the battery. I know this might not be the problem with some, but my husband also believed he couldn't wear a watch. They need to go back to the wind up ones I guess. Just thought I'd throw this in. My husband felt like a dummy when I made him take the watch back I bought him for Christmas. Guest guest
I also have sensitivities to scents. I get an instant migraine. I've found very few perfumes I can use and the ones that don't bother me are the light scented expensive ones. Even chemical scents bother me and onions.
