Guest guest
First of all, your symptoms are not petty... just because you didnt' get as bad as others doesn't make how you feel any less important.... the fact that you can catch things and get them BEFORE you get "falling down wish someone would shoot me NOW" symptoms is actually a good thing! Okay... your numbers... Taking into consideration that you aren't feeling as well as you should, and your basal temp and pulse rate are still low, we'll say that the dose is too low.... If we look at the numbers and compare them with that magical/mystical set of numbers and rules that seem to fit the majority... here is what we get: TSH at 2.298 is still too high... anything over 2.0 still means there is a problem... most folks on replacement feel best at 1.0 or less.... and most 'normal' healthy folks have a TSH of 1.25..... So for TSH... too high Free T4.... your lab's range is .89 to 1.76. The mid range of that is: ((1.76 -.89)/2) + .89 = 1.325 Your's came in at 1.10.... so.. according to the 'rule' that Free T4 should be mid range, or slightly higher.... your's is too low. Free T3... Here the 'ideal' is at the top end of it's range, or slightly higher.... Your's came in at 3.6 with a range of 2.3 to 4.2 Mid range for that would be 3.25... You're not much over the mid range... which is showing that your Free T3 is too low... My thinking is that your dose is too low.... and you might want to see what you can do to tweak up your conversion a bit.... Right now you are on 1/2 grain (30 mg), upping it another 1/2 grain sounds like a good plan... . up to you if you want to do the whole grain in the morning or split the dose.... Some do great with a single dose, some do better with 2 or more..... How are your afternoons? Do you tend to get run down/tired in the afternoon.... or are you pretty consistent through the day? ....all of this is IMHO, of course Topper () On Wed, 12 Oct 2005 18:52:01 -0000 "hsinthecountry" writes: Greetings everyone!Just got my latest lab results. I don't say that very often, btw. Now for the questions: How do you feel, Robin? How long between your last dose and the blood draw? Had you been on the 3.3 grain from August til now? Some folks are really good converters. So they don't need to add a lot of extra T3. Allowing you to stay on the Armour to keep all the extra trace goodies, I like that idea.... adding the extra T4 to bring that up to a more comfy level.. I like that direction... but the bottom line is how you feel..... Guest guest
, thanks for responding. I have only been at 3.3 grains for 4 weeks. I did take my Armour in the morning of my labs (only FT4 & FT3) were done at 3:30 in the afternoon. Would my results have been badly skewed? I had to retake them that day or they would not have been ready for my doc visit today. They should have been taken along with my TSH and cholesterol last week but a nurse messed up and did not check off on the lab sheet for the Frees. I took my Armour at 9:00 and I had the labs done at 3:30. I feel pretty good except for still being tired. I still have low temps 98.0, 97.6, 97.4 the last three days. I actually felt good for three weeks on this dose raise from 3 to 3.3 until this week. Now I'm feeling fatigued again and I get around 7 hours of sleep maybe I need more. Do you think the 25 mcg of Synthroid makes up the the 1/3 of Armour I'll be dropping? Thanks so much for your input. It is appreciated. Robin V. > > Now? Guest guest
, thanks for responding. Robin V. > > Now? So currently you are taking 125.4 of T4 hormone and 29.7mcg of T3. It will take 6 weeks for T4 to reach optimal dose in your body. $weeks ago you were on 57mcg of T4 and now you have increased it to 125.4 mcg but it takes 6 weeks for T4 to show up optimal in the bloodwork.. Your FT3 is high though.. are you taking your dose all at once or spreading it out during the day? Kats3boys

Guest guest
I took my morning Armour dose of 2.25 grains in the morning and had my Frees done at 3:30 in the afternoon. The tests should have been run last Wed (fasting lab) but a nurse did not mark them off on the lab slip. When I found this out on Mon. I had already taken my morning dose of Armour and the frees had to be done that day to be done for yesterday's doc visit. Do you think the FT3 results is skewed because I took my morning dose? By how much do you think? It was 6 hours later that my labs were taken. So, what you are saying is that my T4 wasn't fully built up on my latest dose of 3.3 grains? Now my doc wants me to go back down to 3 grains and take an added 25 mcg of Synthroid to get the T4 up. Thanks for your input. Guest guest
Hi Robin, Have you had your B12 checked as a defiency [pernicious anemia] mimics the symptoms of hypo-t? Dawntopper2@... wrote: Now? Aug 3.3 grain 1.5 grain TSH .6 .8 (.3 - 3.0) FT3 .59 (2.3 - 4.2) FT4 .77 .62 (.58 - 1.64) Everyone holding on to their keyboards??? I happen to agree with the doc, looking at the numbers.... I am and was at 3.3 grains at the time of my latest labs and in Aug I was at 1.50 grains. My doc wants me to go back down to 3 grains of Armour and start taking the 25 mcg of Synthroid to get the T4 up and have labs done again in 8 weeks to see whats what. Is anyone here in the same situation with a low T4 and a high T3? Anyone taking a combo of Synthroid and Armour and how do you feel? Any comments are appreciated. Thanks,Robin V. Yahoo!
