No, sorry I was not clear. I don't crash on weekends. On weekdays

when I go to bed at Midnight, I MAKE myself go to bed (thus getting 6

hours of sleep). On nights when I do not have to work, I am up until

1AM, 2AM, sometime 3AM... then I sleep until maybe noon the next day,

sometimes later. I always referred to myself as a " night owl " . I've

been doing this sleep pattern (or less hours on weekdays) for 15

years.

By the way, on weeknights with 6 hours, I wake up fine and I am not

tired during the day. Sure sometimes I feel " fatigued " that that is

only since my thyroid has been not functioning right. But even

considering that, I pretty much feel fine with 6 hours. I've tried

upping it to 7 hours, and it actually is much harder for me to wake up

and get going in the morning. 6 hours feels best for me, except on

weekends and that is only because I LOVE sleeping when I know I don't

have to do anything else that day.

thyroid, it is definately hypo " .

I was on 1/2 a mcg for 3 months. He just doubled it to a full 1

mcg. I see him again in 8 weeks with new labs (for TSH only).

I asked him, " Do you think we should also test T3 and T4? " He

said, " No, I see no reason to test T3 right now, and besides, the

TSH lab we did, is FREE T4. "

You feel that he doesn't know what he is talking about?

I am going to give him and this higher dose to my next 8 week

appointment with him. If it is not a significant change I will look

into the specialist. If I go to a specialist though it will

actually be 200 miles round trip. I would definately have to limit

doctor visits to only a couple times a year.

I'll decide after my 8 week visit and labs with my current doctor.

I've heard that we need supplement of Selenium because modern farm

methods no longer give the amount of selenium that would be in food

otherwise. Too much selenium can be toxic, but I've heard the other

direction, that unless organic, we won't get the selenium we need

from foods.

Here is a question for you... do you drink anything that has caffiene or eat/drink anything with high fructose corn syrup? That will make you have those problems.

Here is a question for you... do you drink anything that has caffiene or eat/drink anything with high fructose corn syrup? That will make you have those problems.

I have one cup of coffee in the AM, no other caffeine. I pretty much

try to follow a low(er) carb diet, which includes no sugars or corn

syrup. I don't feel as if I have a " problem " in regard to sleep. I'm

fine with only 6 hours on weekdays.
