Welcome to the list. Anything I can do to get you past the stumbling block,

please just speak up! :D

Introduction

Hello!

You know, I've always hated to introduce myself, but at least I'm not

standing up in front of you all right now =)

I'm , 32, and DH is Doug, 41. Our kids are (11), Hannah

(6), Austin (just shy of 5) and (4 weeks). We live just outside

Indianapolis, but are originally from Pennsylvania.

I nursed all the other kids and am currently nursing . For one

reason or another, I never made it past 5 months with the other kids.

Probably the biggest stumbling block was that they remained skinny

while breastfed and until now I didn't really realize that it only

stands to reason since DH and I are both thin. Duh. So, this time

around I'm am absolutely committed to breastfeeding as long as

wants.

I should note that was our surprise baby. DH felt he was too

old to have any more kids and I was just getting used to having all

the kids being more independent. However, has been an

incredible gift. I'm able to see now how quickly babies grow into

kids and I try to make sure I'm enjoying her babyhood as much as

possible.

BTW, I will be getting the digest, which is easier for me to read, so

if I don't answer something right away, that's probably the reason.

I am getting so bad at not introducing myself to the new people on the list.

I'm sorry. Hi everyone I am Rhonda my DH and I have been married for 17

years, we have five girls ages 13 11 9 6 and 8 months. And we live in

Washington State. I didnt breastfeed my first two started to breastfeed my

third but because of lack of knowledge and support I quit after a week or so.

my fourth I breastfed for around 7 months and with my fifth we are still

going strong. This is a wonderful list full of great women.

Welcome ! I'm Michele, just introduced myself to Krista so I won't repeat it all lol My dd was also tiny, still is, only 25 lbs at 29 months but we figured it was because all the women in the family are small ;-) Luckily no one ever commented to me that breastfeeding wasn't enough.

Thanks, ! I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one with smallish

kids. Funny thing is that Hannah, 6 1/2, is tall for her age, but incredibly

thin. The boys, on the flip side, are both short for their ages, and average

size, but are solid as anything. Austin, who's almost 5, is within 5 pounds

of Hannah, but a good head shorter. I can tell already that the boys take

after the men in my family who stay short until high school and then grow

like weeds. Even I grew 2 inches in college!

We're in sville, about 16 miles SW of the center of Indy. We used to

live on the northside, around 86th & Ditch, but found this place in the

fall. Funny how things change; I used to love living in the city, but we did

a complete turnaround. We're out in the country now and have a bit over 6

acres that are almost completely wooded. It's a very secluded place and I

love it. The kids think all the woods are great too but I wish they'd stop

being tick-magnets!

I always think it's nice when I run into a fellow Hoosier on-line =)

First, ask if they can cup the baby.. they do this here at our NICU.. they

take a medicine cup, and the baby laps at the milk.. that way they keep from

getting nipple confusion.. You can certainly request any kind of care that

you would see fit, within medically reason.. and they should accomodate you..

Just because he is having a hard time breathing, and has to be in the
