sounds "normal" for AS- and the cramps are usually a good sign that you have living endometrium- and are probably back bleeding through your tubes (perhaps only one if the pain is one sided)- for me the pain was quite intense at times and it can lead to endometriosis- which I developed but can easily be corrected during a lap if necessary- you're in good hands with Dr March- hang in there- adn I hope you get good news :)

I to have intense cramps. I actually started them today. I get severe cramping and tenderness in my abdomin. My left side is much more painful than my right. My cramps were never like this before. I also experience a dark brown discharge which I get for 1 to 2 days. My dr says this is dry blood. It is not much I just wear a light days pad. I can't wait until the day I have to buy a super absorbancy pad or better yet a tampon. I have had the same box of tampons and pads underneath my bathroom sink for two years now. They just sit there collecting dust. I laugh but it is rather sad, now I'm crying. I hate these cramps!!! This physical pain is just a small reminder of all the emotional pain I am going through. Anyway my dr. says the pain is because there is no place for the blood to go so I guess it all backs up adding pressure and pain this last for awhile, I guess until my body reabsorbs it?

I thank god for this group. I feel so much better with the support of you all. Unfortunately there is a part of me that hopes when I log on there will be a new post with a miracle cure for Ashermans. Where we just have to take a little pill and it is all better. No more scarring and a perfect uterus to house a perfect little baby. But I know it is a hard battle ahead and I must forge on. Thanks

All,I'm a new member and have an AS question. I recently had an HSG performed and was told that I have Asherman's. I have had amenorrhea since March of this year. When I have an appointment to see Dr. March in a few weeks. Well, I have noticed now, for the second month in a row, that I have been having cramps and spotting that last about 2-3 days at the same time each month. The cramps aren't exactly the same as when I did get my AS before Ashermans. The cramps are more on the right side and my whole abdominal area feels tender. The cramps are pretty intense. Anyone else have this happen? What does this mean? Is this a good sign? I'm sorry but I just can't wait the two weeks to ask Dr. March.Thanks_________________________________________________________________Internet access plans that fit your lifestyle -- join MSN. http://resourcecenter.msn.com/access/plans/default.asp

I just saw Gwen's doctor (Dr. Valle) and he did say scar tissue

calcifies in 3-5 years. I'm in the gray zone (heck, I'm always in

the gray zone! :) with my scar tissue being 2 years old. I'm hoping

he's wrong and W gives me hope since her scar tissue was over

3 years old.

These hormones made me a maniac. Unfortunately I was on them during a family trip/wedding in California. My in laws thought I was a nutjob before the trip was over. I was on the phone with my mom crying on the beach! (My mom is a therapist, and told me it was the drugs!) So, yes, they are awful....all of them make me very emotional!

Hang in there, you are probably PMS on top of it!

:)

Hi Everyone, Well, This has been such a hard couple of days but I still have not gotten my period. I was wondering if any of you had any of these symptoms when you came off of the primarin and provera. I am having terrible headaches, I can not quit crying, I just feel terrible, I am having some cramping and I am just depressed. Do you think this is a side effect. I just do not know any more. I wonder sometimes if I do not need a antidepressent, but I have read that is not good if you are trying to have a period. I just wondered what you all thought. Sometimes it just feels so hopeless. Thanks for listening

endometrium = lining of the womb

residual = remaining

Depending on how he said it I would assume he meant there was some

lining still present. How did he qualify the residual - some, a

small amount, a lot of?

a,

Can't answer your question in full, thought I'd just put in a little

reassuring note to let you know from what I have heard I am confident dr. G

is the man if you need him.

One thing I will say is the optimal place for the placenta to attach is the

top so.....

Best wishes

a,

I have this type of scarring. I only had 1 large band of scar tissue

in the lower part of my uterus and the rest of my scarring is on the

walls. Dr. Olive said that this can be treated. He is hoping it is

the type that will kind of peal off but I have also heard that this

type of scarring can be harder to remove and must be done very gently

to assure that the lining under the scarring isn't damaged. It also

appears that I have very little lining. Dr. Olive saw no lining but

after the surgery I did get my period for the first time. This month

however was not so good. I only had minimal brown spotting again. I

will be interested to hear any information you get about this type of

scarring. Dr. Olive's assistant called a few days after my hyst and

she said that he is still optimistic that I can be treated. I hope

this helps.

Thanks Roxie,

It's very interesting to hear you have the same type of scarring and good to

know that it can be treated. I suppose that I have been slightly confused

because I have been told to ttc as my consultant dosen't seem to think it is

anything to worry about. Maybe my scarring isn't too bad but I wish I had a

few more details about it. My periods are very light and mostly brown blood

but I have had some bright red since the op. which must be a good sign.

Anyway thanks for responding and good luck with your treatment - I hope it

is successful,

Take care,

a

Hi a

After surgery with Dr Gallinat I was told I still had a bit of scarring over one tube and the surrounding area. I don't know whether other scarring also came back - my poor periods would either indicate that was the case, or that my lining was (is) very thin. I am now 9 weeks pregnant with a confirming scan which saw a heartbeat at 6 weeks, I pray to God that it is still going strong.

This would perhaps seem to indicate that I have been lucky and either conceived with a thin lining and perhaps slight scar tissue still against the walls - who knows. All I know is that I am very nervous!

Hope this helps a bit.

Hi Wally;

Ablation means removal, deletion, obliteration. In the sense of

thyroid cancer, we talk of RAI ablation, using Radio Active Iodine to

kill off any remaining thyroid cells (plain or cancerous) Thyroid

tissue is the only tissue that takes up iodine, and when it takes up

Radio Active Iodine, it gets killed off.

Hope this helps,

barb
