Guest guest
Hi Sue, Good to hear from you. So you say your secret to success using ATDs is to be so hypo you forget to take your pills, and this 'cures' you. LOL ! I am so happy you have learned so much, and can keep all this under control. What a mess it could have been. So far, so good here. I am at three months with no PTU or herbs at all, and doing good. This has been one of the more stressful weeks . Some where in the 'top twenty' in my life, and I do think if I make it through this one, it will be clear sailing. So nice to hear good news, as I get ready to tuck myself in for the night. -Pam- Update > Hi everyone > I haven't been around for awhile as have been so busy painting > painting painting. > I went for my check up end of February and all was well. LOL ! Oh goodness - I was there in spring last year - despite taking them every morning for nearly a year, I was so hypo I forgot to collect the next months supply, and didn't realise for 3 days. It was the week of my endo appointment, so I turned up sweating buckets, and jumpy as hell, saying that I was still on way too much carbimazole At the previous appointment I hadn't been able to remember my doctors name, the previous hospitals name, my previous endo's name....... Sue congratulations on finding what sounds like a good doctor.

Guest guest
Hey Kris, What dosage are you taking total (including any zinc you may be getting from your multi?) Just curious? My cycles are long...greatful to have them at all, but would be interesting to see if there's a correlation. ) Re: UPDATE , That is a very interesting thing! I have had a similar experience since I began taking zinc supplements a couple of months ago (at the suggestion of someone else on this list). My cycle went from 45 days to 33 days. I'm waiting to see if it had any effect on this month... or if it was just a fluke. K
Guest guest
Totally makes sense. I don't know if you remember...I'm a PCOer, too. It'll be interesting to see if there is a connection. ) Re: UPDATE (snip) I'm really not trying to force a pregnancy, I just want my body to work properly, and if I'm insulin-resistant, I need to be taking metformin. Does that make sense? Anyway, that's the nutshell... it would be perfectly amazing if it turned out that a bunch of us were copper-deficient and/or zinc-deficient, wouldn't it? Guest guest
>>>>>>Hey Kris, What dosage are you taking total (including any zinc you may be getting from your multi?) Just curious? My cycles are long...greatful to have them at all, but would be interesting to see if there's a correlation. )<<<<<<< ------------------ When I first saw the zinc suggestion a couple of months ago, I checked my multi and was disgusted to see that there was not one single mg of zinc in it! So I bought a 50mg zinc supplement and I take one each morning. Dunno if it's really helping, but I would imagine it probably isn't doing me any harm. The container says that 50 mg is 333% of the RDA, so I only take one. I have also been on metformin (Glucophage) for one year this month, and in the past year I have lost 25 pounds without changing anything about what I eat/don't eat or how much I exercise. I go in later this month for my annual exam, and he will draw blood and see if the met has helped my PCOS problem this year. I chose not to take Clomid along with the metformin, although the doc said it probably wouldn't cause me to ovulate all by itself. I'm really not trying to force a pregnancy, I just want my body to work properly, and if I'm insulin-resistant, I need to be taking metformin. Does that make sense? Guest guest
, that is DEFINATELY something to check into. Thanks for the information. I am glad you are feeling so much better. Marcy UPDATE FIRST, THERE ARE 2 JULIES IN ON THIS CONVERSATION AND THIS ONE AINT PG AT THIS TIME BUT HOPING. I WAS HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY BLOODSUGAR DROPPING AND IT WAS GETTING WORSE AS I WENT. FINALLY I JUST GAVE UP AND WENT TO ANOTHER DOC WHO ORDERED THIS TEST. I WAS JUST DEAD TIRED AND COULDNT DO ANYTHING. I WOULD GO HOME AND JUST LAY ON THE COUCH AND WATCH MY LITTLE ONE RUN AROUND CUZ I DIDNT HAVE A PRAYER OF KEEPING UP TO HER. I FELT AWFUL. LIKE SOMETHING JUST WASNT RIGHT. I STARTED A WEEK AGO LAST FRIDAY AND HAVE BEEN RUNNING WILD!!!!! MY WEIGHT EVEN STARTED DROPPING AGAIN. I FEEL GREAT. ITS WORTH GETTING THE DOC TO TEST YOUR TRACE ELEMENTS TO SEE IF SOMETHING IS GOIN ON THERE. BUT, IF YOU ARE PREGNANT IT MAY BE CONTRIBUTING TO YOUR BEING TIRED TO. THE ONLY PLACE I COULD FIND IT HERE WAS AT THE GNC STORE. COULD PROBABLY CHECK WITH ANY HEALTH FOOD STORE AND SEE WHAT THEY HAVE. I PAID LIKE 7 BUCK FOR IT AND IS SO WORTH IT (100 PILLS) WELCOME TO THE GROUP. I DONT POST MUCH BUT READ ALOT. JULIE P.S. HI LENORE HOW ARE YA? At about 20 wks I started gaining and losing a pound here there...staying at around 5 lbs down from that initial 11. Does that make sense? My dr was also concerned about not gaining weight, but every ultrasound and test has indicated a healthy, good sized little girl. Take your vitamins, eat your protein, and drink your water! :-) I'm sorry you have to (most likely) deal with preeclampsia again. I didn't have it either pregnancy, but my best friend did and it made the later part of her pregnancy pretty difficult. Guest guest
I am 14 weeks pg and lost alot between weeks 7 and 12 (like 14 pounds). Mostly because of severe morning sickness. My doc says she will not become concerned unless it continues way past the beginning of the 2nd trimester (now). She hopes for me to maintain in the 2nd trimester and gain some in the 3rd. She's not too concerned yet. I know someone who got pg 1 month after surgery and lost the whole time....she gave birth to a healthy 7 pound baby! Good luck! > Hi ladies, > Just wanted to update you and maybe get some feedback > I am 13weeks pregnant. I saw my doctor today, and since my 9weeks > check up I have lost nine pounds. Guest guest
, I had my 21 week appointment yesterday and had gained 5 pounds since the previous month. This was my first weight gain for this pregnancy, so I imagine it wouldn't be unusual if your weight didn't stabilize for several more weeks. I didn't gain a pound until then (but remember, I'm over 2 years post-op, and my weight has been stable for a year and a half.) If you're closer to your WLS, then it would not be uncommon for you to lose weight at first. Even NON WLS people sometimes lose weight at the start of a pregnancy. My doctor said that as long as I'm eating and not vomiting, then he wouldn't worry. The baby will take what it needs. - Alice edd 5/24/03 " " wrote: > > Hi ladies, > Just wanted to update you and maybe get some feedback > I am 13weeks pregnant.
