Mike, you weren't there long enough. Or the people in your meetings

didn't behave that way (I admit that's possible). But why should you

disbelieve everyone who testifies to what they have actually seen?

There are people from all over the country here who are testifying to

similar experiences. Does that mean nothing to you? If they are

lying, what is their motivation?

Lighten up.

> The only psychodrama Manson knows about is being a guru and

manipulating weak minded people. the only pugilistics john wayne gacy

engaged in was beating up on a boy half his size and age, with the

Please do not cite these filth to me as something to think about-they

should I change my opinion because some alleged 'giant' thinks some

This group is called 12 step free. Of course none of have much that

is positive to say about 12 step groups. Why does that surprise you?

Mike,

Go to different meetings and know what to watch for. The 'gurus'

I'm aware of have their own home group(their turf) and when looking

for a new prospect usually go back to home base -cause I think- most

of his victims are afraid to return do to the fact he knows so much

about them and will use it against them if need be. (keep you quiet)

I've seen this done--and has been used on me. Also have

seen 'guru's' fight over new prospect's. Learn what to watch for,

ask about previous sponsee's--then check the story out. Cause they

can lie like a son-of-bicth.

Hey Mona,

To paraphrase a line from " Blazing Saddles " :

" You can use your tongue pertier than a $20 whore, Ms Holland! " .

In the nicest possible way of course - $20 was a lot of money back

then!

The Polgar sisters could eat your liver at chess, together with 99.9%

of male chessplayers. Even Britain's own Kathy Forbes'd have your ass

I've no doubt. If Mona plays, I'd bet she could.

The jury is out on the relative abilities of males and females at

chess, but it's likely that there are few top women players simply

because girls are smart enough to spot a waste of time when they see

it. It is a decdiedly male characteristic to become obsessional about

intricate matters of no consequence; it's called autism.

Well stone me, what a surprise that there might be comtempt for 12

step groups and their advocates on a list called " 12 step free " .

Who'da though it?

Well get this. We dont know whether youre lying and what your

motivation might be either, and you clearly show a comptempt for us

when you claim to know that our statements are exagerration and lies.

If you get so riled up pal by what you read here, then the obvious

solution is to fuck off so you dont have to read it.

All I understand is you are trying to confuse with a barrage of words. You must be a big fan of F Buckley, but it doesn't mean you are smart, the fact that you can copy phrases, and use a thesaurus. Mike.

Re: Further Akron AA lunacy

.. " Women's category " for Bridge is bullshit. Some of the greatest

players in the world are women. This is just hangover from

fluffy-little-women-cant-do-shit days. Women may well close in on

both chess and poker, where they are making inroads. Of course the

greater variance of male intelligence may stil;l mean that the alll

time greats remain male, but the average performance by women may well

be at least as good.

> I don't know how to play bridge, but I bet I could play spades as

good as you. By the way men are better card players than women,

also-it seems in almost every category of competition there are men's

categories and then there is the sub-category for women competitors.

In fact, I cannot think of one competitive arena where the men are

in a sub-category to the women. No offense. Mike.

Hi ,

I'm sorry if I seemed flippant about Autism and Asperger's Syndrome in

these posts and I hope you werent upset but it. I have studied them as

part of a Psychology degree. As you will be knowledgeable

about them you probably know that Asperger himself thought that the

syndrome and the related autism are merely extremes of male

psychology, that tend to be characterized by greater social aloofness,

stereotypical habits, and preoccupation with mechanical devices and

intellectual abstractions, than females, which is why they are more

common in males. My own father might well have been dxed with

Asperger's if he had ever been evaluated. He could name the lengths

of all the railway tunnnels and cuttings between Manchester nad

Liverpool and London. when I told a clinical psychologist this he

laughed and said that that was practically diagnostic by itself. I

often joked with a psychologist friend about how chess, bridge,

computer programmers and science fiction fans are mostly men who are

either fat with beards (like me) or skinny and clean shaven, and

both socially gauche: Either impulsive and chaotic, or excessively

restrained and conscientious. You can probably add poker players to

the list too.

For what it's worth, spatial relations was one of my highest scoring

aptitude tests in high school and one reason (together with the rest

of my profile) that my counselor said if I weren't a girl, I could ber

an engineer. Yet I've never won a game of chess in my life.

Obviously, however, it's easy to say that men are better chess players

when so many more men than women play.

I have studied psychology and I am hopefully fortunate enough to have

Well it does require study and practice as well as motivation.

However, you are perhaps evidence that there is much more to good

chess playing than visuo-spatial reasoning.

Not anything anyone would have said about my Dad. According to my

brothers, the priest at his funeral (not knowing they were there or

that they even existed) basically said what a complete pain-in-the-ass

my Dad had been, as if to kind of damp down any unease folks might

have had at the sense of relief the congregation had at his passing.

Superficially he appeared affable to tohers, but he had a very dark

side to him I have written about before. In response to my little

" Feorge Formby " skit, Mandolin replied as if my stepfather had raised

me (he didnt). If he wonders where I get it from, my real father

and mother are the place to look.
