Dear toosweet,

Terry is right about the meds, usually the colors change if the dose has

changed. And on the brand name drugs, they sometimes do have the name of the

drug written on the other side. But also this is what I have experienced.

Maybe there is a drug/pharmacist in our group that can shed some light ? I

have learned that there are lots of companies that make the generics and

they can come in different colors and shapes EVERY month. My dad has to take

31 cardiac meds every day. Needless to say, I get him the generics,

otherwize he would be in the poor house. The generics alone cost him mega

bucks every month let alone try the brand names !

Every month I ask the pharmacist, why is the pill not orange anymore. He

tells me that the pharmacies will by the cheapist generics from different

companies, it all depends on what company has the best offer for the month

in volume. It also happens with my son's asthma meds. So if you are really

concerned, ask the pharmacist to double check the pills. There is a generic

pill book that you can buy, but the drug companies come up with the new

generics meds so often that the books are not current. I know that depending

on the med and how important it is, I try not to get the generic. I would

rather pay for the brand name for my son's asthma med than to mess around

with possibly not having theraputic levels in his system. But the MAJORITY

of the time, almost all generic drugs are very effective. I know that I

always double check with the pharmacist and we are on a first name basis now

and he sometimes will call me and tell me what has changed before I get to

the pharmacy to pick up the meds. ( Thank God he is a keeper ! ). Just don't

be afraid to ask. ( because mistakes do happen ). I take generics for almost

all my meds. I am just picky about my son's asthma meds. Everyone has their

quirks !

It sounds like you had a truly awful day. Where is the infection as big as a

fist? I wish there was something I could say that would help but we have all

had those days when nothing seems to. Just hang in there tomorrow may be

better. from Canada

Dear Rose,

I worked on cheering you up yesterday, now it's YOUR turn, darn it!!

Hey, now that I mention that, how come nobody wrote to ME after all that???

Haha.

I'm feeling really sick today, the result of eating some chicken soup I

think... thought it sounded

pretty harmless at the time... Now I'm in E X T R E M E P A I N . . .

Can't figure out if it was the soup, or the new enxymes I finally started today

(I had plenty of the old

ones left). I went from Pancrease to Viocase... and yes, I am taking Prilosec,

as per the instructions of a

few of you... Heidi, Kimber, perhaps Kaye, anybody else??

Haven't felt like this since the last time I went into the hospital. My chest

is too tight to let me

even vomit - that's a new one.

I'm hoping I don't feel like this too much longer, or it's off to the ER I go.

DAMN I don't want to go to the ER.

Prayers please!

Thank you,

Terry

Terry,

Wow, I hope that you are feeling better by now. I can't opine on the

enzymes, I wouldn't think that they would make you ill like that. Was the

chicken noodle soup from a can ? Canned soup has MAJOR salt in it, sometimes

is not god for the body. Are your blood sugars under control... you know

you have a tendency to be a little ornory ( sp ) about your blood sugars !

I tried Prilosec for a while, made me very dizzy and I actually passed out a

few times from it. But the doc told me that it can cause abdominal pain as

well, chest pain too. ( How ironic ! ). How long have you been on the

Prilosec ? Maybe that could be part of the problem ? Just a thought. I hope

that you are feling better,

Lily

Dear ,

It's always so good to hear just a few brief words from you and from

Jackie via you... It's important to keep our team captain's mood in good

stead, and you do it like nobody else can, of course. I wonder if she'd loan

you out for a few hours at a time every now and again... Hmmm... Hey, she IS

a teen now, right??? Haha.. I'll just wager that she probably WOULD be

willing to make some kind of arrangements... Let's see, what do I have

here... (fishing in pockets...) Some REALLY cool pens - some dressy ones,

and some that light up and do odd things... a watch collection... Hmmm... my

two cats, but they get really p.o.'d if I try to stuff'em into the pockets, a

pretty good collection of CD's, (but I'm probably a little too old for her -

bsb and lil-kim are a bit too much " hype " and not enough " hip " for me... I'm

a bit more macy gray, madonna, mel etheridge...) Hey! I'll give her my star

tak for the weekend in exchange for two hours of mom's quality time --

anything I want -- from real mashed potatoes with brown gravy to a foot rub.

(post shower, pure and clean with lots of foot powder or " state of mind -

SANCTUARY " , (worker's choice, and I tip generously).

Deal? YEAH! GO! GO! GO! GO! GO! GO! GO! GO! GO!

Mom, you have no say-so, we'll jest let you know how the vote comes out.

Get back with me Jack-ay, we got bz-naze. GO! GO! GO! GO! GO!

out jack-ay! GO! GO! GO! GO!

Tkc GO! GO! GO!

Ahem... yeah, ? Chat soon, kay? GO! GO! GO! GO!

Terry in KC GO! GO! GO! GO! GO! GO!
