Guest guest
Hello Annie, I feel less pain after a nights sleep, and the pain gets worse as the day goes on. But I am on Cymbalta and its helping me. I do feel fatigue however, and I go back to sleep about an hour after I wake up, and nap for two hours. I have tried so many things to help me with the fatigue, but nothing is working. But I do have real bad pain in my right sciatic nerve and in my right hip, down my leg. That pain comes on with rain and sometimes for no apparent reason as the day goes on. My rheumatologist just told me I have arthritis in my right hip. Maybe you could check for osteoarthritis in your hip. Just a thought... Gentle hugs, Loretta > > I have a question. Guest guest
Annie, I have gotten my heat pack too hot too. I got up in the middle of the night and heated up my neck pillow/rice bag. I put it on my neck and went back to bed and to sleep. When I woke up, I had a nasty burn across by neck. It covered the entire back of my neck. When I went to the chiropractor, she said it was a 2nd degree burn. It was rough for several days, but finally got better. barb --------------------------------- Looking for a deal? Guest guest
Hi Loretta, I am so glad Cymbalta is helping you. When my pain first started to get really bad, my doctor sent me to a pain specialist who diagnosed me with Fibro. Every time I go there I have to fill out a form -- what is your pain level 0 to 10, what is acceptable 0 to 10. I used to say to myself why would anyone put that anything more that 0 is acceptable. Now I know that any relief is a blessing when the pain gets really bad. Thanks for telling me about arthritis being a possibility. I appreciate it. My doctor has sent me for many, many tests since this all started. Of course, almost all the results were negative or normal. One of the first tests she sent me for showed that it was not osteoarthritis although I do have that problem in my knees and hands. Thanks for the thought. Love, Annie > > > > I have a question. Guest guest
It almost makes me dread going to sleep, because I know when I get up I will feel like a pile of crap. > I have to say that until we started planning for the weekend trip we took this past weekend, I had been doing pretty well. And had been for much of the time since returning from a trip back to the midwest to visit family and friends back the end of July. But now that I think about that, I was on an antibiotic for 10 days which could have helped with some of the symtoms I have. But since I have had insomina since I was a child, just getting sleep is a blessing! And now that I mention that, I have to wonder if my mother was ever aware of how little sleep I got! I would go into the two events that could have triggered that but it's too much to write here other than to say that, when I was 23 months old I saw my older brother killed by a drunk driver --- had nightmares for years and given what happened to him, it is logical that I would have --- the car struck him, his broken body flew through the air and landed feet from where he was struck, and there was much blood. Then sometime after my 8th birthday but ending before my 11th or 12th birthday, I was molested by a neighbor of my grandparents --- the changes in my behavior following those incidents were attributed to the fact that during some of those years my cantankerous paternal grandfather lived with us --- meals at our house were seldom pleasant with him telling my father how to live his life (my father was getting close to 50 if not older at that time!) and my mother was certain whatever was " wrong " with me could be laid at my grandfather's feet. So for me any sleep is good but there are times when I do wake up after a really sound sleep and will feel pretty good, but most of the time, it is a struggle and has been for much of my life!! Strange as it may sound, I have sometimes gotten my best sleep during the few times when I have been in the hospital! Now that I am not working, I do find that I generally wake up around 9 or 10am, sometimes take a nap in the afternoon!
Guest guest
I feel fair in the morning when I wake up. I get up at 5 a.m. in order to be at work by 7 a.m. I am not in a lot of pain until I am at work. It seems the longer I am up, the worst I feel.
