Merritt,

Do you know how long it's been since I have been satisfied with 10 fries? I

was probably a year old, ha ha!! I think that would be the greatest thing.

Just to be satisfied with something before I eat it ALL. It's got to be

worth it.

Thanks so much for sharing with us!!

Don't forget that I said that I eat whatever I want. If I want a bite of

apple pie or ice

cream or soda or candy, I have it. Now keep in mind that sweet stuff makes

me nauseous, so I know that if I tried to eat the whole thing, I'd be

MISERABLE. So...I don't want the whole thing, I have one taste, maybe two

and then dilute it down with a glass of water and I'm TOTALLY happy. Do you

know how

it is when you've eaten something that's made you really sick in the past

and from then on, you don't want to eat it anymore? That's how it is with

sweet stuff for me now. I crave more salty stuff now, like fries, chips,

PICKLES!! So, if I want french fries, I order them and have not once eaten

more than 10...not because of my 'willpower' but because I'm completely

satisfied with 10. You will be too. That's the beauty of this surgery.

Hope this makes sense.

Merritt

Cheryl Hi I'm still in the process of getting all my ducks in a row to

have the surgery. Congrats on your 60lb loss that's great ! I had a thought

on your plateu, If you are exercising more now could be you are building

muscle mass, which weighs more than fat. That is very healthy and could be

why your scales are not showing a loss. Don't get down keep up the great

work and I'm sure you will see the results soon on the scales. How do

your cloths feel ? Sometimes inches mean say alot. Firming up with the

loseing is very important to me I don't want to look saggy : ) Donna

Cheryl,

It seems to me that I have always been able to eat more than other people.

I guess I never worried about it much since I continue to lose weight.

Dear Merritt,

Thanks for your input. I also eat almost everything I want.

I refuse to give in to my Pepsi craving because if I find out that

I can tolerate it I'm afraid it will be all I want. It's the only craving I

refuse

to give in to. I do enjoy an occasional sugar cookie when I really

want something sweet and one cookie satisfies my craving all day.

Thanks again!

Dear Tara,

For me I have my sugar content down to a science! Anything with more than

16 grams

per serving makes me feel bloated, queasy, and very sleepy. I also seem to

wake up with the jitters (like to much caffeine). I just keep in mind that

if I eat 1/2 of a serving I only get half the sugar. Fortunately I have

always enjoyed Sweet & Low and use that to sweeten almost everything I eat

or drink that I make myself. I think it just takes time and trials to find

your tolerance level. I know some others that seem to not have dumping

syndrome at all. I'm really glad I do because it keeps me honest!

Dear ,

You sound just like me and you have only lost 3# less than me and I had

surgery two weeks before you did! Sounds like you are right on track! My

husband has also given me a few strange looks when he see's me eating

something he thinks I shouldn't! Funny I thought I was the only one!!!!

Thanks for that bit of info!

Rae,

On the days I can't eat as much It seems to me that way all day or even a

couple of days, and then I have a hungry day and I nibble all day long!

I never know what each day will hold. I guess change is the spice of life!

:-)

Hang in there, you are doing great!
