Guest guest
For the person who asked about the charge for the labs- is this for like a urine test to be done at home or a blood draw that requires nurses to draw and process the results? Of course there would be a charge for the latter. Our last blood draw cost $68. $56 for phlebotomy by nurse and another $12 for specimen handling and processing. I then had to pay the test/ lab charge (like for a packed red blood cell) directly to the lab by credit card or submit to insurance. Keri Ours started to charge us $40 for two kits at our first visit but I think the look I gave them made them back off. Especially since we had to wait hours to be seen. Today we went for a blood draw though and they had told me about a $20 lab fee but it turned out to be $90! $45 for the nurse, $25 for the blood draw, and $20 to pack up and ship the labs. > >> >>> >>> >> Never have I ever been charged for a test kit....> >> Tami-Mom to Paigg, andria,Mackenzee(ADHD) and Sawyrr(ASD) > >> Healing is Possible-Shooting for the *****STARS*****> >>> >>> >> > >> To: mb12 valtrex > >> Sent: Thu, April 1, 2010 1:25:23 AM> >> Subject: Are all DAN! docs charging for test kits? > >>> >>> >> I was wondering if anyone started to get charged for test kits from > >> their DAN! doctors. Guest guest
One of my DAN! (can't remember which one as we have had 5) said that it was not right to charge for the test kids as they get them FREE from the lab. The lab only charges for the test and so should the DAN!.sallyTo: mb12 valtrex Sent: Thu, April 1, 2010 1:37:54 PMSubject: RE: Are all DAN! docs charging for test kits? Guest guest
Sorry to bump this old thread. But we had our first appt today at Dr. Berger's. I was just looking at my receipt. Each kid was charged a 15$ " convey from office to lab " fee. I'm not sure why? No collection was done there and we will be taking the form to our PCP to write up and request the labs, so they are paid for. I was also asked if I wanted to pick up the stool and urine collection kits " now? " And was told they were 100$ each (not exactly, I think one was 92 and another 105 or something)That would have been another 400$ on top of what I already paid so I said no. I hope these are the " test kits " you all were talking about being able to get for free??? Anyone that can shed some light on this, please :-) Thank you !!! Dr Berger used to charge us upfront as well as the cost of the test. Really screwed up insurance. ( we were only there 6 months abs switched to ICDRC. ) Never have I ever been charged for a test kit....Tami-Mom to Paigg, andria,Mackenzee(ADHD) and Sawyrr(ASD) Healing is Possible-Shooting for the *****STARS*****-- Toni------Mind like a steel trap... Guest guest
What company is the test for? Some companies will send it direct to you. I have never been charged for a kit from any lab including great plains, metametrix, sanascan, paris lab. I would certainly ask why you are being charged for a kit free to the doctor. The companies don't charge for mailing them. > > > > > > > > > > Never have I ever been charged for a test kit.... > > Tami-Mom to Paigg, andria,Mackenzee(ADHD) and Sawyrr(ASD) > > Healing is Possible-Shooting for the *****STARS***** > > > > > -- > Toni > > ------ > Mind like a steel trap... > Rusty and illegal in 37 states. >
Guest guest
Test kits from Great Plains labs are sent free and include free return courier shipping at no extra charge. I imagine the other big labs have the same policy. Any doctors offices charged you for test kits to be sent to you or sent back to the lab are making themselves some " extra income " just because. ____________________________________________________________ TRY FREE IM TOOLPACK at http://www.imtoolpack.com/default.aspx?rc=if5 Capture screenshots, upload images, edit and send them to your friends through IMs, post on Twitter®, Facebook®, MySpaceT, LinkedIn® - FAST! Guest guest
My understanding with Dr. Berger's office is that when you pay them upfront you are paying for the cost of the test, not the kits. You are paying him and then the lab bills him rather than you. I forget which one, but there is one test we have done there that our insurance does cover, so Dr. Berger's office doesn't charge us for it and then we have to fill out the insurance portion of the paperwork for the lab. We have only been charged the $15 fee when they have done a blooddraw, so if a draw wasn't done, then that was a mistake. If you call them, they will fix it. You can choose to have your blooddraws done elsewhere, but I have found that much more difficult. One time the outside lab tech didn't read the instructions on the kit and was trying to send me away without centrifuging the sample. After showing her what she was supposed to do, she then refused to pour off the serum, which I had to do in my van! Plus, Dr. Berger's staff is really good at working with the kids at the blooddraw. My youngest still freaks out, but at least they are very understanding there. Bottom line, with Dr. Berger's office I would just ask questions. If you don't understand a charge they will be happy to explain it to you and help you out. I have never felt they were charging for anything they shouldn't. Even the supplement prices are the same as they would be directly from the supplement companies. And they don't care if you don't buy them from them - they just offer them for convenience. Guest guest
Thanks .I definitely didn't feel like I was being swindled or pressured while there but just afterward thinking " what just happened?
