Guest guest
Hi all, My son is ASD and 4 1/2. We dealt with constipation pretty regulary for A LONG TIME (from 1 to 4 ). The only thing that really helped was vit c and magnesium but that was really hard to get the right dose. We finally gave in and tried Miralax and it has been great for us! We're also doing SCD and raisins are very hard to digest and ALWAYS made him constipated. Also from what I understand Vit. D can be constipating. I know everyone says horrible things about Miralax but having regular bm's has really helped my DS come along developmentally. We plan on using it until his bowel muscle have been retrained. Just a thought, I know that DS situation is different but I thought the info may be helpful Kitty mom to 4 & 1/2 ASD, SCD since 07/08 & NT with gut issues, SCD since 07/08 > > > > > > Hi everyone, > > > My almost 3yo and I are relatively new to the bio-medical approach. > > Before we began using bio-medical treatments, back in November 2009, > > would have been characterized as HFA and generally happy. Guest guest
Hi everyone, Thank you all for the great advice and insights. I certainly had not considered that raisins could be constipating. I thought they were like mini-prunes. I'll keep you all posted on what finally works. Thanks again, > > > > > > > > Hi everyone, > > > > My almost 3yo and I are relatively new to the bio-medical approach. > > > Before we began using bio-medical treatments, back in November 2009, > > > would have been characterized as HFA and generally happy. Guest guest
I've always been under the impression -- that it disrupt testosterone levels in boys -- due to the estrogen mimicking effect. Essentially, feeding boys soy formula is like giving them birth control pills. Also, feeding them soy also increases the maturation process. Which can give little boys thyroid problems, (along with a whole host of issues. Like inability to reproduce when he is older, he's only 3) The information is out there -- lots of articles, google " boys and soy milk " -- I did this when my son was young because he had such feeding issues. I did soy for a couple of weeks, and then I read that, and found other substitutes (not that it helped much). Soy is found in a LOT of things -- especially processed foods. So it's really hard to stay away from. On the advice of one of the members here, I switched him from a soy containing Cod Liver Oil to a non soy one. I haven't noticed any difference, but my guess would be that I wouldn't necessarily see anything significant. However, just because you can't see it, doesn't mean it isn't there... laura > > > Â Why? > > > > > > ________________________________ > > To: mb12 valtrex > Sent: Fri, March 26, 2010 7:53:28 PM > Subject: Re: Gut Pain Cause? > > Â > Hello, I'm sorry you're having so many issues, I'm going to throw in my 2 cents here FWIW. Like inability to reproduce when he is older, he's only 3)The information is out there -- lots of articles, google "boys and soy milk" -- I did this when my son was young because he had such feeding issues. However, just because you can't see it, doesn't mean it isn't there...laura >> > Why?> > > > > > ____________ _________ _________ __> From: "shimmery315@ ..." <shimmery315@ ...>> To: mb12 valtrex@ yahoogroups. com> Sent: Fri, March 26, 2010 7:53:28 PM> Subject: Re: Gut Pain Cause?> > > Hello, I'm sorry you're having so many issues, I'm going to throw in my 2 cents here FWIW. Guest guest
It may not cause me any problems.I use it exclusively since I went off dairy. As you know,I had/have serious problems with sexual development,I am probably sterile, and have never had any desires in that area. The most recent tests I have had prove undervirilization, but not hypogonadism. It looks like I have an androgen receptor defect. Guest guest
rogar many of us moms on here had done a survey as well as on gfcf kids I think it was and perhaps chelating kids about our drive and many said they had next to none. it may have something to do with immune burn out and body in survival mode amoung many other things like EFAS being off ect or low nutrients as we many times have the same issues as our kids. LDN made a huge difference for me, and antiinflammatories. I have heard things like progesteren over the years help many as hormons can be off as well Re: Gut Pain Cause?> > > Hello, I'm sorry you're having so many issues, I'm going to throw in my 2 cents here FWIW. Just a thought, I know that DS situation is different but I thought the info may be helpfulKitty mom to 4 & 1/2 ASD, SCD since 07/08 & NT with gut issues, SCD since 07/08> > >> > > Hi everyone,> > > My almost 3yo and I are relatively new to the bio-medical approach.> > Before we began using bio-medical treatments, back in November 2009, > > would have been characterized as HFA and generally happy.
