Guest guest
What are you doing for a yeast protocol? Big poops like you describe and pretty much always a sign of yeast issues, as is gut, toe walking and behavior issues.nancy jSubject: Gut Pain Cause? To: mb12 valtrex Date: Thursday, March 25, 2010, 6:53 PM Hi everyone, My almost 3yo and I are relatively new to the bio-medical approach. Before we began using bio-medical treatments, back in November 2009, would have been characterized as HFA and generally happy. He whined when he didn;t get what he wanted, but he was happy. He remained this way on the bio-med approach until about a week or two ago when he started being grumpy all the time. I think he is experiencing gastro-intestinal pain, but he is not yet able to tell me. He cries frequently, wants to be held all the time, and sometimes wants you to hit his stomach. He went from interest in potty training and asking us to take him to the bathroom to screaming at the thought of the toilet. A toe-walker from way back, he is even higher on his toes these days. He sometimes has huge bowel movements (literally over a foot long) and his last two large movements have had visible blood. The first one showed enough blood for me to have to wipe it away from his anus. While he experienced some constipation before bio-med it was never this bad and he was never in obvious pain. Can you guys help me troubleshoot what we are doing? I'm so afraid that I am hurting rather than helping him. The fact that we haven't seen any major improvements (except in the amount that he eats) with bio-med yet isn't helping my frustration. Any advice would be really appreciated. Here is what we have been doing: GFCF since November 2009 (no noticeable improvement with GF) MB12 Subcutaneous shots since January 2010 Trienza since February 2010 Vitamin D3 1000 IU since October 2009 Switched from Rice Milk to Soy/Hemp milk due to allergy February 2010 Gummy vitamins (since forever - waiting for our DRN vitamins to arrive) Epsom Salt baths since last week (seemed really happy when he would get in for the first few days, today he didn't cheer at all) Zinc since February Zantac since he was 3 months old We gave him Miralax (total of 3 tablespoons over two days) before I read how bad it was for our kids - He was in pain before the Miralax He eats mostly protein (lately trying to down select from meat to fat - it's pretty gross) and carbs (trying to expand his diet - zinc has made him eat more, but not different foods). We give him plenty of raisins, applesauce and juice to try to balance it out. To be clear, this doesn't appear to be a regression. He still has his skills and is learning. This is a physical problem. We're doing some tests prescribed by his DAN! to check his gut function, but it will take weeks to address it. We've been to a regular gastro and his suggestion was Miralax. Can anyone provide any leads on this to help us get to the root of the problem. Does Trienza ever cause gastro problems? We thought it was constipating the first time we tried it. What else could it be? Thanks in advance (and sorry for the really long post).

Guest guest
His fecal and urine tests came back clean for yeast, bacteria, and viruses in the gut. The DAN! said he had the cleanest gut he'd ever seen. The rest of his body is a different matter. At this point, I'm really trying to figure out the pain issue. He's not acting more " autistic " he's acting like a wounded little boy and the regular docs seem clueless. We're doing a Metametrix test to check for intestinal swelling, but I really think that something that we changed is hurting him. Guest guest
Sorry, I am not an expert at all, actually don't know what I am talking about with bio-medical :-) except you said his tests came back clean... was this recently or before the protocols you are on? Because as I understand it, these things can change??  His fecal and urine tests came back clean for yeast, bacteria, and viruses in the gut. The DAN! said he had the cleanest gut he'd ever seen. Guest guest
Hi & Tracey, my son is under the care of a gastroenterologist who has him on Miralax. You both mentioned that Miralax is bad for our kids. I've never heard this. Can you tell me what you know about it?Thanks,Soraya It sounds like yeast. I WOULD NOT give him Miralax!!!Look into Dr. Buie or Dr. Krigsman (google)From: <lisa_getteyahoo (DOT) com>Subject: Gut Pain Cause? To: mb12 valtrex@ yahoogroups. comDate: Thursday, March 25, 2010, 6:53 PM Hi everyone, My almost 3yo and I are relatively new to the bio-medical approach. Guest guest
To get started on reading why Miralax is really, really, bad, please look in the "message" section of this board...I'll write more about it to tonight...p.s. Just go to the "messages" archive, and type in keyword "Miralax", there are stories dating back a few years about experiences other parents have had with Miralax... it can cause major regression, etc., please read it... Guest guest
Thanks, Velma. He doesn't have parasites, but the other issues are distinct possibilities. He also woke up with a great little fever this morning so the plot thickens. I'll look into these potential issues. I really appreciate your thoughts on this. > > > > From: <lisa_gette@> > > Subject: Gut Pain Cause? > > To: mb12 valtrex > > Date: Thursday, March 25, 2010, 6:53 PM > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >  > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Hi everyone, > > > > My almost 3yo and I are relatively new to the bio-medical approach. Guest guest
Hi Toni, We had the tests done after most of the bio-med things were in place. You're right, something may have changed, but based on comments that I'm getting and what I have seen, I think that Trienza is the culprit. I'm trying to figure out what to try next. Thanks for your question. Sometimes the right question is better than a great answer. Guest guest
So, since I have been reading all the posts about stopping Miralax I need to know how much aloe juice to give him a day and what time of day so I can stop the MIralax. Does anyone know the amount of aloe vera juice to give a 3 1/2 yr old weighing 35 lbs and at what time of day, evening or morning?Thank you so much in advance-ChristyTo: mb12 valtrex Sent: Fri, March 26, 2010 1:59:00 PMSubject: Re: Gut Pain Cause?
Hi Toni, We had the tests done after most of the bio-med things were in place. You're right, something may have changed, but based on comments that I'm getting and what I have seen, I think that Trienza is the culprit. I'm trying to figure out what to try next. Thanks for your question. Sometimes the right question is better than a great answer. Guest guest
There are horror stories out there from long term Miralax use. Just Google it. As an alternative you may want to look at Oxypowder or aloe vera juice. Hi & Tracey, my son is under the care of a gastroenterologist who has him on Miralax. You both mentioned that Miralax is bad for our kids. I've never heard this. Can you tell me what you know about it? Thanks, Soraya It sounds like yeast. I WOULD NOT give him Miralax!!! To: mb12 valtrex@ yahoogroups. com Date: Thursday, March 25, 2010, 6:53 PM Hi everyone, My almost 3yo and I are relatively new to the bio-medical approach.
Guest guest
Hello, I'm sorry you're having so many issues, I'm going to throw in my 2 cents here FWIW. I would eliminate the gummy vitamins and the soy...soy is horrible, ecspecially for boys. Almond milk makes a pretty good substitute. Constipation sounds like it's giving you a world of trouble, try adding in magnesium and a good probiotic. Also I would try cod liver oil instead of vitamin D, it has a natural balanced form of vitamins d and a. Some sites that may be of use to you: talk about curing autism, I think the website is tacanow.org. Also there is a lot of good info on the group indianabiomedicalkids.com, the girls on there are wonderful. And for supplements ourkidsasd.com, type free in the promo box for free shipping on orders over $40. Some other things you could consider putting in his program, minerall, extra vitamin c, amino acids and phospholipids (love these). Digestive enzymes may be helpful as well. Hope you find these suggestions useful. > > Hi everyone, > My almost 3yo and I are relatively new to the bio-medical approach. Guest guest
Miralax is terrible for kids with leaky gut. Have you tried OxyPowder or increasing Vitamin C or Magnesium? Sometimes increasing with CLO or EFA/DHA fish oil can help bowel movements as well, (also provides much needed brain nutrition)I would actually not elimiate the Vit. D - may kids with autism needs lots of extra. My daughter is on an additional 2000 IU per day in addition to her multi. Have you checked for yeast or bacteria? My daughter gets very constipated and bloated belly with clostridia. Vancocyn/Diflucan works wonders for us for that. Perhaps theTrienza isn;t the " Right " dgestive enzyme for your child. Have you tried any others? Maybe separate them into the Peptizyde and Zyme Prime and No-Phenol; and see if the bowel problems change. I would also agree about adding in a  good probiotic.  Keri  Hello, I'm sorry you're having so many issues, I'm going to throw in my 2 cents here FWIW. >> Hi everyone,> My almost 3yo and I are relatively new to the bio-medical approach. > > Here is what we have been doing:> GFCF since November 2009 (no noticeable improvement with GF)> MB12 Subcutaneous shots since January 2010> Trienza since February 2010> Vitamin D3 1000 IU since October 2009 > Switched from Rice Milk to Soy/Hemp milk due to allergy February 2010> Gummy vitamins (since forever - waiting for our DRN vitamins to arrive)> Epsom Salt baths since last week (seemed really happy when he would get in for the first few days, today he didn't cheer at all) > Zinc since February> Zantac since he was 3 months old> We gave him Miralax (total of 3 tablespoons over two days) before I read how bad it was for our kids - He was in pain before the Miralax> > He eats mostly protein (lately trying to down select from meat to fat - it's pretty gross) and carbs (trying to expand his diet - zinc has made him eat more, but not different foods). > > Thanks in advance (and sorry for the really long post).> >
Guest guest
Dana's web page isn't up, unfortunately, because she had a really good Miralax page. Other things that work for us to keep things " going: " psyllium fiber and miracle fiber For a " right now " constipation problem: mag cit My son's tube feeding formula is constipating. Our son's doctor gave him Miralax in the past and I gave it to him before I knew how bad it was. I told the Dr, " it doesn't work. " His solution, " double the amount. " Yeah, no. > > There are horror stories out there from long term Miralax use. Just Google > it. As an alternative you may want to look at Oxypowder or aloe vera juice.
